Very comfortable and sociable. Care good and efficient. Food menu variable and reasonable. Warm enough.

I can only agree with the recent assessment from the CQC of “requires improvement".

“The total lack of communication with family members was deplorable". There was no phone contact, email or letters of concerns regarding my elderly father and an important letter was sent incorrectly to the wrong address. It purports to provide specialist dementia care, however, now my father is settled into another care home, and the considerable shortcomings of the care provided at The Chadwick are evident.

Poor communication and lack of care - Dad was there 7 days and had an aggressive behaviour and refused Insulin for 2 days. Sent to hospital only to be told they may not have him back for the safety of residents and staff. There was no contact to us, the family, for updates on Dad. We were told by the hospital that The Chadwick were not going to have him back but this was not mentioned to us by The Chadwick. He was kept on so to get a month of money off us and the council. I went and took his clothes out of the room which had not been cleaned or bed made, since he left for the hospital, after three weeks.

I love my room at The Chadwick. The staff are wonderful and I like how they always greet you with a happy smile on their face. The meals are always very good and everywhere is always spotlessly clean.

I always enjoy visiting. The staff are professional, patient and most importantly jolly. If they cheer me up I know that they must be a safe pair of hands for the residents.

The facilities are first class and the food looks very appetising.

My mother seems to have settled well at the Chadwick and although she does not class herself as "happy" she says she is "content" (which is great). I have not rated three areas i.e. Food and drink, activities as my visits very rarely coincide with those times; and I do not deal with my mother's finances, so cannot comment.

Lovely building, new facilities. Lovely to see a pet budgie for the residents. Good to see outside companies coming in and sharing experiences with everyone. Staff are always happy and polite. There has been food left on the floor from breakfast when it was late morning and not cleaned.

Used this home for a short respite break and was really impressed by the care and attention given to the residents. The facilities are the best that I have seen in the area and by comparison, good value for money too.
