Having looked at several homes, I especially like the fact that here there are several areas for residents and visitors to sit in, and that all the residents' rooms are en-suite, a decent size, and very comfortable. I visit several times each week, and have found all the staff extremely kind and friendly.
The management has an open door policy and any change to care can be discussed and is acted on. A lovely place to be.

My husband was admitted to the White House Care Home on January 5th. He is receiving Palliative care.
From the minute he arrived he has been made to feel very welcome. He is receiving excellent care and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Their kindness friendliness and caring has been
commendable.
The food is delicious and my husband is now eating well and enjoying it.
The atmosphere is calm and there are comfortable seating areas to take visitors.
Tea and coffee and a ready supply of cakes and biscuits are always available.
Bedrooms are all en-suite and the whole place is clean warm and very cosy.
A perfect place for my husband to spend however long he has left.

Always greeted by someone and will help to sign in if needed. All the staff are all friendly to visitors. They know where the person is who you want to visit. There are all sorts of different things planned to keep the residents interested. The staff are always around and care so well. I saw one man
being helped quietly, and often, when I was visiting my friend for an hour. Everything people need has been thought about and done. Always welcome and a lovely atmosphere. As a visitor I don't know what the cost, but I am sure the value is excellent.

We took advantage of the respite package for Mum here to facilitate an adhoc holiday. We were very nervous about leaving her, but the home manager reassured us and the carers were affectionate, fun and efficient. Also one staff member in particular whose chat calmed Mum right down. The bedrooms with
bathrooms and all the public rooms are of top-class hotel standard. The food is something else, (amazing chef) top restaurant quality with a good choice and you can ask to have lunch with your loved one in a white tablecloth restaurant setting, a real treat. The whole atmosphere is to provide what the resident wishes with attractive sitting areas and activities. The qualified nurse is caring and attentive and calmed Mum right down with her lovely smile. She is an asset. Recommend for anyone considering respite.

When we first went to the home to see if it was suitable for Mum we were impressed with not only the facilities but the staff, they are caring and kind to both residents and visitors.
Mum found the change difficult when she went into the home but the staff helped her cope and she has now settled well.
We know this home was the right choice for Mum and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking for a care home.
We cannot thank the staff enough for all they have done for both Mum and us.

When I met the manager, I felt that this was the right place for Mum. Although the environment was lovely, it was the ethos that was most important, and she was knowledgeable and reassuring about the care they offered. My mum was only with us for two weeks before sadly passing away, however, the care
that she received, as well as the care we as a family received, was outstanding. During the two weeks I was at the home every day all day and during that time I was able to observe first-hand the way in which the staff cared for the residents. Even in challenging situations, there was a sense of calm and patience. Special thanks to the staff member who always made sure I had what I needed and the carer who gave Mum her last shower and washed her hair, when she was so weak, and the staff who listened when I needed an offload. I can't thank all of the team, from the management down to the lovely cleaners enough. You made a very difficult situation easier. Thank you.

There appears to be nothing the staff will not do, always responding in a positive and happy manner.
The home feels fresh and airy and is always clean and tidy.
It is always a difficult decision where to place a loved one but when they say they are “in the best place and well looked after” it is
very reassuring. Whilst it would be wonderful to believe all homes offer the same standard of care, news reports prove this isn’t the case. We consider ourselves very fortunate.

My grandmother is staying at White House Care Home, she has been there for a year now. My grandad was there before he died in May last year. I don't live locally so it's good to know how well looked after she is and when I go to visit her everyone is so welcoming to me. My mum and aunty visit a lot
but the staff know me too. They always seem to be caring and kind both to my grandmother and also to my mum and dad as well.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.864)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.864) out of 10 for White House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.864 for White House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (270 Excellents x 5) + (36 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 309 Ratings = 4.864
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for White House Care Home is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
