I have been living here for six months. I have Parkinsons disease - hence the very shakiy writing. But my mental functioning is fine so I can do my own forms.
The staff are kind and helpful. The rooms quite spacious and the whole complex well maintained.

As I realise I need a lot of help, I'm lucky to be here.

Hammerson House Wohl Campus is a fine building well suited for a care home. However, to my mind, its outstanding feature is the Sue Hammerson Woodland Walk. Access is easy. From the outdoor terrace in the back of the building, the Walk starts with a garden beautifully manicured and tended. From there take a slight downwards incline and head into the main forested portion of the walk. You will find on both sides of the path stately oak, maple, and beech trees and myriad other varieties. Flowering plants and shrubs line the well kept path. Many species of birds flourish. There are squirrels and even the occasional fox to be seen. The walk is adapted for both walkers and wheelchair users. Seats have been placed in key spots. I love strolling along the walk at any time of the day, month or year, even when there is snow on the ground. There is always something to delight the senses including bird sounds, and in season, the delicious sights and scents of plants, shrubs and greenery. There are open spaces where the visitor can observe the London sky (when it isn't raining). I am a keen observer of cloud formations. The woodland walk offers residents, visitors and staff a calming respite from the cares of the day in a beautiful nature setting.

My father has been at this care home almost 5 years and I think it is probably one of the best in the UK. They are under the same - enormous - financial and staffing pressures as all care homes but continue to provide outstanding, person-centred care. It is well-run at every level, clean and modern, fantastic facilities and great GP access. Even when there are staffing changes the front line care never suffers - my father is always treated with dignity and kindness. Every single staff member we encounter from the wonderful carers to the cafe and front desk teams shows friendliness, care and compassion and goes above and beyond to help. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hammerson House to anyone.

My mother who is 95 has been a resident of Hammerson House for a year. It has been a very positive experience. She, quite reasonably, had wanted to stay in her own home for as long as she could. However there comes a time when that is no longer possible. The care team at Hammerson worked hard to make the transition as smooth as possible and completed succeeded. My mum is an artist and in her last year at home she had stopped painting. I'm delighted to share that she is painting again and very engaged in lots of arts based activities. Hammerson has made that possible. In terms of the spaces it has a lovely garden, conservatory and cafe as well as lots of communal spaces.

I love living here. I have made my room very homely and I am very lucky to have a beautiful view of the patio and part of the garden and greenhouse. The house manager and team leader are both excellent, warm, caring and supportive. Our care team are usually kind and caring, but I recenty had trouble with one of them. Worryingly, I recently I think I had a watch and a neckless which is precious to me stolen. We have lots of activities to keep oir minds and bodies active. We have interesting outings and culture on the big screen.

From the moment I entered this care home, the members of staff have had my care and welfare at heart, and as a wheelchair user, they take the very best care of me day and night, ensuring my every need is treated with dignity and a smile. Following the example of the team leader on my floor. Health issues are immediately treated, as are medications and treatments.

In addition to the first class carers, there are a wide variety of activities to keep us occupied, and an excellent team of volunteers adds to our pleasure. I feel secure and cared for.

My father stayed at Hammerson House, Wohl Campus, from May till mid June this year. He was gravely ill and taken into the palliative care unit for end-of-life care.
The team were incredible, we couldn't have asked for more. The Nurses and care staff went above and beyond in their care for him. They ensured that he experienced as little pain as possible; all his needs were met. We were truly grateful that he spent his last days being so well looked after.

The staff were all very supportive towards my family, especially the nurses who gave us clarity and support through his stay at the home. All the staff at Hammerson were welcoming, friendly and made us all feel at home throughout the building. I would highly recommend them for your care home needs.

On August 12th 2025, my sister Susan came to Hammerson from the hospital. Since her arrival, they have been wonderful to her. The care and love shown to her has been lovely; it feels as though she has been here for months, that's how welcoming they have been. The medical team, right through to the nurses and carers, have been compassionate and understanding. I would like to thank the team for taking Susan under their wing and taking care of her.

This is a magnificent building. My only criticism as a very experienced horticulturist with 50 years of experience, there is not enough gardening assistance employed. Vast areas of the grounds are neglected. There seems no one to who I can address my professional comments. I am 93 years old, I take care of planting and maintaining the balcony and daily water the greenhouse.

The care is very good, the setting is lovely but most of all, the staff are very well trained to see the best in residents and to understand their point of view. From the receptionist and all the care and nursing staff, they are all friendly and welcoming. It really makes a difference as I sometimes feel quite nervous about visiting.
My mother chooses to have her breakfast brought to her in her room The staff have tried very hard to engage my mother in activities but they respect her choices.
I find the transport to the tube station very helpful. It is excellent that there is a team of physios on site and a good GP service.

My mother enjoys the garden which has very good non-slip paths enabling her to walk safely with her stroller. I like taking my mother to the cafe, it is a change of routine for her and the food is nice.

This is an amazing home that looks and feels more like a hotel than a care home. The staff are very kind, efficient and professional. There is a good amount of space for the residents to move around within their household, as well as downstairs in the Garden and the Cafe, and there are lots of activities to keep everyone busy. There always seems to be something happening, which is wonderful. Communication and patience are very good between the house and families, and also within the household. The Carers are very busy, but are kind, thoughtful, and patient with each resident.
Downstairs where residents mingle with other households there are also lounges, an entertainment room, and a patio and gardens to share. A hairdresser/beautician comes twice a week and an activity programme which is stimulating and community-building completes the package.

It is a privilege to be a volunteer here, and I look forward to coming to help, I feel I can make a difference.

"I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2013 and began my career in acute nursing. After gaining extensive experience in the NHS across various specialities, I initially joined Nightingale House in 2018 as a Registered Nurse, where I worked for nearly two years before relocating outside of London.

My passion for elderly care has only strengthened over the years, and I’m delighted to be part of this sector. I returned to Nightingale Hammerson in August 2023, joining the quality team and subsequently becoming the Registered Manager of Hammerson House, Wohl Campus, a year later.

As Manager, my greatest satisfaction comes from working alongside dedicated colleagues, all of us united by a shared purpose: to make a positive impact in the lives of our Residents every day".

Chipema ChitambalaJob Title:Director of Care ServicesJoined: 2023

My career began when I qualified as a General Registered Nurse. After a short period in the acute sector, I specialised in the care of older people and, since then, have never looked back. I went on to specialise in Health Services Management with the Royal College of Nursing and completed a Master’s degree in Public Health.

I have worked across Health and Social Care with some great corporate brands, cementing my leadership skills. I have also won several awards; perhaps the two that I’m most proud of are the Wise Woman in Leadership Award by Faith Magazine in 2015 and, most recently, the Health & Social Care Leader of the Year 2021 by Black Women in Care.

As a leader, I enjoy influencing others positively, connecting with people, problem-solving, motivating colleagues and empowering teams to deliver great results. Most of all, I enjoy mentoring and coaching.

Jenny PattinsonJob Title:Chief ExecutiveJoined: 2022

When I joined Nightingale Hammerson as CEO in July 2022, I knew I was joining an organisation that had an incredible reputation for providing exceptional care. Seeing this in practice is a great privilege.

The Care sector remains a challenging environment to operate in. However, we remain fully committed to providing the best care to the most vulnerable in our community and in spite of the financial pressure, find innovative and effective ways to ensure our Residents lead fulfilling lives, have a sense of purpose and feel loved and cared for in our Homes.

It is important that our Teams recognise that every role is hugely valued in Nightingale Hammerson. I am determined to remain hands-on and support the team to deliver care to the best of our ability. I know that I could not do my role without the incredible Care and Support Teams so I prioritise ensuring they are well cared for so they can provide exceptional care to our Residents.
