Long Eaton View Care Home

Both my parents have became full time residents due to their dementia making them unsafe to be at home. My mum recently passed away after a stroke & the staff were so caring, and she was treated with dignity until the end by all the staff every day. They would phone me day & night if there were any concerns of updates. The staff became like an extended family during this difficult time, supporting my family through it.. They are now supporting my dad during this loss and keeping him entertained and caring for him. The staff phone me if they have any concerns about him. There are activities provided twice a day, my dad enjoys the karaoke and especially when they have singers in. He also likes the arts & crafts and joins in with the exercise's. He enjoys the food especially having a hot meal at lunchtime. I feel he is safe and cared for.

My husband has Alzheimers and has recently spent two weeks respite care at Long Eaton View. He has been quite contented to stay there due to the friendliness of all the staff and the excellent care and consideration they have shown him. Also when I have visited I too have been given a warm welcome. The care home was recommended to us. We hope to visit again.

Not a complaint, but would be nice if the bedding was changed more frequently. Would also be nice if district nurses and facility team got in touch with residents' families to keep them in the picture of what's happening to their loved ones. Big lack of communication.

Dad was in a care home for 2 years plus and although the environment was not good and seemed in a poor state he was always content, treated with respect and dignity and with love by care staff. Mum's experience at Long Eaton View is not as positive and staff commitment varies. At times she has felt neglected and not respected. The majority of the staff are excellent and endeavour to make life as comfortable as possible for the residents. The food has previously been acceptable but not good, activities good - Lisa and Sonia particularly welcoming and committed.

View Care, what can I say! It is absolutely an amazing place. I have no problem at all, the staff are brilliant. Each and every one. No matter what there position is.

Our friend came in to Long Eaton View in March 2026. It took him a couple of weeks to settle, but staff have helped a great deal with that process. He now has a lovely rappor with most of the staff during the day and at night. He appears well cared for. He always appears well dressed and his personal hygiene well attended too. He is happy with the room he has enjoys the canal view. He is starting to speak fondly of particular staff members and other residents.

I have been visiting several people in the home over the last few years (since not long after opening). Recently there has been a change for the better in the atmosphere. The staff seem more relaxed and happier and have time to chat to the residents individually. The home always looks very clean and smells fresh.

Food for vegetarian not good. Car park is usually full with staff cars. Lifts need attention. Tripping hazard in car park reported 6 weeks ago still the same.

My first experince of Long Eaton View care home was in January after my wife was transferred after her previous care home was closed down. I was pleasantly surprised by how welcoming the staff were, I was shown around by a young lady, she was very knowledgeable and professional and showed a very helpful approach towards us. I felt happy my wife was in a far better place than previously and she now seems very happy in her new surroundings.

My father-in-law spent 2 weeks in the home, on respite basis. We are so grateful that is was such a positive experience, which will dispel anxiety in any future need to return. The atmosphere in the home is wonderful throughout. All staff are open and friendly. It is very clear that residents care and welfare is of the highest standard in all aspects. An absolute pleasure for resident and visitors. Thank you so much, superb meals too.

The building is new, so light and airy, well decorated and the cleaning staff are very good. When I have arrived to visit there has always been space in the car park. Some care staff are fantastic, giving a high standard of personal care and treating residents with the utmost respect, others less so. Waits to be taken from the lounge to the toilet, for non-mobile residents are regularly too long. Assurances are given that staffing ratios meet government guidelines, so the home should look again at how staff are deployed in order to avoid unacceptable waits.

The care my relative received at the end of her life was exceptional. She was never left on her own and it was always ensured that she was kept comfortable and pain-free. The staff were also very kind to the people who were visiting and grieving.

It's a lovely care home, everyone is nice and caring. Each time I've gone in as a visitor you are greeted with a warm welcome. The staff are very caring to the residents, and helpful. The place is spotless and so I've heard the food is lovely. My friend is very happy there. Overall I would recommend the home to others.

My mother-in-law settled very happily and quickly into Long Eaton View. A big thank you to all the staff for surrounding her with excellent care and kindness. The home is bright, modern and clean at all times. We couldn't have asked for better care for her during her time with you and the reassurance this gave her family.

She was always treated with respect and dignity by everyone. We as a family were so pleased to find this 'gem' and very grateful to you all for her care.

Every visit I am amazed by the kindness and warmth from all staff. The building is always clean and inviting. Your receptionist is a darling.

My mum has been made to feel very welcome since she moved into Long Eaton View. The carers and staff are very friendly and helpful. I would say that the tea time food does need to be slightly varied but nothing major. Would recommend this care home to others.

Managers are very approachable, knowledgeable, and informative. I have found them all to want the best for all the residents in their care.

Professional assessment prior to accepting transfer from another care provider. Welcoming environment and staff. Staff keen to understand needs and interests of father-in-law. Would recommend to others.
