I spent a fortnight at Eden Court, in Respite Care. I had a broken ankle - having fallen down the stairs at home. I had a 'standard room' for a few days and then upgraded to a 'suite - with a sitting room and kitchenette' thereafter (when the latter became available). I found Eden Court a very suitable
place for Respite Care - with helpful and empathetic staff. I have already recommended Eden Court to two friends - one of these has subsequently stayed there for Respite Care and was similarly impressed by the facilities. I would also mention that the food and ambience in the ground floor dining room are of 'restaurant standard'.

Congratulations on your excellent, caring service at Eden Court during my two weeks of respite care. The services of the care staff and managers were very much appreciated. I enjoyed the gourmet food and creative, varied menus. My visitors were also impressed. The care home has been very well-designed,
constructed, furnished and decorated to ensure a pleasurable environment. I have already accepted to return for respite care in May and am looking forward to the comforts provided.

Dad moved in for nursing care in August 2022, but it gradually became clear he was unlikely to go home. The staff have been amazing since day one - very friendly and caring. His face often lights up when he sees a particular favourite, but they are all so kind and caring to him. I have no qualms at
all about leaving him in their care. The home itself is luxurious and very well arranged and managed. Dad isn't well enough to go out on trips, but the concerts and visits to the home by singers and musicians have been very welcome and always take him out of himself. I've found all the staff to be very approachable and easy to talk to.

I can't speak highly enough of the staff at Eden Court. From the general manager, care services manager and the qualified nurses to the care assistants, they are all exceptional, kind, caring and cheerful. The place itself is lovely, with attractive communal lounges and a wonderful, peaceful courtyard
garden. But the thing that makes this place so very special is the staff... I can't thank them enough for looking after my mother with such kindness and care.

My mother-in-law moved in October 21 and was initially very distressed, finding it difficult to adjust to 'home' life. However, the staff did all they could to look after her and make her feel at home. Now one year on is settled and looking better than I can remember in a very long time. The care is
first class and the facilities superb. She couldn't be in a better place.

This is a truly amazing place. It exceeds my expectations of what an excellent care home should be. Most importantly the level of care is exemplary. The facilities and decor are 'five-star quality'. Residents have a wide range of activities both in-house and trips to parks, museums, the zoo etc. I couldn't
hope for better for my mum. Oh, and the food is lovely!

I have been really impressed by the high standard of care that Eden Court Care Home has given my mother. From the moment she arrived (one of the first residents) she has been shown a high level of personal care and real kindness. I have such respect and gratitude for the hard work of the wonderful care
team.
There have recently been a number of social events, including an Easter fete, which have been a great success.
I feel very grateful and relieved that my mother's care needs are being so well taken care of.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.962)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.962) out of 10 for Eden Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.962 for Eden Court is calculated as follows: ( (252 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 262 Ratings = 4.962
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Eden Court is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 79 registered maximum number of service users is 15.8, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
