My relative required care at short notice. All staff were extremely helpful and arranged admission swiftly. She was made very welcome and settled in very quickly. Excellent care is being given making her feel safe. She has been in other care homes but none compared to the care shown at Chartwell House.

Can't thank the staff at Chartwell House enough for caring for my dad. It's a tough, emotionally draining time for relatives, so can't imagine how hard it is for the staff, looking after so many elderly guests at the home. But they have been wonderful. This year we have been lucky enough for my mother to have a permanent residential place on the memory floor at Chartwell House, with her own ensuite room and access to all the communal areas on the secure floor.
Staff are highly trained, compassionate and genuinely dedicated to the well-being of the
residents, who they all know by name. During visits, family members are also warmly welcomed.
A monthly calendar of activities engages residents, both morning and afternoon. These include music, art and craft, quizzes and accessible exercise sessions in the lounges or outside in the large gardens. Outings to local shops, cafes and seafronts are an important and safely organised part of mums care.
If you are looking for the best environment for a loved one with dementia, Chartwell House is it!
We knew from our very first meeting with the admissions manager, we had found the right place.

Our happy family lives were shattered this year when my husband received a diagnosis of vascular dementia. His condition deteriorated rapidly and I was left with the heartbreaking decision of having to find an alternative home for him after nearly 50 years together.
Thankfully, a room became available
at Chartwell and, since then, our lives have brightened and the burden of this awful disease has been alleviated. I now know that all of my husband's needs are met in this comfortable and spotlessly clean home. The food is varied, well presented and nutritious and he is provided with every comfort. More importantly, the wonderful staff genuinely know him and care for him. Nothing is too much trouble for them and I can see that he is relaxed and contented in their company.
Chartwell has lifted the stress and sadness from our family's situation and we are eternally grateful for their loving kindness. I cannot speak more highly of this wonderful home.

Everyone has been fantastic from admission for my Father upon discharge from hospital in May 2024 direct to Chartwell House as he couldn't return to his own home.
All of the staff show kindness and compassion at a very difficult time for us.
The care that Dad receives on the memory floor for his needs
is exemplary.

My mother has been living at Chartwell House for approximately 5 weeks.
We chose Chartwell House for numerous reasons; specialist 'memory' facilities, spacious and well laid out environment, welcoming atmosphere and it was quite apparent to us that it was well resourced in terms of staffing and the
wide range of stimulating/fun activities available for residents. (They produce and share a schedule for the month ahead which outlines activities available each morning and afternoon).
The standard of care has been first class - and the staff go out of their way to be helpful and supportive to us as a family too, which is so appreciated especially when you have a close family member with dementia. Being able to book a table in their Bistro area and have a meal with your loved one is also a special feature of Chartwell House.

We were in for 3 weeks respite and made to feel very welcome. The staff were very friendly and would do their utmost to fulfil any requests made. The new building was pristine having only been open for less than 2 years and the fixtures and fittings gave the impression of a good class hotel. We particularly
liked the Bistro, the actual meeting place where most of the activity occurred and smaller lounges were available on all floors. The food was usually well-cooked. The entertainment team had events morning and afternoon and were very jolly. The gardens gave the impression of tranquillity with plenty of seats and sunshades. Overall, we found little to complain about.

My sister has been at Chartwell just over a year now and despite saying "I'm not selling my bungalow" before coming and has never looked back from the day she arrived. She knows and gets on extremely well with both residents and staff. She joins in with all activities provided by the Home and her friends
and family are made very welcome. Chartwell was recommended to us and we are delighted with it. My wife and I could not have found a better home for her to live out her latter years.

Mum was whisked into the delightful Chartwell House within 4 days. The professionalism, speed, and compassion shown to her during a difficult time. They are committed to the care of the residents, warm, caring, kind, and dedicated. My mother had experienced a period of short-term care in another home
which did not go well. Chartwell has brought the mum I knew back, she feels safe, and happy and is enjoying the friendships she is making with so many of the lovely residents. The activities Chartwell for the residents are beautifully organised and great fun. A full list of daily events to join. The rooms are beautifully appointed with an open and airy feel some looking onto the beautiful, well-manicured, and colourful grounds. The menus are good and residents can ask for other dishes not on the menu. The personal care plans for the individuals are well written and followed to the last letter. The open and transparent communication between the home and the relations is exceptional.

My mother is on the memory floor and she has now settled in and could not be happier. I think this is the happiest I have seen her in years. The staff are truly wonderful and the activities every day are great. Chartwell House is more like a 5-star hotel. They have bands and singers come and perform,
my mum loves it, she is up dancing and having a great time. They even go out to Westwood Cross for hot chocolate and have been 10-pin bowling.
The level of care is what makes the difference. The staff are more like friends and family. Thank you everyone for taking such good care of my mum.

Dad (age 91) has now been at Chartwell for four months. We looked at one other place, but Chartwell was off the scale in comparison in all respects. Being new and purpose-built, there is plenty of light and space in both the en-suite bedrooms and the multiple lounges, no steps to worry about, lovely
gardens (Dad even has a private patio area), and everywhere is beautifully decorated. They offer so many activities, outings and events that residents are kept entertained and stimulated rather than just sitting in a circle watching TV, as seems to be the norm at many care homes. The staff are all lovely and as regular visitors you are welcomed at any time with drinks and homemade cakes and you can join in the many events. It really feels like an extended family home where grandchildren and even family pets can visit. I have no hesitation in recommending Chartwell to everyone. If you look around there first, I promise you won't want your loved one to live anywhere else.

I chose respite care at Chartwell House after knee surgery rather than rely on my family and friends. It was definitely the right decision.
As soon as I arrived, I was taken over by lovely staff who dealt with my bags, immediately made me comfortable brought me a cup of tea, took me to my tasteful
room with a patio door to the garden, and unpacked my suitcase for me. It couldn’t have been a nicer, welcome, setting the tone for the rest of my stay.
Nothing was too much trouble. I only had to press a buzzer to call one of the staff who all looked after me so well day or night. They were happy, friendly, and great company to have around. The Bistro staff also were lovely and provided tea/coffee with cake or biscuits with a smile.
The food that I had in my room or in the restaurant I chose was excellent.
It was my birthday whilst there, and I had a delicious surprise cake with candles and a gift with a card.
All in all, a lovely, five-star stay, which I’d happily repeat and highly recommend.

My friend made the difficult decision to sell her house and move into a care home, however, we feel that Chartwell House is as far from the “typical” image of a care home as you could get. Five star hotel with every luxury catered for along with the friendliest, most caring staff you could ever meet!
The rooms are large with a beautiful en-suite bathroom. Every type of care is covered, whether it’s a food preference, bathing facilities, hair, nails and foot care, there is nothing they haven’t thought of! As a regular visitor they extend the same courtesy to me, with tea, coffee and cakes offered all the time. The food is varied and very high quality. I really cannot compliment the home and staff enough! I wish everyone could experience this kind of care in their later life. It’s exceptional!

    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 78 registered maximum number of service users is 15.6, which has been reached with 34 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Diane joined Boutique Care Homes in August 2022 to launch Chartwell House Care Home. With over 30 years of experience, Diane believes that caring for and being part of another person’s life journey is an immense privilege and loves to see residents smile. High-quality compassionate care is Diane’s passion, and she is committed to supporting families throughout their care journey. Diane takes the time to know & understand each person’s values, preferences and wishes, treating every resident like family. Her own personal experiences have helped Diane to understand what families are feeling and the struggles that they are facing. This drives her to provide the best service in a person-centred way for all residents and to support them to continue to lead a fulfilled and enriched life.

Kerrie is a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager with over 15 years of leadership experience across the healthcare sector, including community-based domiciliary services, live-in care, and, most notably, care homes—where she discovered her true passion.


With a strong belief in empowering others, Kerrie specialises in building positive, inclusive team cultures that enable people to thrive. Her approach is centred on supporting each team member to deliver outstanding, personalised care, while ensuring that every resident feels genuinely valued and at home.


From her very first visit to Chartwell House, Kerrie felt an immediate connection. “I instantly found that warm and loving feeling, where everyone feels at home,” she shared—words that reflect the heart of Boutique Care Homes’ ethos.

Jude Coveney

Job Title: Admissions Manager Joined: 2022

I have worked for many years in a variety of care settings, providing me with a unique insight into the emotions and complexities of delivering and receiving care, which at some stage we may all come to know first-hand. As such investing time and energy into promoting excellence in care is therefore an investment into our own futures, whilst ensuring the very best for the people we are entrusted to look after today.


So, without question, my move to join the growing team at Chartwell House and become part of Boutique Care Homes fits with my beliefs. My mantra is to try and do at least one good deed a day, and to smile at everyone, it makes it really difficult for them to do anything other than smile back at you!


We all have great plans and aspirations for Chartwell House and I for one can’t wait to open the doors to our first residents a start making magical memories.

I have worked within office environments for the last seven years since finishing my education, with my knowledge predominately within the care industry.


In my spare time, I enjoy visiting the cinema, participating in gym activities and spending time with my family and friends.


I feel privileged to be doing this role and I am looking forward to welcoming in the residents and getting to know them and their families.


The most rewarding part of caring for me is making others smile and making a difference. I am excited to utilise my knowledge here at Chartwell House and to be a part of the growing team.
