Review of Laganvale Care Home from P C (Son of Resident) published on 12 December 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My Mum spent the last 5 weeks of her life here. Initially things were ok and staff were pleasant enough but after a few issues with soiled clothing being left in her room and a few non essential items going missing, should have realised things were not as good as portrayed.
There was little care, empathy or dignity displayed to her (or us) when approaching her end of life.

She's at peace now.

Review of Laganvale Care Home from Beata C (Next of Kin) published on 23 September 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My MIL was admitted to this place. Every surface is sticky. She was placed on an air mattress that was not blown up, bedding is full of stains. The previous male occupant departed. His clothes are still there and my MIL was forced to wear it since the staff had put it on her, while her M&S clothes are in the closet. Food is cold and not up to promises. Everything you read about activities and all are nice sounding on the website, but otherwise it's all older person neglect!!! Working on getting her out after 4 days

Review of Dunanney Care Centre from William L (Son of Resident) published on 30 January 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother had serious mental and physical challenges and stayed here for a number of years. I can't speak highly enough of the manager and staff at this home. The home is fresh, clean and warm. Residents are treated with kindness, compassion and in a dignified fashion. Staff are highly competent and I have only good words to say.

Review of Glebe Care Centre from D D (Aunt of Resident) published on 6 December 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My nephew has been in this care home since 2022. The staff are what makes this care home and they deserve high praise. Staff are clearly caring and compassionate towards all their residents and my nephew is always treated with kindness and respect. Staff are always friendly and always make time for family members regardless of how busy they are. The staff at The Glebe are worth their weight in gold.
With regards to the care home itself it has recently been taken over by St Ann's Unfortunately I have never been given the opportunity to engage with them which is disappointing and I would have welcomed some form of handover from them as the new owners to be informed of any future plans for The Glebe etc.
Issues needing to be addressed by owners -

An OT needs to be appointed urgently. Prices do not reflect accommodation. Modernisation required. No transport /minibus available to residents needs to be addressed. Funding to provide more activities/games and trips etc for residents.

Review of Rosemount Care Centre from Gillian B (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 September 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Mother was a resident in Rosemount care Home Portadown for 2years until her passing in August 2024. I could not rate all the staff highly enough in their care of looking after my mum. They were very informative regarding her medical needs and helpful and nothing was too much trouble and they were always available for a friendly chat. Definitely an A*. Thank you, Rosemount for all you have done for my Mum.

Review of Dungannon Care Home from K P (Brother-in-law of Resident) published on 5 July 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My sister-in-law has been fortunate to have found a place in this excellent care home. All the staff are so helpful and friendly, it is a happy home and that says a lot! Immaculata looks so happy and smiles whenever they talk to her. In particular, her carer who takes care of my sister-in-law does a great job and is genuinely a caring person. All of the residents are treated with dignity and empathy.

I love that trips to the seaside are organised. There is a beautiful garden in the centre of the complex which looks beautiful at the moment. The place is very clean and tidy at every visit. My overall opinion is that the residents here are fortunate to be in such a well-run and caring home.

Review of Dunanney Care Centre from Ms S C (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 May 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

We had such a good experience with the staff of Dunanney. From the moment the care manager met my father for assessment, to his placement and later his transfer we could only praise the staff of the home. My father spent just over a week in Dunanney, as a place came up in a home much closer to us. As this was his, and our first experience of care homes, it was quite a traumatic time for us. However, it was all made so much easier, by the kindness and professionalism of the manager and his staff at the home. Across the whole team, from the nursing staff, care assistants, and all the support staff, what sticks in our mind, is how all the staff were always friendly and smiling. They were also fully up to speed on his medical needs and treated my father with dignity and kindness. We are very appreciative that our first experience with a care home was so positive.

Review of Ardlough Care Home from I M (Grandson of Resident) published on 14 March 2024 Submitted via Website

My gran has recently moved into the nursing home and I must say she is the happiest she has ever been. The staff go over and above what is expected and she seems so happy and content. The manager has been so informative and welcoming since first meeting my gran in hospital. A fantastic nursing home. Thank you for all your work.

Review of Kingsland Care Centre from Annette S (Wife of Resident) published on 30 January 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My husband's care wasn't up to standard, he had an enteral feeding tube inserted and was never cleaned, always blocking, leading to hospital admission, but if staff had been trained properly they would have known what to do, just like myself/son knew what to do. He had three hospital admissions last year due to the lack of care from Kingsland staff. I nearly lost him twice, I hope for other residents' sakes that they have all the relevant equipment working/up to standard. I don't know how the

RQIA didn't notice these faults. also, Larchwood was contacted on numerous occasions by myself/my son regarding things that were stolen out of my husband's room/things that were broken/never replaced.

Review of Oakleaves Care Centre from Adrian C (Son of Resident) published on 14 December 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

All of the team at Oakleaves showed great care and respect to my mother (who suffered from Alzheimer's) during her stay. She was treated with dignity and respect, and we will be eternally grateful to everyone who played a role in her care. Although we were initially very reluctant for her to go into care, the professionalism of the team was extremely reassuring.

These kind and caring staff were family for my uncle, who sadly passed away in July. We will be forever grateful for their kindness and compassion to him during his years living there and his end-of-life care. Many thanks.

Review of Melmount Manor Care Centre from Edel S (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 September 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mum is in Melmount Manor Care Centre since March 2023.
We as a family are happy that Mum is getting so much care from the staff they all are lovely, friendly and very aware of Mum's needs they are always there to help. Mum gets her hair done weekly and always looks well clean and content. Some days yes Mum will have her off days, thats not a new thing but the caring staff are always on hand to make sure Mum is happy.
The staff take Mum out on days out Mum looks forward to those days.
There are entertainment on as in Music Tea dance evenings, Magician, Baking, physical balloon games to music, bingo, Luncheon Club, and lots to do.
If we have any questions, or worries the staff are there to answer and reassure us on any quires that may come up.

We have meetings with the team/staff to let us know how Mum is getting on, it's good because it gives us peace of mind that Mum is well looked after.

Review of Oakleaves Care Centre from Thomas E (Son of Resident) published on 7 September 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Myself, my brothers and sisters, our children and grandchildren, would like to thank the management and staff of Oakleaves Care Centre for the care given to our beautiful wee mother during the final months of her life. Their dedication is exceptional. Over the course of our mother’s stay, we were updated on her health on a regular basis. We all agree that we have found new friends for life in Oakleaves, in particular, the manager and another member of staff. Whilst being hesitant to single any of the staff out for mention, we witnessed something very special during the final weekend of our mother’s long life. Having received a phone call to tell us our mother’s dementia had taken a turn for the worse, my wife and I arrived at her room. We saw a member of staff kneeling by her bedside, playing mum’s music box and singing into her ear. We will always treasure this memory. “To care for those who once cared for us is one of the highest honours.”

Reply from Jennifer Lynch, Manager at Oakleaves Care Centre

My experience of Mum's care is excellent. My siblings and I are in regular contact with the staff at Oakleaves and we find that Mum is cared for the best of everyone's ability, despite the gradual progress of her disease. There is excellent communication between the staff and family and we feel fully informed. We are grateful for the kindness and patience shown to Mum by all the staff.

The staff in Oakleaves have provided my dad and us, his family, with an amazing service over the past year. He is so well looked after with care and love. The activities for the residents are great, and there is always something going on. Any of Dad's needs are met, and anything he wants is catered for. He has a special diet which is catered for, and the food quality is excellent. The cleaning and laundry services are great. I cannot fault the work done here; I am so grateful that my dad is happy here.

Staff are very welcoming and keep us, as a family, up to date with Mum's everyday care. One member of staff is a true angel to Mum and all the staff, showing great empathy and care. Often Mum is distressed on my visits to go to the toilet as her walking is poor and there is someone always at hand with care and personal feelings taken into consideration. The music and events have been done with great effort and style. I look forward to the 70s dance.
