Bright modern well-designed purpose-built care home with luxury en-suite bedrooms. The home is situated in lovely grounds with views across a golf course to the distant Pentland Hills. All staff are professional and very supportive to residents and relatives - they're all lovely. You have the opportunity to book "fine dining" for family celebrations - the chef goes out of his way to provide something special. I can also confirm that the daily menu is varied and wholesome having sampled it on numerous occasions. There is a daily activity programme which is varied and stimulating and the opportunity for residents to have a trip out in the minibus.

Overall Experience

Until March 2020, when lockdown started, I had visited my wife approximately 6 times per week since 1st March 2018 when she was admitted to the Manor Grange Care Home. During this period of two years, I had always found everything to my satisfaction as measured against a set of nine criteria which I developed and shared with the management of the care home.

Given the particular challenges you have encountered during the Covid-19 Pandemic, and your inability to visit your wife as you would normally have, I am grateful that you can see the efforts that all the staff have made to try and support your contact safely.

This is not new to you and I think...

My mum has been a resident in Manor Grange for 2 and a half years and my sister, myself and our families are extremely happy with the care our mother has been given. The staff and all the carers have been amazing. My mum has been well looked after. She was nursed through two serious illnesses and due to the care and love from the staff has come through the other end. I would absolutely recommend Manor Grange.

What a lovely review and you have my thanks and that of the staff who work so hard to make Manor Grange a home. I always pass on to staff when families and loved ones take the time to write reviews such as yours. It has been quite a challenge lately as you know, but to get such positive comments...

Care and facilities are overall extremely good. Communication between residents and staff could be improved in relation to opportunities to be involved in activities/outings. More help with putting on TV etc. would be appreciated.

I chose a career in nursing in care for the elderly as I am very passionate about advocating for those living with dementia. I am very new to Manor Grange but hope to bring my skills and knowledge to the team. In my previous post as a Charge Nurse, I won Nurse of the Year for the whole of the UK in 2016. I have extensive knowledge of dementia and strive to make every day a good day for our Residents here at Manor Grange ensuring that their choices are respected at all times.

I enjoy being part of the team here at Manor Grange and I enjoy my role as Charge Nurse immensely. I feel we are a great time and give the highest level of care to each of our Residents.

I can honestly say that Manor Grange is the best place I have worked in, we are a big family and this is “Home” and not “A Home”.
