From the time my in-laws came to live at the home together in June 2023 I have found the care and support of staff to be of a good standard.
In march 2025 my mother in law passed away suddenly at the home. The comfort and compassion for us as a family and in particularly my father in law was so kind
and thoughtful and continues to be so now.

My husband has been a resident of Montague House since October 2023 . He has good care throughout this time. The carers and nurses don't change a lot and know him and his needs very well, helping him to be calm and accept necessary care.
When there are events on in the home like the Christmas party
and craft fair couple of Saturdays back there was so many residents and relatives there ..all enjoying ourselves and the staff who were working on the areas where people were not able to join the party they worked well together and ensured at the right time residents like my husband were taken back upstairs for necessary care.

Today my husband and another resident were taken to the dementia choir which they used to belong to for the rehearsal of tomorrow s concert, this was a special occasion so thanks again to all of you that made this possible, especially the well-being lead and staff working today.so thank you all x

Reply from Paula Yorkston-Toy, Home Manager at Montague House Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your lovely feedback, it means a great deal to our carers and nurses to know that their consistency and understanding has helped him feel well cared for and comfortable.
The dementia choir outing was a very special moment for everyone involved, and we're so glad your husband was able to reconnect with something meaningful to him. We will make sure your thanks are passed on to the well-being lead and the staff who supported the visit.

My daughter's mother in law, who is also my very good friend, has recently needed to become a resident, due to health deterioration. We have all been made so very welcome. The home is bright and cheerful and the staff smiley and happy. A lovely environment that is a pleasure to visit. The staff go the
extra mile and nothing is too much trouble. They even allowed us to host our grandsons 4th birthday party in the family room so that my friend could be there. We have also had a birthday meal in the private dining room. Thanks to the team.

My Dad became a resident of Montague nursing home in June 2025, and sadly died there in October 2025. However, during his time there - he had the very best of genuine care from all the staff, who seemed to go above and beyond. Within 6 weeks he had put on nearly 7 kg (having lost a lot of weight whilst
in hospital), with their delicious food. One lunchtime I paid him a visit, to see him sitting amongst some farm animals when they visited Montague - and what a giggle we had!!! He became known for trying to pinch contraban (cakes and biscuits), when in the communal area, but was thwarted by the staff who quickly got to know his tricks. When he became ill at the beginning of September, I was made as welcome as my Dad, and was able to carry out my full-time job, whilst being by his side. Although the end was sad, the care was genuine from the manager through to the daily staff. If I could give Montague 15/10 and 10 stars out of 5, I would!
Reply from Steven Ward, Regional Sales Manager at Montague House Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We are truly grateful that you took the time to share your kind words. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the team at Montague House, Brampton for the amazing care and love my mum received during her time there. My mum sadly passed away recently after nearly 3 years of her staying at Montague House on the dementia floor, all I can say is that the staff were
amazing and so caring. The nurses on the ward were all a great support to me during the last very difficult 10 days of mum's life, they made sure that I understood what was happening and offered me their time and comfort when I really needed it. Paula the manager was so kind and understanding and I cannot speak highly enough of the way the care home is run.
Reply from Paula Yorkston-Toy, Home Manager at Montague House Care HomeThank you so much for your heartfelt words. It means a great deal to our whole team to know that we were able to bring comfort, care, and support to your mum and to you during such a difficult time. We are truly grateful for the trust you placed in us over the past three years and will share your kind words with the team, who will be deeply touched. Please accept our sincere condolences, and know that we are thinking of you.

Montague House is outstanding. My father went in for 4 weeks respite and enjoyed every minute of his stay. The staff are dedicated and supportive and the home its self is clean and homely. Furnishings and facilitates are of a high standard. At the end of the day its the people working there who really
count and they were all exceptional. I can't praise them enough. Dad will be back.

My mother in law stayed at Montague House for 3 weeks in June whilst my husband and I had a much needed break. We had previously visited for coffee and to familiarise ourselves with the home.
Staff were welcoming and friendly on arrival and the room was bright and clean.
We were able to keep in
touch whilst we were away which was reassuring and meant that we could share some photos as well.
Mum in law was very happy with her stay, she made some friends, went out for coffee and joined in some of the activities. Apparently the food was excellent and she is looking forward to a return stay in September

I was made to feel very welcome when I arrived. I was shown my room and given help to settle in. I had already had a tour of the facilities on previous visits, so I knew what to expect. The food and services throughout were excellent, and I have no complaints at all about anything. Some friends came
to visit during my stay, and we had coffee in the lounge. I attended some of the activities, which were well organised and attended.
I really enjoyed my stay and will be more than happy to stay again later in the year.

I cannot praise the carers enough, they all do an amazing job, it gives me peace of mind that when i'm not with my mum- she's safe + very well cared for, the manager 'always' makes herself available if you wish to talk to her. the entertaiment + activities at montague house are superb ! – food - good
points are theres always a varity of juice + fresh fruit available. -main meals - meat seems of very poor quality, mainly frozen veg-occassionaly fresh & puddings always 'stodgy + full of sugar.

Having had experience of several care homes in the area. There is no doubt that Montague House is by far the best in that I was not only well looked after but every day I was very happy to be one of the residents. I was encouraged to join in some of many groups and my health has benefitted from the
physio, yoga in particular. The staff were always friendly + willing to help. I enjoyed my stay enormously.

My husband needs care for all his personal needs - so when I have a break he needs to come into care. This March he has stayed at Montague House for 4 weeks. He has experience pf other care houses in the district and Montague House has been a completely different experience. It has been amazing. He
has been very happy becoming more like his 'old self', sociable and eager to join in activities. He has been treated with respect and interest. I can only say it has been a wonderful experience for both of us. We shall certainly let others know what a happy, professional and caring home Montague Home is.

Needed care after operation - live alone in area so convenient. All very pleasant and friendly staff and management. Only saw ground floor rooms and facilities; ate my meals in my room by choice. Food good and varied - but with the huge charge per week felt could have fresh fruit rather than tinned!
All staff lovely and helpful; washing (clothes) facility very useful. Perhaps not the best toilet/washing facility for someone with a serious leg operation on two crutches, felt insecure in shower facility and bed uncomfortable. Lovely care home, not perhaps right choice for my aftercare but convenient.

We're really pleased to hear that you found our team friendly and helpful. We're sorry to hear that certain aspects of the room and bathroom facilities didn't fully meet your needs following your operation. We strive to make every resident feel safe and comfortable, especially after surgery, so your comments will help us reflect on how we can better tailor support and accessibility in these situations.Your point about fresh fruit is noted and is always available in the home. As we're always looking at how we can improve our dining offer we will certainly take this on board to ensure everyone is aware of the options. We wish you all the best with your continued recovery.

Can't praise this home enough.
My daughter has had visits to many care homes in recent months and all have failed on multiple issues.
This home was able to provide a first class service to my daughter.
She got her meds on time,
She got great care from both the carers and homemakers.
She was very
well supported by the Nursing Team and the Management Team
Her Diatary needs were met.
And most important to us they put my daughter's needs first, as an example the chef noticed she had not been eating an evening meal and came to see her to make sure if was a problem with the food or something else. This is a first for us and one of the many many small things that made the stay for my daugter best in class.

My sister has just entered Montague House, she has special support needs due to disabilities. Everyone in the home has shown great professionalism and care in meeting her requirements. She has not yet taken part in the activities but the program looks interesting and varied although she may not be able
to take part in all of them due to her disabilities. I feel it difficult to judge the value of money because my other sister deals with financial dealings and she has spent a few days there. Other residents also seem friendly and happy. Thank you!

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
