Facilities are excellent, food is of a very good standard and the staff are genuinely caring.

Many thanks for taking the time to complete this review. I was fortunate enough to bump into you during your visit and was delighted to feedback to the team your kind review. It has been a challenging experience for people living and working in care homes during the past 18 months, but to see the smiles all round when loved ones come in again, is worth all the hard work. Many thanks again.
I am so glad that you recognise our staff in your kind review. We do our very best to make everyone's stay here as pleasant as possible and I am really hopeful that it wont be long until you can visit freely indoors and see all the wonderful things that go on.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It is a pleasure having your mum here, and she really does get involved whenever possible. The team do try extremely hard to make life here as pleasant and fulfilling as possible, and I am only glad that your mum is part of that. I will make sure that the whole team are aware of your kind thoughts. Thanks again.
Many thanks for taking the time to write this extremely positive review. You are so right about the trials we have all faced in the last year, but for you and your husband, more so. We try really hard to make the transition as straightforward as possible and I am glad that, despite the limitations enforced through Covid-19, you have managed to have regular contact. This will only get better and better as the limitations on visiting ease for all. I will make sure that all the staff are aware of your kind words and experience. Thanks again.
Many thanks for taking the time to complete this review, I will make sure that the staff are all aware of how positively your father feels about his stay. It has been an extremely difficult time for everyone, but doubly so when the restrictions imposed by Covid-19 are added. We will continue to try our very best to provide a service we can be proud of. Many thanks again.
Thank you for your generous review. The team feel very privileged to have the opportunity to support such amazing residents. Every day brings new challenges in the current climate and every day the team rise to the challenges. The support of our wonderful relatives really helps and we are eternally grateful for the patience and compassion of you all.
Thank you for your Marvellous review of our Home. The team at Manor Grange are exceptionally humbled by your kind words, each one of them gives 100% to make sure our residents receive only the very best care.
As you say, this has been an incredibly challenging time and am so glad that you have taken the time to write this review. I am ever hopeful that it wont be too long before your husband can get back to seeing his beloved football team play again, it was certainly one of his highlights. I do believe that communication has been key during the past four months and am pleased that the weekly updates have been helpful. I will pass on your kind thoughts to all departments, thanks again.
I cannot thank you enough for your kind words, I will make sure that all staff are aware that you appreciate their endeavours. It is extremely hard for families who are having to support their loved ones from living at home, to a care setting at the best of times. But even more difficult when you are not fully able to see personally the surroundings and people your mum will be living with. Thanks again, and I hope to see you soon when we return to a semblance of normality.
Please accept my gratitude that you have taken the time to write such a positive review of our care home. Even though these very challenging times, we try to provide as much continuity as possible. Our staff have worked small miracles during the last 4 months, trying to maintain a high-quality service in unprecedented times. Thank you.
It is with much sadness that I have read your review and acknowledge the delays which you have mentioned. However, they do not reflect the exceptional care which is delivered by our extremely hard working team to all the people who come to stay here. Although you have not had the opportunity to visit Manor Grange, we have been trying to maintain a level of service in a pandemic which has changed the way everyone works.
What a wonderful review, it can be quite difficult to boast about all the fantastic things which continue to happen, even during lockdown. But to have this sort of recognition for the people who strive so hard to make each day an event, this is a terrific thank you which I will most certainly pass on. Many thanks.
It has been a particularly difficult few months with the staff facing challenges which could not have been predicted, and I am glad that you have commented so positively. It makes me very proud of every department who came to work, even at the height of the outbreak, and smiled their way through. I could tell you of the tremendous pressure we all felt trying to maintain a level of normality with loved ones, but some of the innovative ways in which we tried to overcome the limitations of contact was wonderful to see. With the move to stage three of the visiting strategy, I am nervous, but looking forward to welcoming you once again into your mum's home.
We have had quite a time of it lately and it has been hard trying to stay safe and keep regular contact with families, but I do think that the team have done a great job keeping the contacts going. This has helped both of you and your mum. It is still a bit difficult with using PPE and taking temperatures etc, but is always about keeping everyone safe.
Soon the shielding will be over and we can start to do more, but in the meantime, I am grateful for you taking the time to write. Thank you and see you soon.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have been a bit overwhelmed by the amount of positive comments made by relatives and friends of the people who live in Manor Grange. It's not just a reflection of the past 4 months, which have been incredibly hard for everyone, but the years before that when we were fully open, what a place to behold.
I cannot wait to invite everyone back again when it is safe to do so.
In the meantime, I am grateful for your kind words and will make sure the staff know too.
Many thanks for taking the time to write this kind and thoughtful review.
You will know how hard the team here work to ensure that the people living here have the very best experience even in such a difficult time.
I look forward to the time when we are again able to welcome one and all to this wonderful home.
Given the particular challenges you have encountered during the Covid-19 Pandemic, and your inability to visit your wife as you would normally have, I am grateful that you can see the efforts that all the staff have made to try and support your contact safely.
This is not new to you and I think that after two years you are speaking from an informed position, I thank you.
We are all looking forward to the next relaxation and a bit of normality.
See you soon.
What a lovely review and you have my thanks and that of the staff who work so hard to make Manor Grange a home. I always pass on to staff when families and loved ones take the time to write reviews such as yours. It has been quite a challenge lately as you know, but to get such positive comments makes it all worthwhile.
I am looking forward to the day that the doors are open once again and everyone can enjoy the fantastic place that is Manor Grange.
Thank you.
Many thanks for your kind words and recognition of the high quality of care your mother receives at Manor Grange. I will ensure that the care and catering staff know of your views.

Gordon has worked as a Care Home manager for 15 years in Edinburgh and is keen to provide the highest standards of care possible for the home residents.
He is passionate about creating a culture of positivity and warmth within the home.
He is married, has 4 boys and lives in Dunfermline.
I chose a career in nursing in care for the elderly as I am very passionate about advocating for those living with dementia. I am very new to Manor Grange but hope to bring my skills and knowledge to the team. In my previous post as a Charge Nurse, I won Nurse of the Year for the whole of the UK in 2016. I have extensive knowledge of dementia and strive to make every day a good day for our Residents here at Manor Grange ensuring that their choices are respected at all times.
I trained as a General Nurse but found my passion was in caring for the elderly focusing on dementia care. I have done a lot of research into this area in the last 20 years and have worked in the Scottish Borders as well as Edinburgh. I enjoy being part of the team here at Manor Grange and I enjoy my role as Charge Nurse immensely. I feel we are a great time and give the highest level of care to each of our Residents.
I have worked in the care sector for 20 years, I started off as a Carer at TOR nursing home and then moved to the Laundry, when TOR closed I moved to Manor Grange along with the residents. While working at Manor Grange I was promoted to Head Housekeeper, my job role consists of leading the housekeeping team and ensuring that our high standards of cleanliness are maintained within both cleaning and laundry. I also liaise with Residents & Relatives to help identify and resolve any problems which may occur.
I have extensive experience working in both Domiciliary Care and Residential Care as a Senior Care Assistant as well as an Activity Coordinator and I hold my SVQ Level 3 in Social Care for Adults. My role which I adore is very diverse and as well as planning daily activities I also organise many special events throughout the year and always am “cooking up” some new ideas. I enjoy building strong relationships with both Residents and Relatives. I lead a small but growing team of Activities staff who are all dedicated to bringing joy to our Residents. I can honestly say that Manor Grange is the best place I have worked in, we are a big family and this is “Home” and not “A Home”.
