My husband was at Adel Manor for three months on end of life care. The whole place is beautifully kept and right from the first time we visited the staff were welcoming and made us feel at home. The place has a very calm atmosphere and it was a pleasure just to be able to relax in the lounge and read a book at times. One of the reasons we looked at Adel Manor was the size of the bedrooms. They are a really good size and could easily accommodate the many visitors my husband had. He felt safe and well cared for and staff were very alert to his changing needs. I had complete confidence in leaving him in their care. If we had any concerns they were always addressed promptly and the local palliative care team were consulted regularly. My thanks especially go to Bruno, Ivona and all the nursing and hospitality staff. Also thanks to the whole team for enabling us to have a party and to put on music events. I feel so lucky that there was a vacancy when we needed it.

I can't thank the staff enough for the care and compassion they showed Mum for the past 2 years. From the very start they made her feel welcome, safe and truly at home. The team were always kind, patient and attentive-treating her with dignity and respect every day.
The environment was clean, warm and well managed. There was always something going on with the excellent "well being" team organising activities etc every day. The hospitality and housekeeping team were extremely efficient and always made us feel welcome when visiting.
The communication from Management and Staff was always efficient and detailed so we always knew if there were any issues and what they were doing about them.

I cannot thank the team enough for the care they gave Mum and I would highly recommend Adel Manor.

My mother has been at Adel manor for the last few months and I must say I feel like we won the lottery finding this home for her.
All the staff without exception are amazing, in the way they care for all the residents. The kindness, the way they take time to get to know my mums personality, her preferences and her little ways of doing things have all added to her settling in well and allowed us to relax as a family know she is getting the best care possible.

It is a magical place where people are respected and treated in the best way possible.

My husband Bill has been a resident at Adel Manor Care Home for 21 months now. My family and I would like to thank all the staff for their kindness and help, which they have been giving him over these months, to make his life as easy and comfortable as possible. We also thank the chef for his varied menu and also the housekeeping their prompt action on keeping his room clean and tidy. My personal thanks to management and carers for their kindness and help to me at this trying time. You are very lucky to have such kind and dedicated staff. On behalf of all residents, I wish them well in the future.

The first thing I noticed is the pleasant surroundings and nice vibe as soon as arriving on premises. Absolutely no off-putting smell as is often in care homes! The staff are all very friendly and everyone knows my mum by name and have positive words to share. My mum prefers female carers to help her with hygiene issues and they are absolutely respectful of it and gentle and patient. Well done to the very sweet Lisa, to Abu, Ivona, Bruno and everyone and of course Marsha for staying on top of everything, for thinking of all the details that make for a cosy, homely residence and nursing home. I can be in my home on other side of world knowing my mum is safe and well looked after.

I moved into Adel Manor Care Centre just over 3 months ago. Right from the outset, I was treated with dignity and respect. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who are positive, cheerful and extremely helpful. My room is always kept clean; the meals are always tasty, with plenty of choice; activities are plentiful; and the gardens are a delight. Without exception, the care staff have gone out of their way to become familiar with my needs and preferences. The nursing staff are extremely committed, so there is no need for any anxiety on my part. Without doubt, Adel Manor is an extremely well-run care centre and my thanks go to all the staff and, in particular, to the manager, Marsha, who keeps all the balls in the air!

We visited our sister in law today and had lunch with her.

The care was exceptional. We loved the calm, peaceful atmosphere, and the attention that was given to each resident was wonderful to see. My sister-in-law has improved remarkably since returning from the hospital following a stroke. The staff were fully aware of her care plan and were clearly helping her to regain her skills. The lunch was well presented and tasty. We are so grateful to all the staff for their dedication and exceptional skills.

We could not be more pleased with the care our mum received during her 3 week respite stay at Adel Manor. From the first informal visit, we were all treated with warm, professional support and care.

Mum described every member of staff as friendly, kind, supportive and caring. Her room was beautiful - equipped with all she needed for a very comfortable stay. Mum thoroughly enjoyed all the meals and threw herself wholeheartedly into the full and varied range of activities - something she would not have done without genuine, caring encouragement.

My uncle has been here for a while now and I'm honestly very happy with how things are going. He's having a wonderful time and always seems settled and content when we visit. The staff are friendly, caring and clearly take great pride in what they do. I feel that nothing we ask is too much for the staff & they are always responsive to us. The food is always tasty, well presented and he really enjoys it. There is a good variety of meals. Overall, it's a lovely place with a great atmosphere, and we're very grateful for the care and attention he receives.

Mum was an emergency admission after becoming seriously ill and unable to cope even with many daily visits from a number of carers at her home. Marsha was absolutely fantastic, arranging and facilitating the move very swiftly.
Since moving in Mum has started regaining her strength and appetite; there is some way to go. The daily available activities are varied and an excellent way for the residents to make friends and enjoy their latter years.
All of the staff are very friendly and dedicated to making sure all the residents are looked after in a proper fashion. The home is a clean, safe environment with a wonderful garden and comfortable bedrooms where items can be added - she has brought a beloved picture for the wall so it feels as though it is her new home. The lounges are spacious warm and very comfortable and the dining area doesn't seem crowded or like a staff canteen. From what I have seen the food is great.

A big thank-you from her son.

Mum went to Adel Manor in August this year. From the first day, she has been met with nothing but kindness and care by everyone.

The staff are fantastic, they have organised appointments for eye care, hearing and dental needs. When asked, Mum said she would rather be in Adel Manor than at home alone. This gives so much peace of mind for us. Asked if she had any complaints, she said "the food sometimes", otherwise, no complaints at all.

We cannot express enough thanks for those who cared for our precious dad at Adel Manor. We were treated with kindness and compassion from our first meeting with Keegan who immediately understood our needs and most important, those of our dad. The care was exceptional and Adel Manor itself is a beautiful place. Our dad was settled and we had confidence in all those looking after him for the short time he was there. Thank you so much for the kindness you showed us the day we lost dad, we will never forget it.

The care was outstanding from the minute my dad arrived until the day he passed. He was treated with dignity and compassion and this was extended to our whole family. The environment was superb with knowledgeable staff whose primary focus was to provide the very best care for all clients. Our mum had to move into a care home unexpectedly and Adel Manor were the only local Care Home who could assess her and accept her within a day. How lucky we were that they had a respite bed available. She was welcomed with open arms. The facilities are like a hotel and the staff are absolutely wonderful. She settled in really well and we were so fortunate that after two weeks they had a permanent bed available. Mum always said she didn't ever want to go into a Care Home but now she she would not choose to go home even if she was able to. She has made new friends, done alsorts of activities including holding a snake and stroking a llama and has been taken on outings despite having to be in a wheelchair. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the management are visible and responsive. At 92, our mum has had a new lease of life. Thank you so much Adel Manor, you are amazing.

Mum originally moved to Adel Manor for respite care after a difficult stay in hospital. Right from the start she was made to feel welcome and included in the Adel Manor community. She immediately felt safe and well looked after by the whole team. After a few weeks, she made the decision to make Adel Manor her permanent home.
As a family who live 200 miles away, we know that Mum is receiving excellent care; any medical issues are quickly discussed with the local GP and swift action is taken. Mum has all her favourite paintings from home in her room and a lovely view of the garden.
We enjoy our visits to Adel Manor and always receive a warm welcome from staff who are kind and thoughtful.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Adel Manor.

I have been visiting a friend of the family at Adel Manor, and have been so impressed with the care there. It has a lovely friendly atmosphere. The staff are so caring and extremely professional. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The staff get to you know by name and visa versa. The manager's door is very rarely closed. Both she and the management team are very approachable. The facilities are wonderful. Very clean, with good security. The food looks tasty. Plus I have enjoyed being privy to the entertainment and activities too. Overall an excellent carehome. Which I would highly recommend.

Marsha Job Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2024

I’ve worked in residential Care since I was 18 years old and never looked back, becoming a Home Manager in my early twenties in Cambridge, where I became particularly interested in Dementia Care. Today I live in Leeds, overseeing the day-to-day running of Adel Manor Care Centre. Leading and managing staff so they can perform their roles to the best of their ability, ensuring that they have the skills to care for all older people within the home, and ensuring that dignity and respect are paramount. Enabling people to live a fulfilling life whilst living at Adel Manor, empowering well-being and ensuring that all older people have a voice and a role to play in Adel Manor. I hold a BSc in Dementia Studies. Training and mentoring people in dementia care is my speciality and my passion. I‘ve enjoyed several roles in my career, including a National Dementia Role and a Home Manager. I have been fortunate to work with inspirational professionals throughout. But my greatest pleasure and privilege remains meeting the wonderful and interesting people who’ve resided in the homes over the years. The foundation of my management style is to be open and honest; that applies at all levels, from the staff team, senior management and of course, the residents around whom all our efforts should be centred. This, of course, extends to friends and family too, to create a holistic and relational model of care.

In my spare time, I love spending quality time with my family and relaxing. I live in Leeds with my partner and two aged Chihuahuas. I’m mum to a grown-up daughter and her little boy, our grandson Oscar, the apple of my eye, who is five years old. I’m happy now to be settled in Yorkshire, which is a lovely place to live with lots to discover and enjoy locally and farther afield. It’s a great place full of great people.

My background is as a registered Pharmacy Technician, and I have worked in the pharmacy profession for 14 years. I have worked in a variety of settings, including community pharmacies, and acute and mental health hospitals and for the last 5 years, I have supported care homes with the safe management of medication. I have a passion for improving standards of care within care home settings and have supported a variety of care homes across Leeds to develop robust procedures with a focus on medicine safety. Working in a care home is incredibly rewarding, primarily because of the residents themselves. Each day, I am inspired by their resilience, warmth, and unique personalities. Building meaningful relationships with residents and witnessing the joy and gratitude they express, even in the face of challenges, makes every moment worthwhile.

I’m originally from Doncaster but have lived in Leeds for the last 4 years. I’m a dog dad to 2 high-energy dogs who keep me very busy!

Diana
Diana Job Title:Head of Dementia Care

I am currently working as Head of Dementia at Adel Manor Care Home, where I have progressed from my previous role as Team Leader. I have over 8 years’ experience as a home care worker, during which I developed a strong foundation in supporting individuals with a wide range of needs. I have also worked in a care home that specialised in dementia care, gaining valuable hands-on experience in supporting residents living with dementia. This background has helped me build the skills, knowledge, and compassion needed to lead and support high-quality dementia care within my current role.

Matthew
Matthew Job Title:Head of Care

I moved to Leeds in 2021, where I found a job as a Care Assistant, which I loved. I heard about Adel Manor when it first opened in 2022, and within 3 months, I was promoted to a Team Leader. A year later, I was promoted again to Head of Care. I am passionate about my role and strive to ensure we are providing the best care whilst uplifting both residents and staff.

Corina
Corina Job Title:Wellbeing CoordinatorJoined: 2022

My name is Corina, and I am employed as the well-being coordinator at Adel Manor. I have worked in Health Care for over 20 years and in a variety of roles. I now work in well-being, as I get to work closely with the residents to provide meaningful activities and social stimulation, whilst making new memories and helping them to reminisce on old ones. I enjoy my job a great deal as I look forward to making a lasting impact on the lives of others, whilst stimulating their mind, body, and soul. If I can make just one person smile each day, then I can rest at night happy.

Mel
Mel Job Title:Head Housekeeper

I started my career in the suited-and-booted world of Lloyd’s of London, working my way up from post opener to claims handler. Life took a new direction when my children came along, and I began working in a primary school so I could be there for them. As a single mum with little support, it was the best way to balance work and family.

When my mum became unwell, I cared for her as her health declined. In the last couple of months of her life, I started working at Adel. I wanted to do something meaningful, to help people, just as I had done with the children at school, but now with older generations.

Having been through the experience of placing my own mum in a care home, I know how difficult it can be for families. That’s why I give my all to our residents and their loved ones. If I can make even one person’s experience a little easier, then I know I’ve done my job.

Outside of work, I enjoy music and arts and crafts - anything creative that helps me unwind and express myself.
