I am so sorry that your mother’s bracelet was lost whilst she was in Foxhunters Care. As I discussed with you when we met, as the bracelet was elasticated, we can only assume that it came off with her clothing when staff were supporting her. Despite an extensive search, which included the laundry and all other areas, it could not be found. We appreciate that this was distressing for you and are extremely sorry. We did offer to replace it at our cost but you declined. Clearly, we understand that we could not compensate for the sentimental loss. All of your mother’s gold jewellery was returned to you as were all of her other possessions. We always do our utmost to care for all possessions belonging to everyone living in the home. Please accept our sincerest and heartfelt apologies.

We are sorry that you feel so negative about the care your mother is receiving. We always pride ourselves on the high standards of care given to those living in the home, the positive comments we receive are testament to this. We have apologised directly to you for the miscommunication. We have offered you the opportunity to meet to discuss this but you have not responded. We did not lie to the social worker. Your mother has not been left on her own in her room for 11 weeks. Staff spend a considerable amount of time with your mother whilst undertaking personal care, assisting her with her diet & offering activities. Your mother’s loss of speech is as a result of her deteriorating condition – this has not changed since her admission to the home. We have never refused visits to see your mother and have welcomed you to the home whenever requested. We acknowledge that your mother has lost weight since her admission but not 9Kg as you state, this was an issue prior to admission. We will ensure that we do everything to ensure the transfer to another home is as seamless as possible and until then, continue to offer a high standard of care.
