My mother-in-law who had severe dementia, moved to L'Hermitage in June 2018 when the residential home where she was living were unable to give her the level of care that her deteriorating condition required.
Staff at L'Hermitage quickly established a warm rapport with my mother in law, not easy given
her initial reluctance to move and her limited verbal communication. She was wonderfully well cared for by the staff who were always kind and patient. Her last few days were very difficult and I will always be grateful for the kindness of everyone I came into contact with.

My husband couldn't be better looked after. All staff are very well trained and instinctively know how to handle difficult situations. They treat residents and us families with dignity, kindness and understanding. I come every day and stay at least four or five hours with my husband and am always made
to feel welcome and comforted when I need it.
Very happy.

My father has been in Beaumont Villa for ten months now and it is always an enjoyable experience when visiting him. He is always well dressed and the staff take care and pride in helping him maintain his personal hygiene, cleanliness and well being.
All the staff are warm and friendly, always willing
to go the extra mile to make my father's stay and family and friends visiting as pleasurable and normal as possible. As a family, we are impressed and appreciative of the standard and level of care from all the staff which gives us peace of mind.

My mother spent over three years in the home needing full nursing care. The patience and attention she received was outstanding.
She was treated with dignity throughout and in her final hours she had a hand to hold even when we were unable to be there for her.

From the moment my mother entered L'Hermitage, the care has been outstanding. The staff are excellent, very professional and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. As my mother requires nursing for her many medical needs, including vascular dementia, it is wonderful to know that she is safe and well
looked after

Mum went there for end of life palliative. All the staff were sympathetic, supportive and did an amazing job to the end. We will never be able to thank them enough. Wo would never have been able to give her at home what she received in the way of nursing, facilities and quality of life to the end.

Words are not enough to express my gratitude for all the good work and care for my sister at the home. As I was in the medical profession myself I have seen and worked in the difficult establishment but I can only say this care home certainly comes to the top of my list. Many thanks for everything to
all the staff personally involved with home. God Bless you all.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.387)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.387) out of 10 for L'Hermitage Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.854 for L'Hermitage Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (70 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 82 Ratings = 4.854
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.533 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for L'Hermitage Care Centre is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.4 = 0.833
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

Ronan is our Home Manager at Beaumont Villa, here’s a little bit more about himself and the home in his own words:

“I have 40 years of experience in a variety of fields, from paediatrics at Great Ormond Street Hospital to overseas work in Palestine, South Africa, and Thailand. For 20 years of experience, I have worked in Care Home facilities with an emphasis on promoting excellence, adopting a more personalised and holistic approach.

I work in my residents’ home; they have chosen to live here and it is a privilege for me to be a part of their life and contribute to their overall wellbeing. I hope I make a positive change that the residents can relate to, even the smallest gesture is important. Seeing our residents and my team laughing and smiling brings me a lot of joy!

I believe in a kind and calm approach, as it is essential to imbuing a sense of tranquillity. It resonates with all who live and visit Beaumont Villa and L’Hermitage, and this translates to improved relationships with all who visit the community.”
