Dad's dementia came on quickly followed by Alzheimer’s. We kept him at home as long as we could but had to look for options. We looked at 3 homes but Manor Grange shone above the rest. From the minute we walked in the process was pleasant and easy. The manager talked through the process and spent time on a tour, with no pressure whatsoever. Moving Dad in was difficult but made so much easier by the staff. Despite the challenges of COVID, they were friendly, courteous and treated him like a guest. Dad has now been a resident for 3 months - he is settled, well-fed, comfortable and above all, safe. We are also reassured he is in very good hands. The team are brilliant - I get regular calls updating me on his condition and I am always looked after when I phone up or pop in. Dad is in a much better place and is doing very well. His bedroom, the facilities, the atmosphere and the staff make this feel more like a hotel than a care home. We rest easy knowing he is very well cared for.

Manor Grange kept us informed of COVID developments and they facilitated regular family contact with my husband through Zoom meetings and socially distanced meets behind a screen when possible. My uncle and aunt were our first family residents in the care home and this care home far exceeded their previous care home - in every respect - my only regret is that they weren't here from the beginning. When it became apparent that my father needed care, he personally chose Manor Grange after seeing the care his sister-in-law and brother-in-law had experienced. We had no hesitation in agreeing with him especially as I had been next of kin contact for my uncle and aunt. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the staff have been extremely diligent in their care of the residents and have done everything they could to facilitate contact with relatives during this time. When my father was seriously ill with coronavirus, we had a great deal of comfort knowing he was being cared for by staff who knew him rather than being in hospital. Every concern that we have raised has been dealt with promptly and resolved to our satisfaction.

Although you have not had the opportunity to visit Manor Grange, we have been trying to maintain a level of service in a pandemic which has changed the way everyone works.

I have been very impressed with the way the home has adapted during these difficult times and kept deaths to an extremely low number considering their clients are very vulnerable and most are very elderly. I could tell you of the tremendous pressure we all felt trying to maintain a level of normality with loved ones, but some of the innovative ways in which we tried to overcome the limitations of contact was wonderful to see. With the move to stage three of the visiting strategy, I am nervous, but looking forward to welcoming you once again into your mum's home.

My mother has been a service user for a few years now. The facilities in the home are excellent and the staff are helpful, attentive, professional and caring at all times. A significant amount of work has been done to improve the activities available within the home. The activities staff are focusing on continuous improvement and looking at ways of using technology to allow families to get closer to their relatives.
