My wife and I have power of attorney for two elderly ladies who have been at Lostock Lodge now for 3 weeks. We have been very pleased with everything so far. The ladies are happy and settled. Communication with the staff is excellent and they have always been most helpful. The atmosphere in the Lodge is relaxing and welcoming. This situation puts my wife’s mind at rest and therefore takes a lot of pressure off me. Thank you.

The home has a great atmosphere, staff are friendly and people are well looked after. My friend went in on respite and has improved significantly since being at Lostock Lodge. The activities, environment and care have really helped.

After my mother lost her husband of 60 years rather quickly, the shock of the next step in her life alone has been really tough. Lostock Lodge has made that very hard step easier by being a warm, friendly and caring environment. The facility is modern, clean, vibrant and special and the staff are attentive, courteous and hard working. We are all very pleased that Mum has settled. It is a tough time for her grieving, being alone in some ways yet making new friends at the same time. Lostock Lodge are supporting her very well.

My father has been in Lostock Lodge for 4 weeks now after moving from a short-term respite home in his hometown. We had researched several other residential homes in the area. The home had a fresh, light and comfortable feel and has always been our first choice.

The quality of the staff, the friendliness of the other residents and the excellent overall service at the home have all contributed to dad deciding on his own to stay on a permanent basis. This is always a difficult decision for someone, having been so independent for so long. We would not hesitate in recommending Lostock Lodge Care Home to anybody considering residential care.

My dad moved into Lostock Lodge care home at the end of August 2018. The staff could not have been more helpful with the transition, he was made to feel part of the 'big family' straight away and he is now happy and settled in his new home. The care and the food are very good and I would have no problem recommending this care home.

My Dad has been a resident at Lostock Lodge since January 2017, and refers to it as “Home, Sweet Home”.
Sadly, my Dad’s health has deteriorated over the past few months, and after a recent stay in hospital, the amazing management and wonderful staff have gone above and beyond to help keep Dad at Lostock, working closely with the family to help support Dad’s changing needs.
It is a very worrying time watching a loved one battle with dementia, but knowing that you have the support of the fantastic team that care for Dad so well is very reassuring, as well as truly heartwarming. Having got to know my Dad over the months he has been a resident, continuing to provide the continuity of care, the familiar, friendly faces and very comfortable surroundings going forward means the world to my family, as I am sure that it means everything to my lovely Dad too.

A huge heartfelt thank you to the Manager and her team that continue to do themselves proud on a daily basis.

Lostock Lodge Care Home is a purpose-built care home, bright, airy, with comfortable lounges and space to move around with zimmer frames and wheelchairs etc. I have been here seven weeks to accompany my stroke-disabled wife. My own care requirements are not very demanding, but my wife needs 24hr care and also has dietary requirements. The staff are all very kind and caring in their different ways and there is a lovely, warm atmosphere.

My mother has been at Lostock Lodge Care Home for a year. The difference in her in that time is amazing, she has various health problems that she was neglecting before she moved into the home. The staff there have been brilliant and very supportive both to mum and me.

Lostock Lodge Care Home provided very good care for my father for the final three months of his life. The staff were really caring and spotted any signs of illness swiftly, putting in the appropriate action immediately. The mental stimulation provided by the Activities Team was great, I would suggest that even more of this is made available, particularly to those in a secure dementia unit. The care that was provided to the family when Dad passed away was extremely good, the staff treated us with a lot of care and support through a very difficult time.

My Mum moved into permanent residency at Lostock Lodge in the middle of February 2018. Mum has already made some friends among the residents.

The management and staff have been very supportive during this stressful period of adjustment. The level of care provided by Lostock Lodge would have been impossible to match if my Mum had remained in her own home.

My nan is on the dementia floor. Some staff seem to be untrained on how to look after and interact with dementia patients. I have seen them arguing with the residences, instead of agreeing and go along with what they say, otherwise they get upset.
I can visit for over an hour and no-one will check on her. Her bathroom often smells of wee, I clean it when I visit. There aren't any towels in the bathroom and if there are they are dirty!
I go once a week in the morning to shower her. Some days she has gone to bed in the clothes from the previous day. She has at least 2 pairs of underwear on.
Often no pillowcase/bed sheet or duvet cover are on her bed- and when there is it can be dirty for days.
It upsets me that my nan is paying a lot of money and not getting the basic care!
The food is lovely, they come into her room and give her a choice of breaky. Lunch and tea times are the same which is good for routine.

We have spoken to the management about this and we are waiting to see if things improve.

Having spent my working life in healthcare services, I have seen many care homes so when my mum needed care I had some concerns.
However, as soon as we entered Lostock Lodge I knew we were somewhere special. The building itself is like a luxury hotel and the staff were all kind and welcoming.

Every time I visit I get the same impression. This is an excellent facility. Mum has settled in well and is enjoying the food and being looked after.

We approached Lostock Lodge in the first instance as Respite Care for Mum back in November for 4 weeks only - but realised very quickly that Mum would be getting far better care if she stayed permanently with the family at Lostock - it was closer to her family here in Cheshire and she would be more stimulated during the day. It has taken a good 6 weeks for Mum to stop asking to go home but is now settled and enjoying all the festivities on offer at the home - she is loving the crafts, knitting, painting classes and more recently the choirs.

Thank you Lostock for settling Mum in so quickly - she now has lots of friends as well as her family to talk to.

Extremely positive. Lostock Lodge provides care - care that is physical and emotional. There is an upbeat ethos that is welcoming and cherishing. All the staff are friendly and supportive of both the residents and their families.
The decor, furnishings and food are also top class but it is the care that is most important and this has been superb.

Thank you, Lostock Lodge.
