Joanne is the Registered Manager at Cherry Blossom Care Home and a Registered Mental Health Nurse with over 13 years’ experience working across a wide range of complex and high-risk care environments. Her background includes medium secure and forensic services, custodial settings, nursing homes, and specialist brain injury services. Joanne is deeply committed to delivering person-centred, recovery-focused care and to improving outcomes for people with complex health and neurological needs.
She began her career as a newly qualified nurse in a psychiatric hospital and quickly progressed to Ward Manager, driven by her commitment to clinical excellence, strong leadership, and service development. Joanne later moved into a Deputy Manager role within a nursing home, where she gained valuable experience leading teams and ensuring high-quality care for residents with diverse needs. From there, she joined the prison service as Mental Health Lead, providing strategic oversight of mental health provision within a challenging custodial environment.
More recently, Joanne has worked as a Registered Manager in a specialist brain injury service, leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care. She brings a calm, values-led leadership style, underpinned by strong clinical expertise, robust governance, and a clear focus on continuous improvement.
Outside of work, Joanne enjoys spending time with her family — her husband, two daughters, and her beautiful granddaughter — as well as their much-loved (and very spoilt, occasionally naughty) labradoodle, Theodore. She also enjoys weekends away, taking time to relax, recharge, and indulge in a little retail therapy.
