Delighted with how happy mum is on our visits. Lovely staff: (carers, cleaners, gardener, activities organiser, reception etc). Mum is comfortable, looked after well and enjoys the people she lives with.

Having visited a number of care homes over the years, I was not very keen on coming into one myself. However, it is hard to fault the experience I have had so far. The care, thoughtfulness and consideration shown by everyone in all departments is remarkable. The patience shown by staff when busy and under pressure is exemplary.

Mum seems very happy here in her second year. There is always lots going on to keep people entertained. The lady who arranges the activities does a great job. All staff seem to know Mum well and she enjoys their company. The lady who is the main carer on Mum's floor is excellent.

My Dad stayed at Foxhunters for respite care while we were on holiday. When he arrived he was smartly dressed and sitting upright reading the paper and conversing normally. When we visited him on the day we returned (following a call from the care home to express concerns over his not eating) we found him delirious, lying on the bed barefoot and in stained clothing. That was a Saturday. It took until the Monday for the care home to get a doctor to him despite repeated requests. By this time he was totally incoherent and had lost a significant amount of weight. He was eventually admitted to the hospital where I was told he was suffering from severe dehydration. The hospital raised a safeguarding concern. The organisation and processes of care were totally haphazard. Needless to say, the home hid behind records which evidenced that procedure had been followed but these were all for show and did not reflect reality at all. Shocking level of care. Do not put your loved ones here!

Some of the staff were lovely at Foxhunters. Unfortunately, my mother passed away here on the 7th of December, and the bracelet she was wearing disappeared never to be seen again, this was very upsetting to family members, please be aware of your relative's jewellery.

Reply from Leah Mort, Home Director at Foxhunters Care Community

I am so sorry that your mother’s bracelet was lost whilst she was in Foxhunters Care. As I discussed with you when we met, as the bracelet was elasticated, we can only assume that it came off with her clothing when staff were supporting her. Despite an extensive search, which included the laundry...

My dear friend has recently passed away after staying at Foxhunters approx 4 years. I visited her often during this time, more recently, have been there every day for over a week. Whilst the home has all the basic needs, clean, comfortable, lots of food. It is my observations of the staff I wish to commend. Male and female from professional to non professional. They are the most attentive, happy, cheerful people with empathy, compassion and love for each attendee, knowing them all by name, serving their every need. The resident hairdresser, again cheerful, attentive making the ladies look beautiful, eyebrows and nails, they love it and she loves them all. Whilst Foxhunters home is beautiful, it's nothing without the dedicated, hard-working staff to enhance it and make it home for so many.

I first came to Foxhunters in 2021 while my children were away for a week, and the same again in 2022. I found Foxhunters excellent, although I didn't join in any activities. The food was very good, and the staff were kind and helpful. As I walk with a zimmer frame, I found it difficult to get about and do things. The staff helped me shower each morning and brought me coffee or wine whenever I asked. A television was provided and I could watch it whenever I liked. I will certainly come back again and would highly recommend it.

I am a friend of a resident and can say although she has Alzheimer's she is treated will great respect and dignity. The home has a "resident of the day" programme and I always get a report about her in detail on that day.
The staff are wonderful.

I recommend Foxhunters to anyone.

I genuinely cannot praise the carers enough, their patience, kindness and affection is exemplary. The home is well run, spotlessly clean and always welcoming, the love, care and joy that they give to my friend shines in her happy face, and their cakes must not be missed.

Mum is struggling to settle away from her home but could not be in a better place with kinder and more understanding staff. They are tireless and caring, especially the two staff members who cope with her at her most difficult. All the staff are wonderful.

The environment at Foxhunters Care Community is just beautiful - my father has been there for the last 8 months and every time we've visited it has been equally immaculate and smell free! The gardens are lovely and the view of the mountain unbeatable. The staff are very approachable, helpful and professional and not understaffed. Sadly most care homes I contacted to find somewhere for my father were not this way. Phones rang for a long time before being answered, sometimes no one on reception, spoken to very abruptly, calls not returned etc, and the same experience with a home he was in briefly. From my and my father's account, the great majority of carers here are genuinely caring, kind and friendly, and the manager has been helpful with listening to and addressing concerns. There is a really good range of activities throughout each day - something for everyone. Food has been a bit below expectations which is the only slight downside.

As soon as you go through the entrance you feel as if you walked into a 5 star Hotel. Some of the residents are usually sat chatting playing cards/games having a drink in the cafe area, they all seem at home and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Mum has been bed-bound for over 10 years and as her health was deteriorating and needed 24 hour care we had to find a care home with nursing. We visit weekly, Mum's own room is clean and the bedding is freshly laundered and the room smelled lovely. Mum has admitted that it was the best home we could have found for her, Mum has told us that the staff treat her with respect, nothing is too much trouble and most importantly they take their time feeding her and seeing to her personal care. Mum has been in Foxhunters Care Community for over a year now and we have no concerns about her care. Thank you to all staff

Excellent modern facility. Well designed communal areas with wide corridors connecting private bedrooms. The rooms and bathroom are high quality and always spotlessly clean whenever I visit. Laundry and general upkeep is of a very high standard. On a personal level care and nutrition of residents is something that sets Foxhunters Care Community apart from other care facilities. With the cruel onset of dementia, it’s a credit to all members of staff at Foxhunters, that your loved ones are in capable professional care and just not another number.

The care has been excellent. I have been notified of any problem. The care and support of my husband has been great. The care staff have been lovely, always pleasant and kind. Residents are treated with respect and kindness during my visits. Having owned a care home, I appreciate the difficulty of caring for dementia residents.

The admin staff are always available, cheerful and able to help with any queries. The care staff are amazingly patient and kind and will sort any problem promptly and efficiently. They are all trained well in handling dementia. The nurses know what they are doing! My mother's condition has improved greatly since she was admitted and, despite being very resistant to going into nursing care, seems to be quite settled and comparatively contented. The physical surroundings are attractive and although my mother is unable to take part in most of them, the range of activities and services provided seems to be excellent.

Following my mother's recent fall, and subsequent stay in hospital for a week or so, the staff at Foxhunters Care Community have been amazingly helpful with arranging visits and keeping me informed. My mother always says that they look after her so well, and she can have whatever she wants. She's very happy there, and their facilities are modern, airy and beautifully kept up. Highly recommended!

While as a family, we were on holiday my mother needed respite care. I found it difficult to find somewhere that could look after her for just one week. I approached Foxhunters Care Community and from the first email to the end of my mother’s stay I founded the staff professional, helpful and kind. My mother and I had a tour of the home to ease her fears before the stay. Foxhunters is all you could wish for your relative to stay safe. She had a lovely time, the food was excellent, the staff and other residents were friendly and she found the whole experience enjoyable.

What an absolute disappointment to see a self-described award-winning facility not treat my mother-in-law with the dignity she deserves and promised. Foxhunters has proven to be a shiny new pin, but we have discovered the pin is hollow. Saying sorry repeatedly is not good enough when action is required.
