Overall Experience
The staff ar the Elms are always helpful, courteous, kind, considerate and happy. Mum has been a resident since September 2023.
The rooms are always clean on a daily basis and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff.
Mum loves The Spangles and the activities.

I understand why family and visitors are no longer allowed the door code to exit the building but feel that perhaps we could be given the code from room 19 corridor through to the lounge. On a few occasions we have had to wait quite a while for a staff member to open the door when they are busy with residents.

Mum had been here for 4 years now and is well cared for and loves living at the Elms, the staff are excellent and ensure Mum is safe and well looked after. She loves her room and really enjoys the food and all the activities on offer.

My father was looked after with care and attention during what turned out to be the final months and weeks of his life. I greatly appreciated the support and good humour from the staff at a stressful time, when his physical and mental condition were deteriorating. I was always made to feel welcome...
My father was looked after with care and attention during what turned out to be the final months and weeks of his life. I greatly appreciated the support and good humour from the staff at a stressful time, when his physical and mental condition were deteriorating. I was always made to feel welcome during daily visits and was confident that he was in a safe environment. A big warm, thank you to all the team at The Elms.

My mother has been in The Elms for just over 2.5 years and has late-stage dementia. I have found the staff to be very helpful, very friendly and Mum is well cared for. There was an issue when Mum first moved in with regards to the washing of clothes, essentially everything goes in a tumble dryer...
My mother has been in The Elms for just over 2.5 years and has late-stage dementia. I have found the staff to be very helpful, very friendly and Mum is well cared for. There was an issue when Mum first moved in with regards to the washing of clothes, essentially everything goes in a tumble dryer and therefore everything was coming out creased but this has now been resolved. Being a specialist dementia care home, I find it really good that they do not have a high turnover of staff. Obviously some people come and go but the majority of staff have been there all the time Mum has been at the home. I would definitely recommend the home to anyone whose loved one has dementia. I don't think the website does it justice as Mum is in the new bit at the back and the rooms are a very generous size.
