I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff and carers who look after my dad, my sister and I appreciate everything they do for him. He seems to get on with all the staff & loves their company, he also loves to be in the garden which is his favourite place.

The Rivers Team
I visit the care home twice a week and I am very happy with the care which is given to my son. The carers are very helpful. When I visit I am made welcome and know that I am allowed to visit at anytime, which is wonderful. I know that my son is safe and his health has improved.
Kind regards,
Marina Maisurjants
It is very difficult to leave Mum at the home after we have taken her out, it is distressing for her & us. The team members totally understand this & distract Mum with offers of tea, a biscuit & a chat as appropriate.
Attention to detail could be improved, as I am sure it can in many residential homes. Personal examples are: no toilet roll in the residents private toilet, missing top sheet at 8.45pm at night with only a fluffy blanket to cover Mum up & jugs of juice being given to Mum despite her notes stating water only.
I hope that these small, yet important occurrences will not happen again now that the new Manager is onboard. All new, current & agency staff need to regularly read the residents notes, it is imperative.
Good & prompt communication with two members of staff on email.
Good link to local medical support.
Thank you for caring.
Dear Sharron,Thank you for your kind words about the compassion and support shown to your mum and family - the team will be so pleased to know their care is appreciated. I'm sorry for the concerns you've raised regarding attention to detail and assure you these have been addressed with the team....
Staff always on the move but always find time to answer questions when needed. Never have I been in The Rivers without seeing cleaning taking place. The staff treat all the residents with care and as individuals. The food always looks and smells great and have a great choice. I am always informed if there is a problem with my aunty and I'm happy to know she is getting well looked after.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is such a pleasure to look after your aunty. I will pass on your kind words to the staff team.
After a hip replacement in June 2023, my mum started with vascular dementia. It was full on (and not slow). In October 2024 we decided to have full time care and placed her in The Rivers, The Croft, Knottingley. My mum passed away on 06.02.2025. All the seniors and carers were absolutely amazing. The care and attention and love, may I add, that they showed my mum was phenomenal. This pace really is home from home. We got close to the people who looked after Mum. Truly like family at the end of Mum's journey. Thank you all so very much.
Thank you very much for your kind words. It was a pleasure caring for your mum and you all as a family. I will pass on your kind words to the staff team. Take care.
We couldn't be happier with how well my grandma is cared for by the team. They're so very caring and supportive, not just of my grandma, but with us as a family also. It was a difficult and upsetting situation how my grandma ending up needing care. The support and reassurance the team gave us was so greatly appreciated. And 3 months in, the proof is in the pudding. My grandma is in better health and spirit than I've known her for a long time. THANK YOU!
Thank you very much for your kind words. It is lovely to hear that we are meeting your expectations. We adore looking after your grandma and yourselves as a family. I will pass on your kind words to the staff team.
I have found nothing but respect, professionalism, friendliness, humour and support from all the staff (without exception) to my sister and myself as a visitor. It's lovely to see her happy and well and engaging with so many, although she does like chatting to the staff. The activities, especially pet therapy, are great. It's also nice to have a chat with the resident dogs who we are slowly making friends with. Facilities are kept wonderfully clean and nothing appears to be too much trouble whilst carrying out an exceptionally demanding job.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we take all feedback on-board. It is a pleasure to look after your sister and yourself as family. This is something we strive for at The Rivers. I will ensure your kind review is passed on to the care staff and wider team. Thank you.
Nappy full wee. Not shaved or teeth brushed. Pooh crusted on his fingernails.
This is not the first time he has been found in this mess.

We were welcomed and involved in his care plans and the move from home to care home went so much better than expected.
Everyone was welcoming, friendly and did all they could to make Dad feel safe and welcome. The move was a pleasure and relief to us all as a family, staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.
Thank you for your positive and kind feedback. We are happy that your dad and family feel a warm welcome at The Rivers.
I wanted to share my experience with the care home where my dad now resides. Since his recent move, the staff have truly exceeded all expectations in making his room feel like a home and welcoming him with open arms. The communication with the staff has been exceptional, and as a result, my dad has settled in seamlessly. Every member of the staff is not only friendly and helpful but also exudes genuine empathy and dedication to ensuring the well-being and happiness of all residents. It's heartwarming to see the level of care and compassion that they provide on a daily basis.
Mum recently spent two weeks in respite care at The Rivers following a hospital stay. The staff were excellent, all extremely friendly and patient with Mum. During her stay her appetite improved and we saw her gain confidence when using a walker to help her get around.

My dad recently spent 5 weeks at The Rivers and I cannot fault this place at all. Each time I visited I always found it to be spotlessly clean. The staff are all lovely and have always been so kind to my Dad. Would highly recommend this care home

Elderly mother in full-time care. The home was better than expected. She received excellent care, and at all times was treated with respect and courtesy. The entire staff were excellent, treating all the residents with kindness, with dignity, and caring for their comfort and support. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to anyone. All round excellent career could not have been better cared for or treated.
