Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident at Foxhunters for over eight months. Her care has been exemplary and very responsive to her unfortunately deteriorating condition. She is always treated with such care, staff are mindful of preserving her dignity at all times. The support to her and us as a family has made a potentially difficult time so much easier to contend with. As an ex-nurse who worked for several years in the care of the elderly sector, I know and appreciate that the standards of care, service and award-winning facilities at Foxhunters are rare indeed. There is a full programme of events and activities daily. All residents are supported and encouraged with engagement but are able to decide the level to which they wish to be involved. A big thank you to the Director, Manager and all the staff, you are amazing.

Just visited my friend who has dementia and now resides in Foxhunters. What a wonderful, caring place. Clean, well-furnished, excellent food served in a very pleasant dining room. Plenty of things for residents to do and all helped by the most caring set of staff I have ever seen. Well done Foxhunters, keep it up.

My husband who has dementia seemed well settled for his respite visit and will be happy to return, we have been made very welcome by all staff. We pop in from time to time so he keeps familiar with the environment, lovely room and what was most important to him was that he was able to wander into the garden and weed! anytime and they also catered for this rather weird diet.

I regularly visit a family friend who has moved into Foxhunters. The home is absolutely beautiful, the food is fantastic and I am always made to feel welcome. More importantly, our friend is extremely well cared for, the staff are attentive and supportive and she is enjoying learning new hobbies with so many activities to choose from. I love hearing her stories about the different activities she’s been up to each day!

My husband came to stay for 2 weeks respite. The whole experience for me was wonderful. He was very happy with his care and support. The positive is that I know he can visit again and I can have a well earned rest without worrying.

I visited my friend for the first time and was so impressed with Foxhunters. It's like a 5-star hotel! The staff were all so friendly and the food was outstanding. There was also so much going on and I was even invited to join in an art class. I had the most wonderful lunch and offered a glass of wine. I would have no hesitation in moving in here at all.

Lovely place. Bright and modern with good communal areas. Welcoming to the family who visit and a real sense of care and community. Rooms and ensuite facilities are great. Would recommend clothes hanger rail to be lower for shorter residents to be able to use easily.

I am so impressed by the staff here at Foxhunters. They are professional, competent and so friendly. They never talk down to residents or show fatigue. This leads to a happy atmosphere and you feel you are part of a lovely family. The frustrations and challenges caring for elderly people are never evident. I want to thank every member of staff for doing an excellent job. The facilities are new and cosy and delightful. The food is superb.

Foxhunters could not do more to help with settling my mum into care.
Going from the semi-independence of living alone after her husband died suddenly, enduring loneliness and isolation at home, the changes since joining the Foxhunters community has been amazing. A new found pride in appearance, interests and activities, plus the independence of having the right facilities on hand to encourage it.
Just consider the simple things like having a warm, safe, ensuite, great chefs, nursing and carers as required. Brilliant, topped off with total peace of mind for the family.

Staff have been awesome. Keep up the good work.

My mum moved here in December after her previous home closed its nursing facility giving us very short notice to move. The management at Foxhunters could not have been more helpful with the move, putting themselves under pressure to organise their registration with the council so we could meet the deadline given.
The move was traumatic for mum as she had spent over 3 years at her previous care home. However, thanks to the excellent staff who treated her with respect, patience and dignity she soon felt at home and is now participating in the wide range of activities on offer.
The other residents also played a big part in my mum’s well being as they are always friendly and supportive. Foxhunters is quite unique with its beautiful location, great food and wonderful facilities. It has a friendly atmosphere and the staff take time and care with each individual like they are all family.

I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

The care and attention given to my mother, by all the team at Foxhunters, during her recent respite care stay was superb.
Whilst still dealing with the practicalities of opening a new care home, the personal attention we received from the point of initial contact with the care home cannot be faulted. The full team showed a drive to understand our specific needs and requirements to ensure that the care and support given was personal, and tailored to ensure Mum's comfort and wellbeing.

This beautifully presented care home was impressive from the first view, but it was the warmth, professionalism and caring dedication shown by the team at the home that ensured my mother's stay was so positive. I would have no hesitation in seeking to approach Foxhunters again for further respite care nor in recommending it to anyone else.

Foxhunters were extremely efficient and rescued us at a difficult time. The resident became unsafe to stay in her own home due to mobility issues (mainly). Foxhunters were able to take her in the same day of enquiring.
I was very relieved. The whole process was smooth, staff are excellent and not only care for the resident but me too. They are very friendly and make me feel welcome at any time.

My only negative comment is communication from staff to family - would like forwarding of appointments. I would like to be informed when the resident is going out so I don't visit when she is not there.
