Since coming to The Ashton my husband has done so well, with the good help of everyone he has come into contact with. I have respect for the manager, who is very approachable and a caring person, the nurses and carers who take care of him, and all staff. Since being there he has been encouraged to get
out of bed, take part in the activities and has sat in the garden. He is very settled and I would recommend this care home to anyone.

We contacted The Ashton Care Home in desperation as we were at a critical point with my step mother's declining health. My husband and my father visited the home at 10 am on Wednesday 29th March and were greeted with total empathy and care. Having explained the current situation at my parent's residence,
the manager quickly made the decision to get a room ready as soon as possible and was at the house by 11 am to assess my stepmother's needs, advising my husband that he will gain more information from her Doctors and he will be in contact as soon as possible. He contacted us within one hour to let us know we can take her in when she is ready, we were already very impressed. Ashton Care Home sent two ladies to the home to help with the distressing aspect of my stepmother going into their care home and I cannot speak highly enough of them and the manager, we are totally wowed and blown away by their professionalism, empathy, kindness and the natural care they have shown. Thank you.

Mum left The Ashton when it was in special measures and was in some chaos, she has now returned and the home is very different. The staff are excellent and very clean and she is back with her friends. I would definitely recommend it.

My mother moved to The Ashton Care Home the first week in January. The staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble. Mum has a beautiful room with access to a patio area and the food is excellent and after many years she is finally putting on weight. I was really impressed with the facilities
and staff when I visited and Mum seems so much happier being in The Ashton. I would highly recommend.

The respect, care and compassion shown by all staff to my mum in her final days could not have been better. Her sudden physical deterioration took us all by surprise, but the staff could not have been any more attentive to her needs and she was treated with dignity throughout. Additionally, myself and
other family members stayed 24/7 by Mum's bedside for six nights and seven days, we too were supported at all times. As a family, we would recommend The Ashton Care Home without any reservation. It truly is a special place, a home from home. Thank you.

My mother, suffering from advanced Alzheimers dementia, arrived at The Ashton care home after two traumatic months of being in and out of hospital. The Ashton became an oasis in the desert! The staff could not have been more caring or attentive to Mum's needs. Her room was bright and sunny, overlooking
trees and green spaces and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Sadly, Mum passed away after three weeks - this was expected. Even through this sad time, we were supported, as a family, with kindness and consideration by all members of the team. In death, my mum was given respect befitting the life she led. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Ashton care home.

My husband was recently transferred from hospital to The Ashton Care Home for palliative care. All of the staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming, not only to my husband but to his family and visitors too. Knowing he was secure and surrounded by caring staff who treated us all with dignity
and respect, was so comforting during what was an incredibly difficult time. Thank you so very much we won't ever forget.

We are very happy and relieved to have Mum in the Ashton care home, where she is safe, secure, well cared for and content. She is well looked after by the friendly, professional and endlessly patient staff. We are made to feel part of the Ashton family, where Mum is a valued member, always treated with

My daughter and I were lucky enough to have visited a friend at the Ashton several times before my in-laws moved in, during the pandemic. Whilst their stay so far has been far from normal for us, it has been reassuring to know that our relatives are safe and being well looked after. The staff have been
kind and helpful and we are looking forward to having more unrestricted visits in the future.

The Ashton, what a beautiful place and the staff are so very welcoming and caring - just the place you want your loved ones to be at, in later life. The management team were very professional, very caring for everyone that was there, everything they dealt with was done with the utmost care and attention
to the people concerned. Fantastic - that’s all I can say. People who actually look after your loved ones like they should be looked after, they treat people with dignity and that matters. Well done - keep up the very hard work that you do.

Mum came into the Aston in March 2020 as the country went into lockdown. Although we couldn't visit, we were able to talk to her through the railings. She is happy and the carers are doing a fantastic job looking after the residents. Mum enjoys the food and has no complaints.

My father has severe mobility problems due to long-standing hip arthritis, but good mental capacity, although, in his 90’s, he’s a little forgetful. He moved to The Ashton in January 2019, having lived with us for 16 months and previously independently in assisted living. Like many, he was reluctant
to move but recognised that we could no longer manage all his needs. He took a long time to settle, not helped by lockdown, but the staff have always been very patient and kind with him and he is now contented, particularly enjoying the meals and coffee mornings. He has never been one for group activities like quizzes or crafts but recently has enjoyed some outings. I appreciate the way the staff are always approachable and keep me informed of any particular needs or changes to Dad’s care. The manager has gone out of her way to get to know the relatives, with regular online team meetings and made visiting more flexible within the current regulations, which is much appreciated.

Very understaffed and undertrained nursing home, where the residents are the ones that suffer! Standards have been dropping consistently to dangerous levels. Medication is often not given on time and care plans are not detailed enough for bank nurses to use.

My mother went into the care home in March 2020, just prior to the 1st lockdown. Initially, she was unhappy about having to go there. Prior to that, she had lived on her own (in sheltered accommodation) and been very independent. However, severe deterioration of her health meant she needed more care,
and The Ashton seemed to offer that. Mum started to accept that being in there was best for her; this came about because of the excellent support of the staff. With Covid, we were unable to visit (although we spoke on the phone), and it was the efforts of the staff that really brought her around. She is now very happy there; she often comments on the great staff, the food, and the general care of the staff. For us, this is a great relief, and in turn, we are very happy that she is content there.

My Grandad is currently a resident at this care home. He initially went for a 2-week respite stay to give my parents a well-deserved break, but we were so impressed with how my grandad had settled in and started to improve and thrive, we made the decision for him to become a full-time resident, which
wasn’t the initial plan but it just felt like the right thing to do for him and was like home from home. The staff are lovely and so attentive, my grandad doesn’t usually like to be surrounded by strangers but he was happy and comfortable with all the staff from day one. He’s been given a new lease of life and the staff give him so much time and attention. They have been so helpful and taken care of things for my mum and us as a family so she or we don’t have the extra stress, they have sorted out medication, contacted his doctor/memory clinic to correct all the mistakes that have been made previously. They're looking after my grandad but also looking after us. Thank you.

Mum spent the last few years of her life as a permanent resident in The Ashton. My sister and I cannot fault the care and attention she received. She was happy, content and enjoyed the chats and giggles with the carers and other residents. The care home was clean, fresh and welcoming, and nothing was
too much trouble. The Ashton organised activities daily, outings and even brought Mum to my house when I held a charity coffee morning. Nothing was too much trouble.

My mother and father both resided at The Ashton Care Home. My father had dementia, and my mother was in bed most of the time due to various ailments. The staff were kind and considerate. My mother could be quite difficult, but they treated her with dignity, particularly during the last few weeks of
her life. The family was kept informed of all their care needs. There was always a warm welcome from all staff both carers, admin and domestic. Unfortunately, both my parents passed away last year. My father died in hospital, and my mother at The Ashton. In her last weeks at the homes, carers went out of their way to make my mother comfortable.
