The staff are wonderful and very efficient in looking after our mother. My mother is so happy here and enjoys her accommodation and the friends that she has made here. Her room is always clean and tidy and her bathroom is spotless. Whenever we visit her, there always seem to be activities going on to entertain and stimulate the residents.
Thanks Allan. Glad to get such great feedback. Much appreciated, Sean.
Our family are all very happy with the care provided at Thorburn Manor. Mum has been a resident for over two years and is very well looked after and we have never had any concerns with her care. All the staff are very professional, friendly and kind.
Thank you for your lovely comments. Thanks for trusting in us.
Mum was in Thorburn Manor for three and a half years. During that time, she made many new friends and was always ready to take part in a very varied programme of entertainment. The staff organise lots of interesting and enjoyable activities for residents and are very good at gently encouraging people to try new things and have fun. The kindness and quality of care from everyone was wonderful and as Mum became frailer, the nursing care was excellent and she did not suffer any distress or discomfort. What surprised me was the support that staff also provided to my sister and myself in Mum's final days - I hadn't expected it and it helped us enormously. The first time I walked in to Thorburn Manor to see if it might be a suitable place for Mum, I felt there was something about it that was warm, kind and caring. It is a lovely bright and airy place and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I am so glad I found it as Mum was very happy there.
Thank you for your comments, Liz. It makes me feel proud you feel this way and I appreciate everything you have said and the support you have given us. I will pass your kind words on to the team. Best wishes.
A lovely care home which is small, friendly and very well designed and maintained. The gardens are also beautiful and provide a lovely environment for a visit when the weather permits. All the staff are very attentive, patient and caring as well as very helpful. There are a wide variety of events which take place on a regular basis within the home, and the recent family picnic day was a lovely and much-appreciated thought.
Thank you for your kind words. I will pass on to our team.
We are very grateful to the wonderful staff at Thorburn Manor for the care given to my mum. From the earlier than planned entry to the Jubilee celebrations, the staff went above and beyond to ensure not only my mum but my family were well cared for and supported throughout her stay. It's never easy to make these decisions when it's time for a care home, but I was reassured and relieved knowing she was in attentive, capable hands. The staff are a great team and there is a sense of continuity with a small regular team. The grounds and garden and the care home are so beautifully kept, we enjoyed our tea in the garden. I have no hesitation to recommend this care home to anyone making decisions about where and when they or their loved one should go.
Very happy with the care given to my Mum over the past year. The staff are always very attentive and caring. Would recommend this care home to anyone considering this home. Mum has always been happy to praise the food and staff.
Thank you so much for your kind words I will make sure to share this with the team who deserve such high praise. Kind regards Sean Black.
Yesterday my sister and I attended a lovely festive tea party with my Mum, arranged by the Care Home Team at Thorburn Manor. In these times of restrictions returning due to the Pandemic, it was wonderful to spend such quality time together. I congratulate them for ensuring that families are given every opportunity to continue safe visiting in the beautiful surroundings of Thorburn Manor. Mum has been a resident at Thorburn Manor for 8 years and our family have come to know the staff well during that time. Many have been with the Team since those early days and are always ready with a warm welcome. My Mum's needs have changed over the years, but the professional care and attention she receives have adapted with her to ensure she is always comfortable and supported.
Dear Sheila, Thank you for your feedback. I’m very glad you managed to enjoy yourselves. Merry Christmas.
We enjoyed our Christmas Tea with Dad today at Thorburn Manor. The organisation was great, the beautiful festive library and delicious food! The most important part was being able to have both my sister and I with Dad, all together to celebrate the festive season! The decorations in the home, the smiling caring staff makes such a difference. Dad is so happy and well looked after. We cannot thank the staff enough!
Thank you so much, we all appreciate your lovely comments.
My mother has been a resident here for 7 months and not only is the care given to her excellent but her quality of life has improved dramatically in that time. The staff are both caring and attentive and make events like birthdays and now Christmas, special for the whole family, despite covid restrictions. As a family, we are all very grateful for the outstanding care and support given.
Thank you, Ken, we really appreciate your kind words. Merry Christmas.
My father spent the last twelve months of his life at Thorburn Manor and his care was excellent throughout. The rooms, facilities and settings are very clean and comfortable, and the staff have always been warm, friendly, approachable and have always taken very good care of my father. During the last few weeks of his life, the staff were excellent in every respect, especially in their communication with me, their expertise in keeping my father comfortable, and the tender loving care with which they looked after him at the end. Thank you.
I wish you and your family the very best.
Take care.
Our Aunt was a resident in your care home until her passing January 2021. The kindness and attention she received are beyond words. Lovely management and staff are a credit to this nursing home. We have nothing but praise for everyone. Her last days were handled with such dignity and respect, as we were too. Unfortunately, during the last few months of the restrictions, we could not visit the same, but even then the commitment of management and staff was absolutely amazing...Thank you so much from us all as a family.
Thank you for your lovely words. Myself and the team really appreciate it. Please take care of yourself and stay safe
Thanks
Sean Black
Pleasant surroundings and staff. Consideration given to resident's eating tastes. Staff considerate and patient. Well run by management.
I was most impressed during my recent visits by the warmth and skilled nurturing care provided by staff. Thorburn Manor is a beautiful care home which sets high standards. The residents' rooms and communal areas are first class. Activities and therapeutic programmes are client centred and sensitively responsive to individual needs.
A relaxed, peaceful atmosphere. This seemed a happy place. They keep me fully informed about his care.
Mum was in Thorburn Manor for 9 weeks for respite and was looked after well. Carers were attentive, food was good and nutritious and the activities available to her were more than adequate.
I would recommend Thorburn without hesitation.
Thank you, Lesley, for your kind words it is great to know you feel contented with our service
Kind regards
Sean Black
My aunt lived in Thorburn Manor for almost a year and I was very happy with all aspects of care. When there was any problem one of the senior staff phoned me immediately. On entering the home, there was never a nasty smell as can be found in some care homes. There were lots of interesting pictures on the walls and I was always made to feel welcome. When the end was near, I would not fault the tender care given to my aunt and I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to anyone.
Dear Barbara
Thank you for your comments, I'm glad you found our services and care of the quality your aunt deserved.
Best regards
Sean Black
My mother has been a resident in Thorburn Manor for five years. She has always received excellent care and although is in an uncommunicative state, is always, to the best of my knowledge, treated with dignity and respect.
