I visited my friends mum and could not believe the friendliness off the staff/management it was so welcoming just walking through the front door of this beautiful home. My friends mum is soo happy and content and said she is loving life being in this home. I could see the difference in her from my last visit she is soo contented. It means the world to me knowing she is being cared for soo professionally and the friends she has made in this home are her 2nd family now. Keep up the great work.
We are delighted to hear that you felt so welcomed from the moment you arrived and that our team made such a positive impression. It means a great deal to us to know that your friend's mum is happy,...
The home was immaculately clean.
Activities were arranged appropriate to each resident's abilities.
A thoroughly positive experience and I would stay there again happily.
We are delighted to hear that you had such a positive respite stay following your operation and that you found the care and attention you received to be exceptional. Our team works hard to create a welcoming and supportive...
Over the last five months she was cared for and loved by the amazing management, nursing staff and carers. Nothing was too much trouble.
She praised the chef on a daily basis and enjoyed every meal.
There was always a warm welcome from management and staff when we visited and a comforting arm when we needed it.
We couldn't have asked for a better place.
We can't thank you enough for giving her some of the best months of her life, her words, not mine.
God Bless you all!
Thank you so much for your kind review. Your sister was a wonderful woman and it was a privilege to care for her.
Our friend, who was suffering from MND, was treated with dignity and respect. The staff were very caring and always went the extra mile to ensure she was as comfortable as possible. Management are visible, approachable and involved - very impressive. Overall excellent service
It was a honor to care for your beautiful friend and thank you for taking the time to leave us such a wonderful review. Myself and the whole team truly appreciate it.
Prior to this my mum lived at home with a social work care package.
Since moving into Bridge of weir,my mums care and wellbeing has significantly improved, whilst being treated as a valuable resident.
This is due to the dedication of all the staff whom I see almost in a daily basis.
From the very first day,,Claire,Joanne, all the nurses and every member of the team has treated my mum with the utmost respect and genuine care.
The team put the service users and families at the heart of everything they do.
I'm aware that the care home have recently been awarded wonderful ratings by the Care Inspectorate which I think is well earned and deserved.
I have complete confidence in my mums care by the team.
I also have had the opportunity to speak to some of the other service users families who all share my thoughts and experience.
I can't thank every member of the team enough.
Thank you for your kind words and support Stephen. Your review truly mean everything to the whole team.
Since moving to Morar care home she has improved physically and mentally. The staff have been brilliant in helping her settle in. The care home is clean, homely, bright and cheerful. Every day there are numerous activities. There really is something for everyone and we have been amazed at how much our ( mother) wants to participate. Our family member seems to be far more stimulated and gets more out of life. This is such a relief to us as a family knowing that she enjoys her surroundings and that she is being so well looked after.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It truly means the world to myself and the whole team. Your MIL is a delight and we love having her at BOW.
My father spent the last 6 weeks of his life at Morar. He received excellent care inspite of him being a danger to himself at times. The support for the family at this time was amazing. We knew that his stay would only have a short duration but everything possible was done to maintain a normal routine and keep him entertained and comfortable. Access to his care notes from a phone or tablet helped my brothers see what was going on from the south of England, a great resource. Genuinely caring staff.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It means the world to the whole team.
It's a great environment and as we have got to know the staff, they have been brilliant. They genuinely care for the people they are looking after.
Christmas was amazing. The activities were phenomanal. The staff and management put in so much effort and when I got emotional as this was my first year being on my own, they were there to give me a hug too.
I would have given 5 stars but like everything, you cant please all of the people all of the time.
Communication could be better. Maybe promote the family chat to the families of new residents. I have found that so useful.
A couple of very minor issues raised e.g. fingernails being.cut and cleaned but were all resolved straight away.
Didn't want my husband in a care home but hes safe and cared for. Cant ask for more.
Thank you for your review. Your husband is a wonderful man and is a pleasure to have as part of our Bow Family.
I have been meaning to write this review for a while as my sister and I want to thank everyone at Morar Bridge of Weir for the friendship, care and compassion shown to our very special Uncle Joe. He came to live at Morar at a very traumatic time in his life and the whole staff team were wonderful in how well they supported him. He loved you all but was especially fond of Claire and Joann! Joe was happy at Morar and made many friends. He was always treated with respect and dignity and , as a family, we felt welcome and were kept informed about his welfare. Thank you so much Claire and team for everything you did for Joe. I know you miss him as much as we do!
It was an absolute privilege to have known and cared for Joe. He was a very special man, who none of us will forget.
My experience of Bridge of Weir has been nothing but good in every respect. The staff can't do enough for me. I feel safe and well cared for in the home. They have a very full activities programme which I am very involved in. My room is lovely and looks out onto a patio.
It is an absolute privilege to know you. Thank you for your wonderful review, I know it means the world to the whole team.
However I need to warn others that serious issues have arisen & to be vigilant about these aspects of care of your loved one.
We had issues with staff unable to attend to dad when he was crying out in pain. On that occasion staff had their young children at work with them so couldn't meet dad's needs.
(I agreed not to make a formal complaint at that time)
Now, three new complaints have been upheld by the Care Inspectorate regarding issues with unexplained bruising & administration of medication.
After several requests for a written response to the upholding of these complaints, Morar have now dismissed them as "minor".
No apology and no explanation provided.
I'd expected Morar to take the issues seriously, as previous complaints about the same issues have also been upheld.
Just be aware. CI website shows details of all complaints.
Thank you for your most recent feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and are glad to hear you have previously had positive experiences with our service. The wellbeing of our residents is, and always has been, our highest priority, and all concerns are addressed...
So disappointied. Had such high hopes.
Im disappointed to receive a second review from this family, especially so long after their loved one sadly passed away. While I fully acknowledge that BOW Care Home had issues in the past, this account does not reflect the care we delivered during her time with us or the improvements made over the...
Care homes have a difficult job to do but this one should and could have done much better. Once the initial decision on provider is made it is unfair to relocate. I wish i had looked under the covers and further afield
Thank you for your feedback following the passing of your relative - a truly lovely lady who sadly died in January. We extend our condolences. During her time with us the team worked hard to provide consistent and compassionate care and remained responsive to your families frequent detailed input....
My mum joined Morar living at bridge of weir in February and I can't believe the change in our mum. The team have made us all feel so welcome and show so much care and respect for our mum. They really know how to bring the best out in our elderly parents and I am so impressed by the level of care and attention they give to mum. I didn't want my mum in a home however the Morar team have put my mind at rest and gave me a chance to be a daughter again and not my mums carer. The pink ladies are amazing and the home manager and her team should be proud of what they do. Love to all
Thank you so much for your amazing review. Its great to hear that we are getting it right for your lovely mum, and you all.
The cleanliness of the facilities is impeccable, and the entire environment is warm and inviting. The staff, from managers to domestic workers, have gone above and beyond to make mum feel comfortable and cared for. They've really taken the time to understand her needs and ensure she feels at home.
The activities they offer have been fantastic, giving mum the chance to socialize and stay engaged in a way that has made her feel more settled. It's such a relief knowing she's in a place where she feels at home. We are all so reassured by the excellent care, and I can't recommend this care home enough. Thank you all for your dedication and compassion
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I have read it to the team and they are delighted. Especially our Head House Keeper.
visits and this year was welcomed back by staff who remembered him from last year. I found this so encouraging and reassuring as the staff are happy to be working for the company so avoiding constant turnover. He was visited by his sister in law regularly who was amazed at the constant activities which always involved him and which he was happy to be part of. To know that your husband is safe and in a very happy environment makes your time away such a precious space and time to recharge the batteries! I can't thank the staff enough and obviously am eternally grateful for the respite care which is now like gold dust.
(A very happy wife)
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. Your husband is an absolute pleasure and we look forward to him returning for some 'RnR' next year.
Bridge of weir care home staff exceptionally helpful, friendly and supportive. Our Dad is well looked after and knowing this and feeling that he is safe at all times is of great comfort to the family.
Your father is a wonderful man and it is a privilege to care for him.Thank you for your positive review, My team and I are delighted.
The management and staff at Morar Living, Bridge of Weir are kind, professional, caring and treat residents and families like their own family. The team ensure residents are treated with respect at all times and that makes my journey less traumatic, seeing my husband cope with dementia. I have the utmost respect for all the caring staff who have a very challenging job. The manager has an open-door policy for families which is unheard of in these times.
Thank you for your wonderful review. It is a privilege to support both your lovely husband and you.
The management team are fantastic and very approachable, the member of staff on front of house always has a smile and a coffee (the real stuff) for everyone coming in to visit. The activity team make activities that spark my auntie's interests, which was a challenge but they listened to her life and used her experiences so she enjoys life again.
The nurses and care staff are brilliant, they spend time with my aunt, encourage her to remain independent but support her when she struggles. Domestic staff keep her room clean and tidy, kitchen staff give her meals she actually likes with lots of snacks and treats. I can not sing their praises enough. Thank you to all the staff, from myself and all of our family.
Thank you for your wonderful review, you have made our week! The whole team are working hard to ensure that all our residents and their families are cared for and supported to the highest standards. We are delighted to know that we are achieving that for your aunt and you all.
Mum is always treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. All staff go above and beyond to ensure Mum's every comfort and needs are met.
They have taken the time to get to know Mum as an individual and cater to her preferences. This personalised approach has made a world of difference in Mum's adjustment.
B.O.W offers a wonderful environment. We as a family especially enjoy the beautiful quiet lounge areas where we can reminisce with Mum over a coffee and a piece of cake. I am particularly impressed with the focus on resident independence. The staff encourages Mum to maintain her own routines as much as possible, which is so important for her well-being.
Thanks to Bridge of Weir Care Home, Mum is happy, looked after, and thriving. I have great peace of mind knowing Mum is in such capable and caring hands. This is an exceptional care home.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. Caring for your mum is an absolute pleasure. Getting such positive feedback means the world to the whole team. Thank you.

Meet the Team (3)

I qualified as a Staff Nurse in 1991. I knew from very early on in my nurse training that my passion and future were in caring for the older person. I was promoted very early in my career to a Charge Nurse, then to Deputy Manager and spent 25 years in management.
I started working in BOW in May 2026 as Home Manager and endeavour to continue in the role to provide a warm, welcoming, friendly environment for residents, staff and visitors.
I’ve been passionate about providing excellent care throughout my career, with years of experience in managing care homes and ensuring the well-being of residents. My goal is to continuously support the excellent quality of care by adopting supportive environments for both residents and staff.
I have been married for over 25 years to David and have a beautiful Border Terrier called Poppy, who has been coming to work with me since she was a puppy. She too loves being part of the care home environment; she is extremely gentle, and residents love her.

I have a BSC in adult nursing, qualifying from Paisley University in early 2010.
I have worked in many roles throughout my career, ranging from care assistant to home manager for many providers, and I have dedicated nearly 29 years to supporting older adults within the care home settings.
I started working in BOW in November 2025 as clinical lead and then, in April 2026, went on to the role of deputy manager.
I’ve been passionate about providing high-quality care throughout my career, with years of experience in managing care homes and ensuring the well-being of residents. My goal is to continuously enhance the quality of care by fostering supportive environments for both residents and staff.
Outside of work, I enjoy keeping fit, going for walks with my 2 dogs and spending quality time with my family. I am committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those in my care and their loved ones.

Joann has been at Bridge of Weir Care Home for nearly three years after spending two years in Kenya.
Born in Ireland, Joann met her husband, and together they travelled across the four corners of the UK and lived in Germany for almost five years.
Throughout her career, she has held various roles, from being a dental nurse to management in retail. Joann has now settled in sunny Scotland, which she says truly feels like home.
