A big thank you to the manager and staff for making a special effort on the occasion of my mother's 90th birthday and providing a fantastic buffet. As always, the staff were cheerful and helpful. They always go the extra mile. Thanks again.

This home was well thought out when constructed for the ease of both residents and staff alike, the staff are very friendly and helpful. the location is very central to the town itself and good transport connections, and near both hospital and surgery if required.

They have made dad feel extremely welcome. All members of staff at any level go out of their way to help him feel at home. They are extremely pleasant, happy and helpful in every way possible. The home is beautifully designed and spotlessly clean and well kept. We can not fault it in any way and would
highly recommend it to anyone.

Brilliant care home for my mother-in-law. She seems very happy in herself with a lot of activities to participate in. It has a safe, warming environment with approachable members of staff. Our family are very happy with her care and can rest knowing she is safe and content there.

What a lovely clean and friendly home. When you walk through the main entrance just feels like home, cosy and safe.
The staff are outstanding, always willing to help. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They don't mind going out of their way to help in any way they can. They are like friends.

My mother is residing in this home and I cannot praise the management and carers enough. They are all fantastic. They really go the extra mile with concern for the residents. My mother is safe and that is worth the world to our family. Well done Llys y Seren!

Our relative has been in Lays y Serena since opening, receiving excellent care from the all the staff, as his needs have changed over the years he has moved into three of the units in the home. Staff treat him respect and encourage him to participate in events organised in the home. Accommodation is
first class, en-suite room giving him full independence together with being large enough now when he requires assistance in day to day needs. Clearly, a family atmosphere of caring exists in the home with general wellbeing of residents is always in mind.

Couldn't have picked a better care home for my grandmother.
The home itself is clean and modern with amazing facilities for the residents. I visit the home on a regular basis and the residents are always so happy.
All members of staff are approachable and always attentive to my grandmother's needs.
As a family member, I enjoy visiting Llys-Y-Seren because all staff and managers make me feel so welcome.

My mother has been in Llys-Y-Seren for several years. The facility is great - the communal areas are bright, modern and home like, with a nice garden to walk in. Each resident has their own room and personal en-suite bathroom.
The staff take tremendous care to make sure that the residents are happy
and well cared for. They are always decorating the home with the seasons/celebration days. The menu is varied, food great and the staff make a huge effort with the residents to liven up their day with different activities.
The staff are kind and have the patience of saints.
I am so impressed with Llys-Y-Seren that I want to book in for my retirement!

This was my first visit to Llys y Seren and I cannot express how welcome I felt from the front door onwards. The home is beautifully modern but has a real homely feel to it. I was there with a friend to visit a friend of ours who we knew from the church. We asked at reception where the unit was and
was expecting directions, so it was lovely a surprise when we were shown personally to the unit. On entry to the unit, the residents were participating in an activity. Staff were very attentive and getting everyone involved. I was impressed with the unit and was overjoyed to see how happy my friend is there. Their afternoon tea looked like something you would get in a tea room and was told the meals are even better. It was nice to see trips and activities advertised and photos of past activities where everyone was clearly enjoying.
I enquired on my exit is it too soon to put my name down on the waiting list.

My first visit to the home due to living away was not what I expected the home is beautiful and modern. I found the care staff extremely attentive to my Aunty and the other residents there they were friendly to me whilst remaining professional. After my visit, I passed the big room on my way out where
there was an activity taking place. Everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves and the place felt alive. There were photos on display of previous activities and was pleased to see aunty joining in and looking included. I'm so glad to see my aunty so happy and well looked after

Couldn't have asked for a better care home for my Grandmother. Every single member of staff goes above and beyond for all of their residents - making them feel welcome, safe and content. The home itself is clean and modern with amazing facilities available for the residents. The staff also carry out
a number of fun activities and special events, ensuring that all residents are occupied and enjoying themselves. I visited the home on a regular basis and the residents were always so happy and comfortable, including my Grandmother. She absolutely loved being in this home right until her last day, and I can't thank the team at Llys y Seren enough for all they did for her - the amount of help and support given to us as a family over the years has been greatly appreciated. If you're looking for a care home for your relative, look no further than here. Absolutely amazing! 10/10!

I was blown away when I first visited Llys Y Seren. It was more like a hotel than the preconception one can have of a care home. The Staff are welcoming and the residents always look happy and are busy doing activities. I have attended their regular fetes with my family and again everyone is involved
from the Management to the residents. The Manager was keen to take the time to engage with us about a prospective vacancy for an elderly neighbour who may require residential care in the future. I was so impressed with the standard and service of the home that I informed my friend to contact them with regard a vacancy for her Aunt. They were also so impressed with the running of the home that they proceeded and her Aunt is the most settled she has been in years.

Last month the residents put on an Art exhibition which was displayed in Aberafan Town Centre which was not only a lovely thing to do but raised the profile of a wonderful Care Home that I would 100% recommend.

I have a positive experience about my brother in law's stay at Llys y Seren. He is happy and well cared for. His needs have changed, so has the care he gets. Staff are nice and are good at what they do. The meals are good and the service he gets is excellent.

Llys y Seren is a beautiful, well presented, clean and extremely friendly care home. The staff are hardworking, dedicated and treat the residents and family with the utmost dignity and respect, making it feel like home.
My only concern is the staffing at night - as each unit including the secure units
have only one member of staff at night. I feel this puts immense pressure on the staff and so have the potential for the standard of care to drop at night. I feel the home should invest in more night staff to ensure the high standard is both day and night.
Reply from Morag Firth, Head of Residential Care at Llys y Seren

To reassure you, we actively review staffing levels on a regular basis to ensure the number of staff on duty are able to meet any change in the needs of residents. Currently there are 7 staff on duty overnight at Llys y Seren: 1 per unit plus an additional senior member of staff who can provide additional support.
