My relative is thriving at Ashton. When he arrived he was very weak, now he is robust and happy. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. Everyone is kind, to my relative and to me. I feel confident that my relative is in a safe nurturing environment. He has regained confidence
thanks to everyone at Ashton.

The Ashton has been our saving grace for looking after Dad. As soon as Dad was in there, he settled very well. The staff are all very good with him and are attentive to his needs. I get regular updates about Dad's health if needed, and sit down regularly with the Head nurse to assess Dad's ongoing care.
We visit regularly, and the staff are friendly and attentive to us also. I cannot begin to tell you the relief we feel, knowing Dad is being looked after so well. The home itself has a lovely atmosphere, indeed, a home from home. Facilities are kept in really good condition. They provide regular activities which Dad enjoys, including music, games, and various other entertainment. All in all, we could not be happier, and neither could Dad.
Reply from Preet Hundal, Manager at The Ashton Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review of your experience at The Ashton.
Delighted to hear your dad has settled in so well and both he and your family feel supported and reassured with the care he receives. For the team its incredibly rewarding to hear how they are truly providing person centred care and will ensure to share your feedback with them. Its good to hear that Dad is enjoying all the activities and feels that the environment feels like a 'home from home' experience.
Thank you again for you kind words and trust in us and we feel privileged to care for your Dad and support you and your family.
Kind regards

My father was admitted into The Ashton on 02/03/26. He spent 5 weeks to the day on the nursing ward. The staff that looked after him were friendly, caring and very kind, doing their job with diligence. The room was small but bright and comftable, as dad was bed bound it was fire. I did find it noisy
as 'buzzers' were going off continually from other floors which was not conducive to rest. The food was better than expected and was always an option to the menu daily. Without having a comparison. The Ashton was a good fit for our needs in a difficult time.
Reply from Preet Hundal, Manager at The Ashton Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your father's stay at Ashton Care Home.
We understand this was a difficult time for you and your family, and we are pleased that The Ashton was able to support your father's needs. Your kind comments about our nursing team are greatly appreciated. We are very proud of our staff and the compassionate, dignified care they provide, and we will ensure your feedback is shared with them.
We are pleased to hear your father found his room bright and comfortable and that the food and menu choices exceeded expectations.
Thank you also for your feedback regarding noise levels. We appreciate you raising this, as resident comfort and rest are very important to us, and we continually review the environment to enhance residents' experience.
Kind regards,
Preet

Best care home I have experienced. Lovely rooms with proper ensuite and nice furniture.
The staff are lovely and the regular staff really get to know the residents.
There is plenty of room for residents to walk around and the communal lounge is large.

My mother moved to Ashton Care Home in October with advanced Lewy Body Dementia after being asked to move from her previous care home as they could no longer support her needs. Unfortunately, after mum moved her condition declined further and she passed away just a few days before Christmas. As you
would expect, this was an emotional and upsetting time for our family. The staff at Ashton were fantastic throughout this time, the level of care and consistent kindness and compassion mum received was second to none and it was very reassuring to us all to know she was being looked after so well.
At the end of mum's life, the staff at Ashton looked after mum with such care and dignity and supported us all so well, helping us all massively to get through such a very difficult time.
I have nothing but gratitude and thanks for the wonderful team of people at Ashton Care Home and would recommend them without any reservation.
Reply from Preet Hundal, Manager at The Ashton Care HomeThank you for your kind and heartfelt review.
It was a privilege to care for your mum, and I'm so grateful you trusted our team during such a difficult time. Knowing that you felt supported and reassured by the care and compassion shown to your mum means a great deal to us.
I will be sure to share your kind words with the team, who will be deeply touched. Thank you again for your recommendation and for taking the time to share your experience.

As a family, we are really pleased with the care that mum has received whilst residing at The Ashton. There's plenty for mum to do (mental and physically) and she's free to make her own choices from the schedule. The food is also perfect with lots of choice and her room is always spotless. The staff
are also attentive, compassionate and always wear a smile. We are confident that mum is getting the best of care in a safe and friendly environment.
Reply from Preet Hundal, Manager at The Ashton Care HomeThank you so much for your kind feedback. I'm delighted to hear how happy your mum is at The Ashton and that she is enjoying the activities, food, and comfort of her home.

Although my sister's time spent at 'the Ashton' was short. It was, from the family's perspective, the best place she could have lived out her life. Suffering from Parkinson's and Dementia 'the Ashton' gave her and her family, dignity, compassion, love, care and communication.
All this, her family will
always be grateful for. For all the right reasons you don't forget a place like 'the Ashton'.
Reply from Preet Hundal, Manager at The Ashton Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words about The Ashton. It truly means a great deal to all of us.
It was a privilege to care for your sister during her time with us. Our team was committed to ensuring she was treated with dignity, compassion, and respect at every stage of her journey. Knowing that this brought comfort to her and to your family is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to share your reflections. Your words are a reminder of why we do what we do, and they will be shared with our staff, who will be very touched.

As a resident here, I have completed several reviews for The Ashton. One thing I heard was that the carers, the younger ones especially, regard us residents as an extended family and as such work every bank holiday without any form of a grudge. This attitude makes for a wonderful atmosphere.
We get
superb meals which are to restaurant standard and together make this home a superb place to live.
Well done to all staff.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.635)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.635) out of 10 for The Ashton Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.635 for The Ashton Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (179 Excellents x 5) + (68 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 260 Ratings = 4.635
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Ashton Care Home is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
