Heathland House is a brand-new luxury care home located in Ferndown, Dorset that is now open and welcoming residents. It is part of the Cinnamon Luxury Care group, a trusted and award-winning provider that is dedicated to great design and outstanding care..

The home will offer first-class residential care in luxury surroundings. There are 59 large en-suite bedrooms and 7 luxury one-bedroom care suites which include an en-suite bedroom, lounge and kitchenette. The care suites are ideal for couples or those who prefer additional space and greater independence. The ground floor rooms have access to their own patio areas whilst on the first and second floors there are large balconies off the communal areas. The home will provide residential and respite care along with a dedicated community for those living with dementia.

Residents will be empowered to live independently, with a social and active lifestyle as they choose. As well as joining in with a busy activities programme, residents can relax in one of the luxury lounges, host family and friends in a private dining room, perfect for those special celebrations, be pampered in the on-site salon, or socialise in the café bar or cinema. A sumptuous and varied menu is prepared by the Heathland House chefs daily with special dietary requirements easily accommodated.   

Stays can range from short-term respite or convalescence care to long-term residence.

Cinnamon Luxury Care group has been awarded one of the Top 20 Mid-Size Care Home Groups by carehome.co.uk for four years in a row; 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

Heathland House have an experienced management team who are supported by the central Cinnamon support team, providing regular training and ongoing personal development to all team members. My mother has been at Heathland House since April 2025. I have been impressed with all aspects of the home, the atmosphere, the activities, the decor, but mostly the staff. All staff are welcoming and supportive of visitors. The staff who care for my mum are attentive, professional and thoughtful, and
I feel happy when I leave, knowing my mum is in safe hands. My mum's circumstances have changed markedly since April; at each stage of deterioration, the care plan has been adapted, and I am confident that Mum receives the best care.

My mum has just passed away peacefully after spending almost a year at Heathland House. She was not keen to move into residential care but the whole team worked hard to ensure they knew her habits and preferences and made her feel settled, valued and cared for.
She subsequently had a very contented
few months. The home is beautifully clean and well maintained with good food, a sociable cafe and a lovely sunny garden. The staff very kindly but tenaciously encouraged her to be as independent as possible.
As a family we were always welcomed and felt listened to when necessary.
Very sadly my mum's health deteriorated acutely, Heathland House were fantastic in supporting dignified end of life care, all her family were able to visit.
We would like to specifically mention two staff members whose kindness and care was exceptional.

A warm welcoming home offering residents and their families a friendly community. Excellent well equipped rooms, spacious and inviting lounges and fabulous cafe area that are well used so no-one needs to feel alone or lonely.
Great activities, we are obviously very lucky in Dorset with visiting entertainers!
Residents are encouraged to join in or start up activities in areas they enjoy.
Everywhere is easily accessible, including lift access.
Nice sunny garden for relaxation or your daily walks.
The staff are excellent and are responsible for making the home such a lovely place to be.

My friend of 71 years is not the easier of people to manage, and yet the staff at Heathland House find ways to encourage her to eat and dress and even be quite sociable at times! I am extremely impressed.


Further it was her birthday, and I requested a chocolate cake, with chocolate icing and more

chocolate on top, (chocolate is one of the few things she will eat!) and they excelled themselves with a beautiful looking and tasting cake, some prosecco and even a gift (chocolates!!) and came in and sang happy birthday to her. It was above wonderful!


The wisdom, patience, gentleness and even tough love, when necessary, are generously dished out!


There are many choices for care homes in this area, and I visited most before choosing Heathland - what a great decision that was! A BIG thank you to all the staff who care for my friend so beautifully!

I am incredibly grateful for the outstanding care my dad receives at Heathland House. Living with dementia can be challenging, but the staff here are patient, understanding, and truly dedicated to providing the best possible support. They treat my dad with kindness, dignity, and respect, ensuring he
feels safe and comfortable every day.


The environment is warm and welcoming, and the staff go above and beyond to engage residents in meaningful activities that stimulate their minds and bring joy. This is my fifth month of living in Heathland House. Being in this care home over Christmas couldn't have gone better. The entertainment each week with singers, musicians, and a lovely school choir. Even Father Christmas came around with presents for everyone. I particularly enjoy the 'use it or lose'
exercise class, and I am also learning tai chi. As I suffer from macular degeneration the management has found a blind class for me to attend every two weeks and they provide transport to and from the group. The staff are so helpful with all my needs. Cups of tea with biscuits and cake are always available. I have settled in now and it is truly my home.

Heathland House is a lovely care home, not like any other I have seen. All the staff are amazing and so caring. My dad moved to Heathland House following a 4th stroke and the death of his wife, everyone in the home could not have been nicer. He has settled in well and I can relax knowing that he is

The preadmission and welcome on arrival were outstanding. The ambience of the whole place was warm, friendly and caring. From top to bottom, the staff are excellent.

From contacting this home to enquire about a respite stay to leaving the home after a two-week stay, the management and the whole team there have been wonderful, and very helpful.
Every care was listened to and acted upon and they knew everyone by their Christian names and ensured we were happy.
The
catering was very good, and the rooms were spacious and clean.
Wonderful entertainment was provided in lovely settings.

An outstanding care facility. Not only does it have a very welcoming environment, it treats residents like the very valued parts of the community they are.
The staff are incredibly attentive without encroaching on the resident's independence.

My aunt has been a resident Heathland House Care Home for over a year now and she has blossomed since being there and is thoroughly enjoying life again. The staff are all very kind, understanding and knowledgeable and look after my aunt with so much love. It was a hard decision to move her into care
but we couldn't be happier. She now has a quality of life again, is safe, well looked after, company and fun with all the activities.

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2023

What I Do
It is my role to ensure that Heathland House is a place where both residents and staff can thrive and feel happy. I oversee the day-to-day running of the home while equipping our heads of departments with the tools and support they need to excel in their roles. I enjoy collaborating with others and fostering positive connections across the home, creating an environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and motivated.


My Experience
I hold a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care, a BSc in Psychology, and an MSc in Conservation and Biology. I have over 10 years of experience as a Care Home Manager in the Dorset area, during which I successfully developed two services from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’ CQC-rated homes. I have extensive experience in using positive behaviour support to help individuals flourish in residential care. My previous role was as Registered Manager of the largest elderly care home in Dorset. At Heathland House, I am now combining my expertise in quality care with the luxury and comfort our home provides, creating an environment that exceeds expectations.

What I Do
My name is Mary Stepin, and I am the Deputy Manager at Heathland House, having joined the team in December 2022. I work closely with the General Manager to ensure that residents, their families, and our staff team are fully supported. My role is focused on delivering a service that is personalised to the needs and wishes of each resident, fostering a caring and compassionate environment where everyone feels valued and respected.


My Experience
I began my career in Social Care in 1984 as a Care Assistant in a residential home run by Dorset Council, later transferring to the Borough of Poole following the reorganisation of local authorities. In 1996, I moved to Germany and worked at the Army Medical Centre, gaining valuable international experience. Upon returning to the UK, I joined a local Housing Association as a Registered Manager, where I developed Supported Living, Domiciliary Care, and Extra Care services for the community. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in managing care services and supporting both residents and staff to achieve the highest standards of care.


About Me
I am married with five children and four grandchildren. Football has always been a passion of mine—growing up, I played informally with friends and at school when girls weren’t officially allowed to play. While living in Germany, I managed several children’s teams, and now I enjoy watching the game from the terraces as a season ticket holder with AFC Bournemouth. Outside of football, I love spending quality time with my family and attending music concerts.

What I Do
I am the Deputy Manager at Heathland House, overseeing the care floors to ensure residents receive the highest standards of support. My responsibilities include managing admissions and discharges, monitoring care plans, overseeing medication administration, and completing audits for the care elements of the service. I also supervise and support our dedicated care team, fostering a positive, professional environment where residents’ wellbeing is always the top priority.


My Experience
I have 18 years of experience in the care sector, beginning with supporting children with autism in schools and later assisting adults with disabilities living in the community. I then transitioned into residential care, gaining experience in both a nursing home and a dementia care home. Prior to joining Heathland House, I served as Deputy Manager in a large mixed dementia and residential home for another provider for two years, further developing my leadership and care management skills.


About Me
I am an animal lover with a large herd of guinea pigs, a small group of chickens, and two family dogs. I enjoy a range of crafts, including sewing, knitting, floristry, candle making, and decoupage. I also cherish spending quality time with my family and socialising with friends, balancing my professional life with the hobbies and relationships that bring me joy.

I would love to welcome you for a visit at Heathland House, as part of my role is to help people find the right care and support in their later years and to help you through what can be a hard task, especially if you have not been in the position of caring for a loved one before or you do not know what support or help is available.


Having supported two of my own family members to find the right care for them in previous years and been involved in older persons' housing for longer than I would like to mention, it would be a privilege to assist you in your search.

What I Do
I am the Business Administrator at Heathland House. I oversee the financial and HR operations of the home, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. I also manage and support the Administration Assistants and reception team, helping to create an organised, efficient, and welcoming environment for both residents and staff.

I bring over 30 years of experience in finance and administration across a variety of industries. I take pride in applying this knowledge and expertise every day to support the smooth running of Heathland House. I genuinely enjoy being part of the team and contributing to the stories of the residents and staff who make this home so special.


About Me
Born and raised in Hampshire, I am married with two wonderful children and share my home with two mischievous Standard Schnauzers. When I’m not out walking the dogs, I love to lose myself in a good sci-fi book or try (often with mixed results!) to tame my garden.

My Experience
Originally from Bournemouth, I love spending time by the seaside with my family. I am also an avid motorcycle builder and passionate about music, having played in several bands over the years. My hobbies reflect my hands-on, creative nature and bring balance and enjoyment to my life outside of work.

What I Do
I am the Head Chef at Heathland House, responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving fresh, seasonal, and nutritious meals. I create seasonal menus and lead the kitchen team to ensure every mealtime is not only delicious but also an enjoyable experience for our residents. My team and I take pride in making every dish with care and attention, turning each meal into a highlight of the day.


My Experience
I have been cooking for 10 years and have been part of Cinnamon for nearly 8 years. I began as a kitchen assistant and worked my way up to Head Chef, developing both my culinary skills and leadership experience along the way. I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Production Cooking and was honoured with the Non-Care Team Member of the Year award at the Cinnamon Awards, recognising my contribution to the team and the home.


About Me
Before becoming a chef, I spent 8 years working as a qualified carpenter. I lived in Canada for 3 years, where I first started working in kitchens and discovered my true passion and love for food. While there, I also became a devoted fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, a passion I continue to follow from England. Recently, I purchased a house with my fiancé, and we are looking forward to starting a family in the future.

I take pride in listening to each resident, tailoring activities to their individual preferences and interests. I also strive to ensure that every activity reflects Cinnamon’s core values and high standards by incorporating both physical and mental stimulation to support and enhance each resident’s cognitive and physical wellbeing.


My Experience
Prior to joining Heathland House, I gained valuable experience across a variety of unique roles. My passion for theatre began early, and I worked as a children’s entertainer at the Sandbanks Hotel while completing my BA Honors degree in musical theatre. At 22, I chose to explore a different path, completing a master’s degree in Zoo Biology and beginning my career as a zookeeper, specialising in the care of large mammals.


Alongside this, I took on a role as a domiciliary carer, where I discovered a genuine passion for the care sector. This experience led me to a supervisory position within a domiciliary care company, which I enjoyed, but I knew I wanted a role that was more active and creative — a journey that ultimately brought me to Heathland House.


About Me
I grew up in Ferndown and moved to Southampton in 2017 to complete my university degree. I’ve stayed there ever since and now share my home with my two cats, Raya and Eva. I’m a very active person who loves a challenge — I regularly take part in running events, and my biggest goal will be completing the London Marathon in 2026. When I’m not on the move, I love getting lost in a good story, whether it’s in a book or at the cinema.
