Lynne brings a wealth of experience to her role as Home Manager at The Porterbrook.
Having completed her nurse training at Sheffield University, she worked in a number of hospitals across a variety of wards, including general surgical and cardiology before pursuing her passion of caring for the elderly in care home settings.
Lynne, has worked in care homes in Sheffield and Rotherham and is privileged and honoured to now be leading The Porterbrook Care Home team and to be providing the highest possible care for all the residents.
Laura worked as Housekeeper at the Porterbrook since it opened in 2016.
Laura has gained a multitude of experience and qualifications whilst working at the Porterbrook, including an NVQ level 3 in hospitality and leadership.
In March 2022, Laura made the decision to move away from the housekeeper role and took on the role of Office Manager. Laura can always be found at the heart of the Porterbrook. She prides herself in ensuring all our visitors; relatives, friends and professionals receive a warm Porterbrook welcome whether it be on the phone or in person.
With over 15 years’ experience in the care industry, Joanne looks forward to sharing my knowledge and contributing to a culture of warmth, compassion and resident-focused leadership – with a smile, of course!
She’s eager to support our continued growth and collaborate with like-minded colleagues who share the same passion for excellence in care.
Siphilisiwe’s work at The Porterbrook gives her fulfilment as she sees the smiles and twinkle in each and every resident’s eyes. Knowing that she is making a difference in people’s lives gives her joy. Siphilisiwe enjoys working at The Porterbrook Care Home as she is part of an incredible team that works together to ensure that every resident is not only healthy but also happy.
Marie has worked in care since 1992 and is currently a Senior Care Assistant here at The Porterbook, having joined us over 5 years ago. She has had many roles since the start of her career and has a wealth of knowledge in the care industry.
Mathew is a dedicated Senior Carer with five years of experience supporting elderly and vulnerable individuals. He specialises in personal care, medication management, and mentoring junior staff. He chose The Porterbrook Care Home for its commitment to high-quality, person-centred care and a supportive team environment. His passion is ensuring residents receive compassionate care that enhances their well-being, and he is committed to making a positive difference every day.
Temi is a compassionate Senior Healthcare Assistant dedicated to providing person-centred care. He has extensive expertise in both community and clinical settings, including adult social care, substance misuse services, and residential support. Temi strives to uphold the highest standards of dignity, safeguarding, and clinical practice by combining empathy, professionalism, and a genuine dedication to improving the lives of those in his care.
Neve joined The Porterbrook in 2023 and soon became one of the team and has developed into a fantastic carer. Neve has always had a passion for our residents’ safety, wanting to understand how and why some may fall and looking at ways to reduce the risks. With this, Neve has now taken on the role of Falls Champion and strives to ensure our residents receive the highest quality of care around the clock.
Joanne has been working within the care sector for the past 24 years and has been working as an ‘Activities Co-ordinator’ for the past 7. She absolutely loves her role within The Porterbrook and finds her job rewarding.
Joanne enjoys making our residents happy and supports them to live a happy and meaningful lifestyle.
She goes the extra mile to organise events and makes sure our residents within our home can continue with their hobbies or are supported to pursue new interests!
Cam joined The Porterbrook in February 2024, having worked in maintenance for several years. After retraining from the hospitality sector during the 2020 lockdown, he started his career in facilities management at a student accommodation complex. Since this, Cam has managed facilities for several businesses, including a number of restaurants in Brighton & Sheffield.
Genny joined The Porterbrook in July 2024, having previously worked as both a housekeeper and care assistant for over 20 years in private residences, care homes, and healthcare. She is embracing the task of ensuring she maintains a clean and safe environment for all our residents.
Kevin has been working at The Porterbrook since 2016, when the doors first opened! He has always worked within the care industry and started out as a ‘Care Assistant’. Kevin has always found the roles he has worked in very rewarding and fulfilling.
While being at our home, Kevin has had a number of different roles, the latest being a Receptionist. At times, the role can be challenging, but he really enjoys learning new tasks and especially developing his skills.
Elaine joined The Porterbrook as a part-time receptionist in April 2024. Having retired from more than 35 years of working in the healthcare sector in admin and finance roles, Elaine soon decided she wanted to carry on working and to do something rewarding and worthwhile. Her job at The Porterbrook is ideal, and she enjoys meeting and helping people in such a caring environment and loves the variety that my role involves.
Brenda is one of our residents and has recently taken on the role of being our in-house Librarian. Brenda says, “I like being useful, and I love to write, but don’t do it often now. I love looking through the books and their covers and choosing which ones I might like to read. I’ve been told we might be starting up a mobile library for residents in their rooms, and then I will be stamping or using tickets for the books.”
