I am seeking to remove my mother after 11 weeks of a catalogue of failings and "mistakes"(someone outright lied to a social worker). Since arrival, my mother has been left alone in bed alone for 11 weeks. She has lost the power of speech. No attempt was made to have a chair in her room and engage in the facilities they promised (and she is paying for). She is not allowed visitors/private carers to read to her or talk to her, and she has lost 9kgs and no one at Foxhunters told me. I am horrified.

We always pride ourselves on the high standards of care given to those living in the home, the positive comments we receive are testament to this. My husband spent the final days of his life in this care home. I cannot find the words to express my thanks to all the staff for the excellent care, compassion and support that he and I received during that time. The professionalism of all the staff, as well as their kindness and the way in which my husband was treated with dignity and respect, was second to none. The setting and facilities at Foxhunters are truly beautiful, but these pale into insignificance compared to the standard of care which all staff provides. I am so thankful that my husband was able to spend his final days here, receiving the love and care he so deserved!

My mum seems to be relaxed and happy since being transferred to Foxhunters earlier this year from hospital after suffering a stroke last year. After visiting her for the first time last week, she was chatty and making jokes and has her sense of humour back, I am sure the nursing staff and carers have been party to this. Very impressed with her room and the amazing bed! She loves the food and has told us she felt like the queen when the chef came to visit her when she arrived to go through her menu choices, she was very impressed. The level of care has been phenomenal and we are so happy that she has had such exemplary care. We are so grateful as a family that the staff have done everything possible to protect all the residents during the Covid pandemic, it is much appreciated and has been hard on the residents, families and all staff. The level of helpfulness shown by all staff to us has been amazing, this truly seems to be an extremely well-run and happy home.

My mother has been a resident of Foxhunters Care Community from a month after it initially opened. The surroundings are wonderful, very high quality both inside and out. The home feels like a home, not a care home, and I am sure that this contributes a great deal to her wellbeing.
The standard of care is very high. I have total confidence that my Mother is receiving the best of care. Her condition has improved beyond all our expectations since she moved in. The last year has been an extremely difficult one, but the staff have always kept us informed of the latest developments with visiting restrictions, and have been reassuring and clear around the situation with my Mother.
The programme of activities is very good, very engaging, and the staff do their best to find something that will interest all of the individuals there. The food is excellent, and her diet is catered for well.

I would recommend Foxhunters very highly to anyone thinking of moving a loved one there.

My mother has been a resident at Foxhunters Care Community since February 2020. She arrived just before lockdown in March 2020.
Mum has late stage Alzheimer's and was 91 years old when she arrived. We have been delighted with her care and the way her dignity has been preserved. Mum, unfortunately, suffered a stroke last July and is now totally bedridden but we know how hard everyone works to care for her. As a daughter, it's such a relief to find a home where you have absolute faith in the staff that work there. It gives you peace of mind to know she is being well cared for.
It is a huge responsibility to find a home for your ageing parent and not a decision to be taken lightly.
I can only speak for my family and in our case it was the best decision we ever made.

I have nothing but praise for the way my mother has been cared for in Foxhunters.

My Mum has been a resident for over twelve months and in that time the set-up and staff have been outstanding in the care and attention that she has received. Mum is "well on down" the dementia road but is made to feel wanted and is shown total respect. I am sure that the staff are not allowed to have their favourites but my Mum has often said: "I think I'm one of her/his favourites" which helps to illustrate the personal touch. Well done to all staff members and long may it last.

On behalf of myself and my sister, we wish to add a new review on our dear mother who has been at the Foxhunters since 2019. Last October our mother became very unwell but due to the care she has received from all staff she has become stronger and has improved, nothing is too much trouble and we are both grateful for the love and care our mother continues to receive. Thank you all.

Having to vacate our house whilst it was being repaired due to flood, we managed to stay at a care home in Abergavenny for respite care because my wife is certified severely sight impaired, and I am wheelchair-bound due to a stroke.

This was in Foxhunters Care Community which is a newly built home for up to 70 residents. Each room has an en-suite shower room. The ratio of staff to residents is at least one to one, and I am in awe of them because they were constantly smiling no matter who shouted at them. Weeks came and went, and on Christmas Day, we each received a Christmas present consisting of a bar of chocolate, a bottle of eau de cologne, and some socks. Christmas lunch was up to four-star standard including a starter of smoked salmon and prawn cocktail, a full-blown roast Turkey main, all prepared by three chefs and three helpers. My wife and I could find no fault during our three-month stay and will have no worries if we have to spend the rest of our lives here.

Unfortunately Mum was quite ill when she went into Foxhunters at the start of March, so she wasn't able to enjoy all the home's wonderful amenities. however, she received the most wonderful care and attention from all the staff, night and day. We were aware Mum was on an end of life pathway under the care of the hospice and I could not have wished for a better last few weeks for her life. I shall be forever grateful to all the staff at Foxhunters.

My mother spent the last six weeks of her life at Foxhunters, and I could not have asked for anywhere better for her final days. She was cared for extremely well, with compassion and consideration.

I would highly recommend the care facility for anyone considering such a home from home.

My five weeks in Foxhunters were most rewarding - I entered quite weak and in pain. The care and medical attention bestowed on me were beyond comparison. When I left respite care had done its purpose, I was able to return to my normal routine (before the accident). Thank you.

Just the most lovely nursing home we could have found. Mum stayed for two weeks respite following major surgery and could not have been better looked after. Every member of staff we came into contact with could not have been more helpful and caring. Nothing was too much trouble, we were welcomed as a family, even though Mum was only there for a short stay. The activities and facilities second to none, fabulous food and welcome for visitors just amazing. Great nursing care and the assistance with a hospital visit during Mum's stay, just all made a huge difference in Mum's recovery. Would have no hesitation in returning or recommending Foxhunters Care Home to anyone. Amazing place, staff and residents. Thank you all.

Foxhunters is an outstanding home. The staff are so kind and obliging and the whole place is absolutely lovely.
The residents are very well cared for and treated with the utmost respect and dignity.

My aunt is very happy at Foxhunters and my husband and I could not contemplate there being a more caring and considerate place to spend her remaining years.

Everyone was helpful.
I could ask questions and felt safe.

Food was very good. Staff were friendly/helpful. NB, when needing to use toilet, no toilet paper. Also there was a dead fly and dirty tissue in the drawer in the cafe kitchen. Staff weren't around interacting with residents when needed. An argument arose between a couple of ladies as there was no one to intervene.

My mother has been a resident at Foxhunters for over eight months. Her care has been exemplary and very responsive to her unfortunately deteriorating condition. She is always treated with such care, staff are mindful of preserving her dignity at all times. The support to her and us as a family has made a potentially difficult time so much easier to contend with. As an ex-nurse who worked for several years in the care of the elderly sector, I know and appreciate that the standards of care, service and award-winning facilities at Foxhunters are rare indeed. There is a full programme of events and activities daily. All residents are supported and encouraged with engagement but are able to decide the level to which they wish to be involved. A big thank you to the Director, Manager and all the staff, you are amazing.

Just visited my friend who has dementia and now resides in Foxhunters. What a wonderful, caring place. Clean, well-furnished, excellent food served in a very pleasant dining room. My husband who has dementia seemed well settled for his respite visit and will be happy to return, we have been made very welcome by all staff. We pop in from time to time so he keeps familiar with the environment, lovely room and what was most important to him was that he was able to wander into the garden and weed! anytime and they also catered for this rather weird diet.
