Green Lane View

My Mum moved to Green Lane view shortly after my dad passed away. Retaining her independence was really important to my Mum and I and moving there allowed her to be independent and have her own apartment. Mum fell in love with Green Lane View the minute she visited and all of the team made her feel so welcome and part of the family from day 1. Living 3 hours away from my Mum has been a challenge, particularly as I am not on her doorstep, however all of the staff and managers there have been amazing, respecting my Mums independence and providing excellent care and support. It's been so reassuring to know Mum was safe and not living alone. Everyone is so friendly, caring, kind and always have time for a chat. Nothing was too much trouble and if ever I had any worries, they were there to talk too. Supporting me as well as my Mum. I can't recommend and praise them enough, they provide a safe and welcoming place to live.

My mum and dad in their 80's, moved into Green Lane View in November 2025. Dad has a number of health issues and mum is his main carer. They are both quite frail but try to maintain a level of independence. From the first day they moved in, the staff at GLV have been kind and supportive, ensuring their welfare and safety without taking over or compromising their independence. My parents have appreciated the fact that there is always someone available if they have needed help or support. My brother and I have also found this very reassuring as we were constantly worried about them when they lived alone. They take advantage of the restaurant a couple of times a week, but they cook their own meals other days. Both myself and other members of my family have had a meal at the restaurant and the food is of a very high standard. Staff and residents organise a number of social activities which residents can enjoy if they wish. My family are extremely satisfied with Green Lane View.

Everything about Green Lane is excellent!

Mum moved into Green Lane View in October 2023 and loved it from the very start! Thanks to the managers, the care staff have been amazing, really looking after her and taking care of he needs. She made so many new friends in her short time living in her flat, getting involved in regular organised activities (such as Bingo!) and quickly settling in. The chef, provided a wide variety of lovely food, and the person for Housing 21, was always happy to help should mum have any questions about her flat. The whole team are superb. Thank you Green Lane View for all you have done for mum as you really made her happy! -:)

Regular events for residents and even a dedicated room for mobility scooters.

Mum has been a resident here for several years now with genuinely caring staff and Management. It is good to hear her laughing and singing with some of the staff and being encouraged to join in some activities as she is quite reluctant to do so but certainly enjoys them when she does. Nothing seems too much trouble for the staff and she thinks of them as family and is quite content living there. We as a family are very grateful.

Overall a fantastic place to live.

Lovely care Home. Perfect for my mum, just what she needed. The stability and care when needed. Start for all lovely. Very welcoming place and well looked after. The administration side could've been done a bit better but was done eventually.

Excellent welcome and care of my mother to familiarise her and to make her feel part of the community. Everyone has been so friendly, caring and communicative. She has coped with the upheaval of the move very well because of the diligence of the staff.

I've only been here 2 months but I've found everyone is very caring and helpful, kind and very nice.

The Green Lane View Care staff are a surprisingly happy team, from managers through to the junior members of staff. Its quality has been honed over the last decade to the excellency shown today. Through highly difficult times of pandemic and recruitment, the staff have displayed wonderful dedication in helping out with extended or extra shifts to maintain continuity of excellent care. This is an exceptional team, whose performance is impaired by excessive paperwork and outside interference.

It's hard to know what to suggest as improvements. Maybe a small shop on site for some items to help maintain independence, such as greeting cards and stamps? (Although residents can place orders for groceries and other goods).

I stayed in the guest room while visiting from overseas and found my friend to be happy and feeling well cared for by the staff. I found the staff extremely helpful and at all times pleasant and friendly to me, the residents and each other. The guest room was so good to be able to stay right there! The residents were friendly too and the whole place has a good atmosphere. Thank you.

Absolutely outstanding care. Dad was so happy living at Green Lane View. He was always praising the staff. The food was also very good, but when Dad became less able, he had food taken to the flat so he didn't have to cook. I would recommend this home; it is one of a kind.

I am impressed by the range of activities offered to residents. This has definitely been a very positive move for my mother.

Very supportive, caring and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Made moving into new accommodation easy and trouble-free. Their daily care has made my relative happy and relaxed in a relatively short time, which I am sure will help with her general health.

I have been a resident for just four weeks, needing support and the knowledge that carers are there 24/7 when I need help. I feel safe and very happy to be here. All staff, regardless of what they do, are caring, supportive and very happy to help. There is a good atmosphere of caring and happy staff which all residents benefit from.

Anyway, back to the review... Mum loves it at Green Lane View and our family are very happy she has a place there. Thank you all.

I believe Green Lane View does as well as can be expected towards its residents as low pay and consequent staff shortages allow. In general, the staff are kind and respectful in their demanding roles - there just are not enough of them. Entertainment and activities have always been very well done with much encouragement to take part. The restaurant - excellent when my parents first moved into Green Lane View - although currently satisfactory, as provide a very uneven service. The garden and grounds tend to look neglected - as, with a disappointing main meal, this is not good for morale.

The outstanding care and love my mum receives from all the staff at Green Lane View is faultless. The home is a very warm and welcoming place to visit and is always spotlessly clean in all areas. There are regular activities going on, which Mum loves and joins in with and she has made so many new friends, it's like one big happy family.
