From the minute you walk into the home you can feel the caring loving presence of the staff and service users within the home . I am always greeted by my first name and the staff will always spare the time to chat, even the lovely smiling manager of the home goes out of her way to say hi and ask if everything is ok.
The staff do so many lovely activities and it is lovely seeing photos of what they are doing when I'm not visiting.

The staff are all a credit to the home. Thank you to you all x

The service is of a very high standard , staff are excellent not only with residents but family and guests. Cleanliness is also of a high standard. This home goes about treating residents in a great manner, always have different things going on and special event regularly including residents families. I could not wish for a better home for my dad whilst dealing with dementia. The moment you walk in you are greeted and made to feel welcome by all staff . Would recommend for any loved ones , I can not thank all the staff enough great care they give daily .

Caring and getting better all the time using modern processes and tech but, most importantly, creating lovely moments for the residents and rooms that feel like a home, not a hospital.

Particularly impressed by the trips out including boat trips and theatre and the varied entertainment from guests. Still potential to do more but good work so far.

Review from Carole H (Sister of Resident) published on 29 January 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My sister has been at five rivers since March 2025. She was really poorly on admission, so poorly, that she was officially diagnosed end of life by the hospital. However, with care and patience from the staff at five rivers, she's back to her old self, with no signs of dying before she's 150. My sister has learning disabilities and mobile difficulties, and can be demanding. The staff are very accommodating, and my sister has settled in perfectly. She phones me regularly, and doesn't complain about anything. She seems very happy. They also take her out for school visits, she's been on a narrow boat trip, and they have cinema afternoons etc

Reply from Ricky Sood, Managers at Five Rivers Living

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this wonderful review. Your kind words about our staff, their care, and the activities we provide mean a great deal, and we're proud to support your sister to live such a full and enjoyable life.

My father spent 2+ years at Five Rivers, where I can say they went above and beyond and were like an extended family.
Whenever I visited they were so friendly and accommodating, and can safely say they treated my Dad really well.
The facilities were welcoming and clean, with a bright feel. The room was of a decent size but the biggest thing was the human touch. They went above and beyond in accommodating my dads emotional needs where he was able to maintain time with his favourite companion, his dog.

I will forever be grateful for the support they gave in my Dad's time.

Reply from Ricky Sood, Managers at Five Rivers Living

Thank you for your kind words. We were honoured to care for your father and truly appreciate your trust in us. His dog was very much part of our care home family and it was wonderful to care for them both. We wish you and your family all the very best.

Overall Experience
Mum was a resident in Five Rivers for 16 months where she was very happy and well cared for.
She became more acutely unwell at the end of June, was admitted to hospital and ultimately, put on end of life care. Mum was given the opportunity to be admitted to the local hospice, but preferred to go back to the care home knowing she would be loved and supported, with her own things around her.
We were lucky that we got another 3, mostly good, months with mum before she passed away and during that time we were very well supported, as was mum. Staff continued to treat her with love, care and respect and extended that to us.
We visited daily but were still contacted immediately mum's condition changed so we were able to be with her at the end. Again the kindness, emotional support and love shown to mum and the family was more than we could have imagined.

We feel very privileged that mum went to Five Rivers and ended her days there when we could no longer support her growing needs at home.

Reply from Ricky Sood, Managers at Five Rivers Living
Thank you for your beautiful words. Your mum truly was our queen at Five Rivers, and it was an honour to care for her. Supporting her to return home to us, surrounded by love, familiarity, and dignity, meant so much to the whole team.

We are deeply grateful that we could walk alongside your family...

Review from Paul C (Brother of Resident) published on 17 June 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My brother with dementia went into Five Rivers Living after being asked to leave his previous care home due to his behaviour, even though it was a highly rated dementia care home. After a few hiccups my brother settled in well, his behaviour became much better, and his general health improved, but most importantly, he was very happy there. This care home has a real family feel about it, the staff are brilliant and well led by management that are "hands on" and know the residents personally. I can't thank everyone enough for the memorable times I spent with my brother, and how happy he was.

Reply from Ricky Sood, Managers at Five Rivers Living

Thank you so much for your kind words. We're truly grateful you entrusted us with your brother's care. It's heartening to know he felt happy and settled here-he was very much a part of our Five Rivers family. Your appreciation means a great deal to our whole team.

Where do I even begin my nana became a resident at 5 rivers due to declining health dementia and skin cancer she was beyond challenging and I'm in no doubt that the care she was given was above and beyond the staff and management treated her with love and care and respect even though she was so nasty and even violent at times they treated my grandad like family when he would visit and always looked after him when he was there I honestly do not think I could have chosen a better care home it's light and airy and modern always clean and food always looked good my nana sadly passed away due to her skin cancer and till the very end we would not have wanted anyone else to care for her every single member of staff I met along this journey I cannot thank them enough and will be forever greatful to them all

Very happy with the care home. My uncle has very complex needs that take up a lot of time and understanding. The management keeps us updated and is open and honest with the needs required. They are supportive and try to implement different things to support his needs. They keep him safe at all times. The carers are kind and caring, and they are always interactive with the residents.
