Culmore Manor Reviews (40)

The majority of the staff are very nice and informative; they helped Mum settle in extremely well. Sometimes I do feel that communication from some staff members could be improved. Overall, very happy.
We welcome all feedback. If you would wish to discuss any aspects of your feedback please contact the Home Manager.
Very friendly staff and great help.
Culmore Manor has a very friendly and caring environment. The staff are extremely considerate and kind. My mum has come on leaps and bounds since being admitted to the care home. The nursing staff keep you updated on my mum's progress. I am really happy with my mum's treatment and the communication from staff. Mum seems really happy and content.
Culmore Manor Care Home is beautifully decorated and has a very welcoming feel to it. The staff and management show great care and rapport to the residents. Overall a great home and I would recommend highly.
Culmore Manor care home is well run and very nice. The management and staff are great. I would recommend it to anyone.
I am so grateful for the love and care my father gets, I couldn't ask for a better place for my father to live. Each and every one of the staff have been amazing during Covid lockdown and keeping me reassured on my father's wellbeing. I will be forever grateful for all they have done and do.
Mother has been treated with kindness, care and dignity. She has become accustomed to the different staff and has benefitted from the rest, comfort, nutrition and care that the home affords her.
My sister is happy and content and is well looked after. The carers even got a colour to put in her hair as the hairdresser is not back yet. I couldn't ask for better care for her.
My mum has been a resident for 8 months now. Her care is excellent. Staff are really excellent and so professional and friendly. It is definitely a home from home. I sleep well knowing she is very well looked after. Her dignity is preserved despite having neurological problems with her condition. Staff are patient with her and treat her well. She loves the food and tea breaks especially. We have really missed her during lockdown and enjoy our weekly visit now and she is in good spirits. She is content, happy and well. We didn’t have any worries during lockdown as we had confidence in the professional staff and management. They are honest when something needs to be done or anything happens and we know what is happening. It was so easy to pop in and see Mum, whenever we wanted to, before lockdown. I often sat with her at night until she fell asleep and she was so at home and comfortable. You really couldn’t want for anything more. They are very consistent and follow the rules. Thanks.
The home is always immaculately clean with a nice fresh smell. Lovely spacious grounds. Friendly, helpful staff who take time to speak to the residents and their family, and always try to resolve any issues to the best of their ability. The activities manager works very hard trying different activities to keep residents stimulated. The erection of an outside pod for socially distanced visits has been a great success and really appreciated by residents and their families.
My father has been a resident for almost five years now. The entire team of staff treat my father with unconditional love and kindness; they support our family with such care. Through Dad's very tough and challenging days, he receives the very highest quality of demanding care. His dignity is preserved, and the encouragement to preserve his own self ability is a continuing, encouraging goal every day. The staff work so hard to encourage Dad the interaction between staff and Dad is always of a very positive high standard. I would recommend to anyone who has very vulnerable loved ones; who require experienced nursing care to consider this wonderful home. (Its Dads home within a home). I sleep well at night knowing the staff really care so much about my Dad - you are all diamonds, precious and appreciated so much; in many ways. Thank you.
My mammy is very content and happy in Culmore Manor, she has a great rapport with the staff. There's a good variety of activities and entertainment which my mammy enjoys participating in. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and I am very happy with the care my mammy receives.
My mother has been a resident for the last two years at Culmore Manor and I'm more than happy with the level of care that my mother receives. The staff are very welcoming and treat my mum with respect and dignity. I find the staff are very approachable and helpful and nothing seems to be a bother.
I could not thank the staff enough for the care they deliver to my mum, and especially, now in these unprecedented times with the COVID 19. They have gone over and above their role to ensure my mother feels safe and secure within the home. On a daily basis, staff also ensure that contact is made with family multiple times either by 'face or /and mobile phone and this has proven to be a lifeline not only to my mum but to our family. Mum has been surprisingly in good spirits, and this is due to care and attention she receives and the 'craic' she has with some of the staff. I am very thankful to all the management and staff for the measures they have put in place to protect the residents and for the efforts which have been made to keep everyone's spirits up which is not an easy task especially in these times.
I'm definitely putting my name on the list for this home.
I was very worried when my mum went into Culmore but she settled in very well. I would highly recommend Culmore Manor - the care given by them to my mother was second to none. The staff were very good and the cleanliness was good. I understand from my mother the food was good.
We as a family have nothing but gratitude for the staff of Culmore Manor, Derry. From the moment Mum went into care until her last breath, she was treated with dignity by a member of staff who thought of her as one of their own. Even at the end of life, one of the young carers wanted to tidy up Mum's hair before the undertakers arrived. It is hard to single out staff as all of them treated her so well at The Manor.
Mum’s last days were very difficult for the family but the staff did everything they could to help and support us through this sad period and at the same time continued to treat Mum with compassion and dignity. We cannot begin to thank the staff enough for everything they did for Mum and the family.
We were all greatly impressed at not only how our brother was cared for, but also how we as a family were treated with amazing dignity and respect. Nothing was beyond the realms of impossibility which made us feel so welcome and comfortable even during a very difficult time.
I would like to mention in particular the staff who were remarkable in every aspect of their duties. They were professional and practical to the needs of our brother and above all else, their amazing work was carried out with a spirit of care and kindness. They made our whole sad experience much easier because nothing fazed them and everything was executed with a smile and a willingness as they met the needs of our very sick brother, who at the end of his life had a place whether long or short to call home.
Having a very independent mother it was with sadness that she needed to go into care, we visited the home we found to welcoming, friendly staff and happy residents. My mum was there 7 mths. Staff became like an extended part of our family. As a registered nurse myself I watched they deal with all the individual needs of the residents treating all with respect and dignity. We were free to eat with mum if we chose. It was encouraging to see the resident up and dressed even if unwell. My mother required the acute care team intervention and this was put in place rather than her be admitted to hospital which was not what she wanted. There is a lovely atmosphere and activities are put on for the residents with weekly hairdresser arranged. During mum's last days the staff were very attentive including looking after us as a family for which we will always be grateful. Care homes often get bad press and it is important to give praise where it is due and I have no hesitation in doing this.
