Over all time Vida Grange has 57 reviews.
My husband has only been at Vida Grange Care Home since October but the care he is receiving is excellent. The staff are so understanding, kind and gentle. It is very heartwarming to see the way they are with the residents. Nothing is too much trouble from reception, catering, laundry and the carers.
Thank you so much for your feedback! I will pass this on to the team at Vida Grange!
I would like to highly recommend Vida Grange as an excellent specialist dementia care home. My husband has been at this facility since May of this year to the present day and I have found all of the staff from reception, maintenance, kitchen, laundry, cleaners, well-being, carers, nurses and administration staff, of a very high standard of caring and professionalism. A big thank you to all of you, for a job well done by each and every one of you.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. I will pass this back to the Vida Grange team!
The care my brother is receiving from Vida Grange is second to none. The staff who look after my brother are very professional and always take time to make sure that he is comfortable, included and part of the Vida family! He is happy and settled, despite his condition and is always keen to engage with the staff. Their love and support for him and his family, has made both my brother’s and our lives significantly better and I can recommend them as a beacon of excellence in this area. Thank you, Vida!
Thank you for your lovely review! I will pass this on to the team at Vida Grange.
The patience and care shown by the staff is exemplary. They manage to diffuse difficult situations and still keep cheerful. Although my husband is a messy eater etc, he is always clean and tidy. There are activities for the residents most days and team talk, which provides family and friends with information and keeps us updated. If your loved one is very sadly unfortunate enough to require dementia and other care, this is the place for them.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. I will ensure this is passed on to the team at Vida Grange.
Deciding to place my husband in care has been the worst time and decision of my life, but has been made so much more bearable by everyone at Vida and I am comforted knowing he is receiving the very best care. From the very first day, he has settled in well and the care and support shown to him, and me overwhelms me. Vida Healthcare really are first class dementia care providers.
Thank you for your lovely review. I will ensure the team at Vida Grange see this.
Vida is in a completely different league to all other home's I visited. Smaller units within the home make it more intimate and secure for the residents. The quality of staff training and development of their understanding with regards to dementia is amazing. Also, the staff ratio to residents is much higher than most other homes. Food quality, is also excellent, nothing is skimped in their service. I cannot speak highly enough of Vida.
Thank you so much for your review! I will ensure all departments receive a copy of this!
Prior to becoming a resident at Vida Grange a year ago, my father had experienced dementia care in 4 other local care facilities in North Yorkshire. None of those facilities came anywhere near the quality of care he is now receiving. Although the restricted visiting during the pandemic has been difficult for him, the staff and the family, I know that since going to Vida Grange, his physical health issues have been closely monitored and improved. The individual caring approach and mental stimulation from regular activities means he also seems much calmer and happier. The communication from the management team and day to day carers is head and shoulders above other care homes we have experienced, both in terms of content and delivery, especially the use of online technology to communicate during the pandemic. I no longer get phone calls advising me of falls or incidents and the relief and reassurance that he is now being cared for properly, as he deserves to be, for me is priceless.
Thank you so much for your feedback! I will pass this on to the whole team at Vida!
My mother has been a resident in Vida Grange for the last 18 months. She has complex needs and can be very challenging. Despite this, the staff initially managed to improve my mother’s quality of life enormously. Her care needs have now increased and are more complex. They continue to treat her with dignity and care. The senior staff are incredibly skilled and support me too. I don’t believe there is another care home which could meet my mother’s health needs living with advanced dementia.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I will pass your comments to the team!
My husband is living with Alzheimer's and the last couple of years have been particularly difficult and challenging for the both of us. Thankfully he is now a resident in Waterside at Vida Grange and at last I have total peace of mind in the knowledge that he is receiving the best possible care. All the management and staff who I have been in contact with have been so kind and considerate to the both of us and he seems to be settling in as well as can be expected. Thank you all so much.
Thank you for your kind words, we are so happy you have peace of mind. I will pass your comments to the team.
I can’t speak highly enough of Vida Grange. We couldn’t ask for any better care for my husband. Every member of staff I’ve met or spoken to, have instilled me with confidence that this is the right place for him, despite our long drive.
My father suffers from Young Onset Dementia and after multiple nursing home placement failures from so called ‘Dementia & Challenging Behaviour Specialists’ and the belief that my father was unmanageable (as they told us multiple times), we finally found Vida Grange. Dad has been there just over two months with virtually no issues, compared to previous homes where we would be getting multiple daily phone calls with issues and problems. Vida Grange really know how to deal with complex behaviours, they truly understand dementia and the person behind it. My Dad is being treated as he, deserves - with love and respect. They keep us updated regularly via their Vida app and weekly family meetings. We have no complaints and would recommend them to anyone. We have found no other care home that can come close to them, even with us having to travel 1.5 hours.
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. I will ensure this is passed on to our incredible team. We are so glad you're part of the Vida family.
Dad has mixed dementia so I find it strange and worrying that some care staff ask him to remember things as they know he can't. Dads response is to raise his hand to his face looks sad.
Feel initial fantastic review needed updating as we move forward.
My wife has been in Harlow Carr house at Vida Grange for over 2 years. I give full marks to the way the home is run and must emphasise that the home is nothing without the right staff. The care staff on Harlow Carr are so kind and loving; I am full of admiration for the way they look after my wife and the way they treated me when I visited. Life for me is not easy as I have not been able to hold my wife for over 7 months and this has an effect on both of us. I know it is necessary and Vida must abide by the rules but pray it will end soon.
Truly outstanding all-round care in very challenging times. Our family is so relieved to have found Vida. We’ve been very impressed by all the staff and the care they take with each resident as an individual. The small houses are also perfect for supporting people with different needs in homely groups.
I can sleep at night knowing he is in safe hands and being cared for by well trained and loving staff.
To care for a person with dementia you have to have endless reserves of patience, empathy, resilience, cheerfulness, and a genuine affection for the sufferer. So to see that Vida Grange has care and nursing staff, cleaners, reception staff, right through to finance, laundry and maintenance personnel, who have these qualities in abundance, means a huge amount. My sister's recent visit (from 200 miles away) has also been an objective confirmation that I couldn't have found anywhere better for my partner to stay and be looked after. She was so impressed with Vida Grange and the staff on Waterside and has not stopped telling anyone who will listen how wonderful it is. It's also brilliant to find that nobody has any reluctance to stand and listen to any issues you want to raise and that they actively seek you out to talk about any aspects that they know you're going to want to hear about.
1) track suites shrunk don't fit. 2)Shoes washed and left in dryer misshaped and useless.
3) T-shirts not ironed or folded so they are badly creased I have to refold them each day as his drawers are a mess. He is used to clothing ironed properly and folded neatly in order to maintain dignity and self-image.
Otherwise overall excellent and the food is exceptionally good.
My father came to Vida Grange as his Alzheimer's Disease was advanced and his previous home could no longer meet his needs. He settled quickly and it really was a home from home, the carers and all staff are very responsive to the resident's needs and it is a lovely environment, bright and welcoming and very comfortable for them all. The staff are always polite, friendly and caring and communicated really well with the family concerning my father's well-being. When the end came they could not have done more for him and for us and we will always be eternally grateful to them for making his last years so comfortable.
Things go wrong, people get poorly, buildings break, plans get disrupted but it's a true measure of a team how well they resolve these challenges. In my experience with Vida, they are proactive at addressing problems and very good at listening to family concerns. There is a sense that throughout the organisation they genuinely care for clients and will do whatever they need to do to provide a good service.
The team of carers surrounding my father seem to be very good and key staff members are excellent. It's truly heartwarming to see the bond carers share with my father and high level of compassion they show him. Given the situation, I know he is in the best possible setting.
I have no hesitation in recommending Vida Grange (or Vida Hall) to anyone looking for dementia care for a loved one.
