I visited a friend today at the care home, a beautiful place. The staff was very welcoming and made me feel welcome the home. Absolutely beautiful and was very impressed. I give the home 10 stars - very impressive care home my friend gets the best quality care in the care home and the staff are superb.
Thank you for your kinds words. We appreciate you taking the effort.
My friend went into Thorburn Manor following a sudden bereavement and deterioration in her own health. From the start the staff were reassuring and kind to both her and to us. I was also reassured to know that many of the staff have been there a long time and still seem enthusiastic in their roles. The staff have not been fazed by the difficulties my friend has had settling in showing a tremendous degree of knowledge, professionalism and care for her during this time.
Lovely afternoon tea in mums room. Thanks for all you do for her. Merry Christmas to you all and best wishes for 2025.
The team will be delighted to hear your feedback. Merry Christmas
Thorburn Manor lay on a high tea in the library for residents and family members. The tea was delicious and the setting was so festive! This was a really lovely touch, thanks, and was much enjoyed by all.
Thank you for your kind review all the team appreciate it.
Sadly my mother passed away this week after only seven months in Thorburn Manor. From first to last she had the most amazing care from each and every member of staff. When she went in she had acute nursing needs which meant that the admission process had to be accelerated and the staff went that extra mile making us feel nothing would be a problem. This continued throughout her time in Thorburn. I cannot believe there can be a more caring staff anywhere. We will be forever grateful for the support and compassion we were shown in her final days.
Thank you for letting us care for your mother. We appreciate the review. I hope you are all well at this time. Best regards.
However, Thorburn came highly recommended by someone who regularly attended there and sure enough, from our initial visit onwards, the staff could not have done more to make her comfortable and as active as possible.
Even at the end, the staff provided a supportive and sympathetic atmosphere which made the process bearable.
So to summarise Thorburn Manor is somewhere that I highly recommend. It has bright modern facilities in a welcoming building with amazing staff.
Thank you with all my heart.
Thank you for your kind words. I'm very grateful you put your trust in us and that the team delivered for you and your wife. Take care.
The staff are amazing my mother-in-law is very happy the place is very welcoming and clean, my aunt used to be a resident here at Thorburn as well 10 years ago. My mother-in-law has been in the care home for 9 years and though she has difficulty communicating, she communicates her satisfaction non-verbally.
Thank you for your kind review. We will keep trying our best for you and your family.
Facilities good.
Continually keep family up to date.
As a family, we are very happy with the care given to our parent.
A caring environment.
Activities are geared towards the age group in the home.
Thank you for your great feedback - it's really appreciated!
Dad looked after very well. Allowed to stay mostly in his room which is his wish. He seems to enjoy the food. He has been here nearly 3 years without having any issues. The gardens and putting green are very nice in the summer.
After being a resident for the last five years, my father sadly passed away on 25th January. We are so grateful that in his last weeks, the care he received from all the staff was excellent. As a family, we are very grateful for the great care that he received. Thank you to every member of staff.
Thank you for your lovely words. We appreciate your care for us too. Our deepest condolences to you and your family. Thank you for your trust in us. Kindest Regards
Really pleased with today's Christmas High Tea. It was very well organised, the food was excellent and importantly mum really enjoyed it. Loved spending time with our Mum. The festive high tea was well prepared and organised.
Thank you for your great feedback. I'm glad the team put a good spread for you. Merry Christmas
Overall I am happy with the support and care provided for my mother at Thorburn Manor. The staff are kind and professional and all her daily needs are met. Rooms are kept clean and tidy and there are lots of activities available.
Mary arrived at Thorburn Manor in Sept she and we her family have nothing but praise for the staff and the quality of her care. She has settled in well. We had medical scare a few weeks ago and we were impressed with how this was managed by the staff.
Thank you for your lovely words. We really appreciate your support! I'm glad you think so highly of our service. We will keep doing are best to raise the standards
Many thanks
My mother has been looked after at Thorburn for one year. It is a lovely home. The building is light and airy with a lovely garden and a putting green. It seems like a hotel. The food is impressive with different menus. My mum has a clean room with an en-suite bathroom. The staff are very caring and professional and always smiling. They greet us and my mum by name and keep us up to date with what’s happening. They are so patient with her and know exactly how to manage her. Walking is very important for Mum and she is taken out whenever possible. She is safe. There is an extensive programme of activities and entertainment, including live musicians singing Scottish songs. We are often treated to tea and cakes. The local GP comes in weekly and any issues have been sorted. There is a hairdressing salon in the building which Mum appreciates. I am very happy with my mum’s care. When the time comes and I need care I would choose Thorburn.
I have found the atmosphere within the home to be warm, welcoming, and quite anti-institutional in it's design and décor. The facilities are first class and this is backed up by the superb staff. I have yet to walk into the home without receiving a warm welcome and smile. This transfers to the care my wife is receiving and I know she is very well cared for by each member of staff which provides a great comfort to me. There is a very varied programme of activities although my wife is only able to be involved with some of these, they do cover the opportunity for all residents to be involved in as many as they are able.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments - all the team really appreciate it
My Dad spent the last year of his life in Thorburn Manor, he settled in very quick and was very well cared for. The staff are very good with the residents. I always felt welcome and I am thankful for the care my dad was given.
Thank you
My husband and I have just had the most beautiful Christmas tea with my dad in the gorgeous library. We were so impressed last year and this year was equally impressive. The food was delicious, I think that dad's favourite bit was the trifle! All of the team at Thorburn Manor are so caring and attentive and I know that my dad thinks the world of them. From us as a family, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the kindness you show to dad and us. We hope you have a wonderful Christmas
Thank you, Helen. We greatly appreciate your lovely words. Have a great Christmas.
Thorburn Manor is a super care home. My parents are both looked after extremely well, both with their differing care needs. I am very grateful to all the excellent staff for all their hard work, it is a huge weight off, to know my parents are so well cared for in such a nice home.
Ann thank you so much. I'm grateful for your trust in us. We will keep trying our best.
Mum has been in Thorburn Manor now for over two months. She's settled in so well and seems very happy, which is so reassuring for myself and my brother and sister. The staff have been so caring and patient with her. She's enjoyed all the activities they do on a daily basis, including a trip on the canal barge and carol singing in Morningside. We just had a fabulous Christmas afternoon tea today with lovely sandwiches and cakes. All I can say is a big thank you to all staff.
Amazing feedback thank you so much. We are so glad your mother is settling in.
Lovely place which cares for Dad so well. Very grateful, thanks so much. Great to see him for Christmas afternoon tea. Keep up the good work all, Dad is so happy and settled here at Thorburn Manor.
Thank you for your support, David. Much appreciated. Sean Black.
