I am the General Manager at Outram Fields Care Home. I am passionate about providing the highest standards of care and support to the people who choose to live with us and ensuring my team operate to the same level. It is a real privilege to care for the residents at Outram Fields, and my whole purpose is to ensure that we aim to be the best in everything we provide.
What I do:
I am proud to be the Deputy Manager at Outram Fields, and I am deeply passionate about delivering the high standard of care that each resident deserves. I always strive to achieve the best possible outcome for each person.
My experience:
With many years of experience in the care sector, I have worked in care homes since 2016, specialising in dementia care and providing compassionate support to residents while also guiding and reassuring families through what can often be a challenging journey.
To me, working at Outram Fields is never just a job—it’s a privilege. Caring for our residents and supporting them in their personal journey is incredibly rewarding. I am equally committed to mentoring and guiding our care team members, helping them grow in their own careers and ensuring that we, as a team, provide the best possible care to those who need it.
About me:
Outside of work, I’m kept busy by my little girl, who certainly keeps me on my toes! I cherish spending time with my partner, friends, and family. We enjoy dining out, travelling, and making memories together. When I have a moment to relax, you’ll often find me watching reality TV (much to my partner’s amusement) and surrounded by anything pink!
I have worked in the health and social care sector for four years. I understand that moving into a care home is just as important and daunting for the family as it is for the resident and will help and support you every step of the way.
What I Do
I work closely with Claire to support individuals, families and friends who are looking for care for themselves or a loved one. From the very first enquiry, through to moving into Outram Fields, I’m here to help guide people through the process and make it feel as smooth, supportive and stress-free as possible.
I understand that choosing the right care home can feel overwhelming and emotional. Having experienced this myself with my own family, I know how important it is to feel listened to and supported. I aim to be there every step of the way, offering reassurance, guidance and a friendly face during what can often be a difficult time.
My Experience
My journey into this role has been shaped by both my career and growing up around the care sector. I studied Sociology and Politics at university while working as a Health Advisor for NHS 111. After this, I moved into hospitality, working as a Sales and Events Co-ordinator in a hotel before progressing to Conference, Events and Sales Manager. During this time, I realised how much I enjoy working with people, building relationships and being part of important moments in their lives, which is what eventually led me back to the care sector.
Care has always been a big part of my life. My mum has worked in care since she was 19 and is still at the same home today, so I’ve grown up seeing the dedication and compassion it takes to do this job well. Because of that, I understand how important trust, empathy and honesty are when supporting families through such an important decision.
About Me
When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me out walking my dog, spending time with my friends and fiancé, or curled up watching a film, I’m a big movie fan. I’ve also always loved musical theatre and have been involved in performing on stage since I was young, so I’ll never say no to a good show tune.
I also have dual nationality with Australia and lived there for a short time when I was younger, which is where my love for adventure and travel really began.
What I do:
My role is to plan and deliver an engaging, varied and inclusive programme of activities for every resident at Outram Fields. Each task aims to promote mental well-being: this is done through a variety of physical, creative, therapeutic, sensory, and artistic tasks that facilitate experiences to enable residents to build on what they know and enjoy already and allow them the opportunity to experience something new in a social, caring, and friendly environment. This can be achieved in large, small, and individual groups. We welcome members of the community to come to Outram, whether that be pupils from the local school, a toddler group, volunteers, or experts – the key is to enable residents to continue to develop successful relationships.
My experience:
During the last 25 years, I have taught in primary schools in Cheshire, North Wales, and Sheffield. Moving to Outram Fields to pursue a career in the Care Industry has allowed me to use my experience of building strong, caring relationships with individuals and to plan and implement creative and interactive activities: meeting the needs of everyone, allowing everyone the opportunity to succeed.
About me:
There is nothing I like more than to be out in the fresh air: whether that’s a walk in the Peak District or pottering around my garden. I am also a member of the Derbyshire Scouting Association Climbing team. We regularly meet groups of Cubs, Scouts and Explorers delivering abseiling, climbing and crate stacking sessions. When I’m not out and about, I enjoy visiting the cinema or meeting friends for a drink and a catch-up.
What I do:
My role at Outram Fields is to lead the catering team within the home to prepare, cook and serve high-quality meals which are appetising, nutritious and centred on residents’ preferences.
My experience:
I left Sheffield at age 17 and headed to London, where I started as a kitchen porter. I now have over 20 years of experience as a Head Chef in Hotels, mainly in Berkshire, Shropshire and Buckinghamshire, and an additional 14 years of experience in the care sector. Before this role, I was a regional chef for Four Seasons Healthcare.
About me:
In my spare time, any chance I get, you will find me outside in the garden, or walking my dog Bud. I have a grandson, who also keeps me on my toes.
What I do:
My role is to work alongside the Head Chef and ensure that our residents and visitors get the best possible hospitality experience at Outram Fields. This may be from a simple cup of coffee with cake, to a 3-course meal with wine in our Private Dining room. I ensure our Café & Bar area is always stocked up and ready for our Visitors and our Dining rooms are set to the highest standard and look inviting for our residents.
My experience:
I am a trained sommelier and cannot wait to share my passion for wine with you all. I have been working in hospitality for 17 years now, including 12 hotels/restaurants in London in a lot of different settings.
About me:
I was born in Dunkerque France and moved to London in 2011. I love spending time with my son and can’t wait to explore the peak district (I’m still new in Sheffield) with him. I am also really passionate about photography.
