Situated in a quiet area in the suburb of Crosspool in Sheffield, The Porterbrook is a private residential care home offering a home-from-home experience and high quality care for residents in a luxurious environment.

The all-inclusive setting is comfortable and offers a range of high quality facilities, including: en-suite luxury rooms as standard; highly trained and qualified staff; a cinema room; an on-site chef and fine dining; a piano bar; hair salon; library; terrace; spacious lounges; an aromatherapy room; a balcony; and a conservatory.

Lynne brings a wealth of experience to her role as Home Manager at The Porterbrook.
Having completed her nurse training at Sheffield University, she worked in a number of hospitals across a variety of wards, including general surgical and cardiology before pursuing her passion of caring for the elderly in care home settings.
Lynne, has worked in care homes in Sheffield and Rotherham and is privileged and honoured to now be leading The Porterbrook Care Home team and to be providing the highest possible care for all the residents.

Laura worked as Housekeeper at the Porterbrook since it opened in 2016.
Laura has gained a multitude of experience and qualifications whilst working at the Porterbrook, including an NVQ level 3 in hospitality and leadership.
In March 2022, Laura made the decision to move away from the housekeeper role and took on the role of Office Manager. Laura can always be found at the heart of the Porterbrook. Kevin has been working at The Porterbrook since 2016, when the doors first opened! He has always worked within the care industry and started out as a ‘Care Assistant’. Kevin has always found the roles he has worked in very rewarding and fulfilling.


While being at our home, Kevin has had a number of different roles, the latest being a Receptionist. At times, the role can be challenging, but he really enjoys learning new tasks and especially developing his skills.

Her job at The Porterbrook is ideal, and she enjoys meeting and helping people in such a caring environment and loves the variety that my role involves.

Job Title: Librarian

Brenda is one of our residents and has recently taken on the role of being our in-house Librarian. Brenda says, “I like being useful, and I love to write, but don’t do it often now. I love looking through the books and their covers and choosing which ones I might like to read. I’ve been told we might be starting up a mobile library for residents in their rooms, and then I will be stamping or using tickets for the books.”
