We couldn't be happier with the level of care my mother-in-law is currently receiving at Haywood Lodge. The staff are so attentive to her needs. She doesn't want for anything, in her words "they're all lovely, every one of them, they can't do enough for you". The facilities are excellent and there's
always something going on to keep them entertained, whether it be a film on in the cinema or a game of Jenga in the lounge.
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at Haywood LodgeThank you for your lovely words, we strive to make every resident feel like a VIP and it’s lovely to hear that your mother in Law is feeling the benefits of that. Our brilliant activities coordinators work hard to keep everyone busy, but if you have any suggestions just let us know!

I have enjoyed my time here and made new friends. The staff were all very caring, in fact, wonderful. Some things need improving, such as activities, but we did have a bout of Covid which we had to be in isolation, therefore, activities had to be cancelled so near Christmas. If need be, I would come
back and am seriously considering coming back for respite.

We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay at Haywood Lodge and made some new friends. While our teams love to organise fun activities for our residents, it’s our priority to keep everyone in the home protected. Please don’t hesitate to get back in touch, or even pop by for a cuppa should you need any further support.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars then I would.
My mum was the second resident to join Haywood Lodge back in May 2022. From the moment she went to live there the place felt like a true home from home - both for mum and for me. Each and every one of the staff were welcoming and caring and
treated mum with the dignity, compassion and respect that we'd all want for our loved ones. I was kept informed of everything that went on with regard to the care of my mum, which was very important to me, as I knew that I could relax knowing she was being looked after to the same standards as I had cared for her. Mum, unfortunately, passed away very recently, but she was surrounded every day by all the familiar faces from Haywood Lodge that she had come to love during the last 6 months of her life. I will be forever grateful to team Haywood for everything they have done to help make my mum's quality of life the best it could be whilst she was with them.
Reply from Charlotte Jackson, Customer Care Administrator at Haywood LodgeThis is such a heart-warming review, thank you so much. We are so sorry for your loss, your mum was a very big part of the Haywood Lodge family and is very much missed by staff and residents alike. She will be remembered as a loving, friendly lady with a cheeky sense of humour and although her loss is felt greatly we are pleased that she felt so loved and cared for. We also want you to know that you are part of the Haywood family and you are always welcome to pop in for a cuppa and a chat. Thank you again for your kind words, they have been passed on to the staff at Haywood Lodge and very gratefully received.

Very smooth transition on the first day we placed our father at Haywood Lodge Care Home, Redditch. His clothes were tagged straight away and returned to his room swiftly. Staff were very good, introducing themselves and soon made my father feel at home. Even though he is initially in for respite it
was as if he was there permanently in that he felt at home straight away. Also, he has 'dairy-free' requirements which the chef was on point with immediately.
Reply from Charlotte Jackson, Customer Care Administrator at Haywood LodgeThank you for taking the time to leave feedback, it's great to hear that your father settled in quickly and feels at home at Haywood Lodge. We are very proud of our team and their ability to make residents feel welcome from the get go, and we will pass on your lovely words. Thank you again.

One word to describe Haywood Lodge - perfect! Nice calm atmosphere, very clean. All of the staff, without exception, are always happy, friendly and willing to help. Lovely food and as much as the residents want.
Rooms are a reasonable size, more than enough for a resident and lovely gardens.
I could
go on, but the proof is in the pudding, try it!!

Having to go into hospital for major surgery choosing respite care for my husband was a big worry. After having viewed Haywood Lodge seeing all it had to offer and meeting all the lovely staff I had no hesitation at all in leaving him in their care. He was so happy there loved his short stay and will
be happy and relaxed there shortly when I need a break. I would gladly recommend Haywood Lodge, it's home from home and it's in a beautiful setting.

My father came to Haywood Lodge on respite, while my mother went into hospital for an operation. Our experience of Haywards Lodhe was extremely positive from start to finish. Our initial visit was so welcoming and friendly. We were super impressed by the layout, decor and facilities available to residents.
It felt more like a hotel than a care home. Dad's visit was only short, but he loved every minute and even said he "didn't want to go home". We will definitely use Haywards Lodge again and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at Haywood LodgeThank you so much for your lovely comments for our team at Haywood Lodge, at our excellent facilities. Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.688)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.688) out of 10 for Haywood Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.688 for Haywood Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (223 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 272 Ratings = 4.688
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Haywood Lodge is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
