My mother has been a resident here for nearly one year. She has been cared for with kindness and compassion, nothing is too much trouble. The staff are always friendly and happy to include the family in all aspects of Mum's care. The food is good and varied, especially the full English breakfast, a
daily treat.
I would not hesitate in recommending Westerfield House to friends and family.

Amazing care home - mum arrived just days before Christmas but was treated like she had been there forever. With personalised care, friendly staff, all Mum's needs are being met. Couldn't ask for more. It's a wonderful home.

My aunt has been at Westerfield House since March 2022. I was initially concerned about her going into care but have been completely won over by the brilliant and compassionate staff, amazing and safe environment, and outstanding ethos and service from everyone at Westerfield House. For anyone like
me who has heard only horror stories about care homes the experience of reality with Westerfield House staff, facilities, amenities, professionalism etc. could not be more reassuring, and my aunt absolutely loves it there and couldn't conceive of being anywhere else now. The rooms are well cared for, and feel like the resident's home, not some institution. I haven't eaten there, of course, but my aunt adores the food and the menu seems well thought out and moderated to high nutritional standards. The staff are wonderful. All of them. Auntie has just celebrated her first Christmas there and continues to thoroughly enjoy her new home and friends (guests and staff).

The resident to which this review relates has been living in Westerfield House Care Home for approximately three and a half years. Since moving in she has always found the staff to be very caring and helpful to her and is very grateful to them for the way they look after her. The Care Home is very
clean and well maintained and is very ably managed by the Manager and her Staff who are always readily available should the Resident or their next of kin need to discuss anything with them at all.

After careful consideration, we had to make the difficult decision to place Dad in full-time care. Lots of research later lead us to Westerfield House. The staff are friendly and sympathetic to the needs of the whole family and professional.
Dad spent his final days here and the care he received was
so kind I knew we made the right decision sending him here and I would recommend to anyone to do the same should the need arise. The care is personal to the individual - days and trips out to suit every interest, the food was of a very high standard and the rooms airy and clean, but it is the staff and their caring attitude which shines through the most.

My younger sister had to go into respite care for a few months, whilst not ideal for her very young age we chose Westerfield House.
We cannot praise all of the staff highly enough but the carers were truly amazing in the way that they cared for my sister with such genuine care and compassion - we
are so very grateful to them and will never forget the time she spent there.
Being a nurse myself I have been in many homes and Westerfield House in my opinion is one of the top ones in Ipswich.

My husband is at Westerfield House and he has the best care he could possibly have.
The owner goes to see every resident and asks how they are and if there’s anything special they would like.
The staff and managers are all so caring and I am so grateful to them all for looking after my husband so
well.
He couldn’t be in a better place.

My dad decided to move into the care home about 6 weeks ago. Despite his sadness on leaving his home, he was made very welcome and settled in very quickly. Unfortunately following a short spell in hospital, he was moved to end of life care. He was so pleased that Westerfield House took him back from
hospital for his final days. The level of care, love and compassion the staff showed to Dad, and to the visiting family was exemplary and provided much comfort to us all. We cannot praise the staff enough.

Westerfield House became my mother's home in September 2016. She came for respite, liked it and stayed. The Home has a friendly, joyful and warm atmosphere. The care is of an exceptionally high standard. The building as a whole is extremely clean, fresh-smelling, and the food is good. The owner lives
locally and is often about. He makes a point of getting to know the residents and their families. We are all special, he cares. All of the staff are friendly. For many, this is not just a job, for they care passionately about the Home and the residents. I have never ever felt guilty about my mother being in care for I know she is happy, well cared for, safe and well-fed. Westerfield House is a special place.

Mum became a resident of Westerfield House Care in February 2020 and I have certainly had nothing to worry about. I am always kept informed of whatever action needs to be taken to keep her well. The staff are extremely caring and kind. It has been a difficult year for all concerned, but I have never
been in any doubt that the residents within the home have been well looked after, with rigorous procedures being put in place to keep them safe. It may not be to everyone's liking - it is difficult not being able to see one's relative - but if it keeps the residents and the staff caring for the residents, safe, then the procedures have to be adhered to. Activities are encouraged but if a resident does not wish to take part and would rather stay in their room, then this is fine, as is wishing to have meals in their own room rather than in the dining area. Nothing is too much trouble. It's good to know that mum is in a place where she is well looked after and treated with respect.

My father was a resident for 4 years and always received good care. When my father arrived from hospital he was over his operation, however, he couldn't do much for himself. He improved within days and steadily got back to normal over the next 6 months. The staff are all friendly, not just the carers,
but the cooks and domestic staff too. There is a high standard of cleanliness. The food is varied and of excellent quality. The managers and owner are all very friendly and approachable, and genuinely care about the residents.

My mother has received the highest quality of care, warmth and kindness during her 4.5 years of residing at this excellent Home. From the warm welcome at reception, the very high standard of cleanliness achieved by diligent housekeepers, the delicious and nutritious menus carefully planned by able chefs
and well thought out activities and entertainment ... to the quality of well trained, approachable and thoughtful carers, astuteness and attention to detail of very accessible managers (who however busy, always make themselves available to family members) and the determination of the owner to own a residence which is truly special, this Home is a total gem. Heartfelt thanks to everyone at Westerfield House; I thoroughly recommend this fabulous residential home.

Over the past year, Mum's care has been exemplary. At 94, she was unable to continue in her own home and the levels of support and care provided have been just right; increasing to match Mum’s needs as they have grown.
Her room is bright and welcoming. The staff are cheerful, obliging and highly skilled.
The management is friendly and efficient. Mum has made friends and particularly enjoys mealtimes, armchair movement sessions, choir and the monthly church service.
We visit the home several times a week, at random times and feel that we have a thorough overview of the standard of care.
We have been impressed by the level of medical care provided, with routine tasks such as medication, being efficiently carried out and they have referred queries to their GP and other agencies, keeping us fully updated but without having to be prompted by us.
This has been an excellent option for our mother’s needs and enabled us (as sons) to offer worry-free companionship and outings.

The friendliness and kindness from the directors down through all the staff at Westerfield House is incredible. My husband is well cared for and is very happy there. The meals are chosen from a menu and are very good. At mealtimes, there is plenty of staff on duty to help the residents to manage their
food.
The whole place is very well maintained and has a lovely atmosphere.

We found everyone from the manager to the cleaning staff friendly, professional and compassionate. The room was furnished nicely and we were given help moving mums belongings in and help when sadly we had to cleat the room. The buildings are lovely and very user-friendly. Unfortunately, my mum was not
in good enough health to fully appreciate what was on offer. I saw plenty of activities being carried out to help stimulate the mind and keep bodies active. St the end we were well supported and felt cared for.

Westerfield House provides very good care within a very comfortable well-equipped home which often resembles a hotel experience rather than a care home.
Our family have had experience of two other care homes and Westerfield House is very refreshing in its levels of care and comfort.
Staff are friendly
and attentive and special mention should be given to both the food and activity management which is exemplary.
The cleanliness and hygiene practices appear impeccable.
Some very talented care professionals are involved at Westerfield House and we are very grateful.

I cannot thank all the staff at the Westerfield House Care home enough for the help and kindness they have given to my dad and to our family to help dad adjust to a different way of life. Being once so independent and then having to adjust to ask for help has been hard for him. But with the patience
of everyone there, he is now settled and happy. I can now relax and be worry-free knowing that he is being looked after so well.
