My mother has been in Limewood for almost two years now. The care she receives is outstanding. Carers are friendly, chatty and always include Mom in conversations. It has been difficult for everyone with Covid restrictions; however, they have tried to keep residents safe with only caregivers visiting
on occasion. Communication between nurses and carers could be better, not sure if the information is shared on a daily basis. Manager of the home is very elusive; this is an area for improvement I feel, but overall, excellent care home and facilities.

My father was in care here for two years, I cannot fault the staff, he had excellent care, the staff are genuine and compassionate with their residents, we were kept well informed about any concerns they had with my father's welfare, my father in return felt comfortable and had a good relationship with
the staff even though he could be quite challenging at times. The food was excellent which my father was very fond of, the activities and facilities were varied and had excellent interaction and involvement of one kind or another to suit individual needs. It is very clean light and airy and has a good homely presence with comfortable surroundings. We cannot thank them enough for their excellent care in difficult times, we would fully recommend Limewood to anybody to have a loved one in need of a trustworthy care home.

My Mum moved to Limewood in March 2016, I was immediately impressed and continue to be impressed with the care and patience shown to all residents in what is often a very challenging environment.
The care staff often work long days which is extremely tiring but continue to display an air of professionalism
throughout each shift. Thank you for all you do for my lovely Mum, I leave her after each visit knowing that she is as safe as she can be.
Reply from Julie Harding, Director of Business Development at LimewoodSo pleased to hear that your mum is receiving quality care with us and the appreciation of the staff teams approach is noted. I will make sure that they are aware of your review.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.695)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.695) out of 10 for Limewood is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.795 for Limewood is calculated as follows: ( (154 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 190 Ratings = 4.795
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Limewood is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13, which has been reached with 16 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Claire’s enduring enthusiasm and unwavering passion for providing care are palpable throughout the home. Her positive energy serves as the catalyst for cultivating a warm, welcoming, and affectionate community. Claire says

“The most important part of delivering care is understanding that a one-size-fits-all approach won’t work and that each person needs to be at the heart of their own care plan. Everyone doesn’t fit into a box, and this is a core understanding here at Limewood. I treat everyone like they are a family member – if you think, would this be right and the best for my mum or dad and the answer is yes, then you know you are doing the right thing.”

"What’s nice is that management is always encouraging you to do new things; they want you to succeed. Even if you've had no experience of care, I think working here gives you confidence and makes you believe that you can. You can help - you can make a difference."
