Chartwell House

Mum was whisked into the delightful Chartwell House within 4 days. The professionalism, speed, and compassion shown to her during a difficult time. They are committed to the care of the residents, warm, caring, kind, and dedicated. My mother had experienced a period of short-term care in another home which did not go well. Chartwell has brought the mum I knew back, she feels safe, and happy and is enjoying the friendships she is making with so many of the lovely residents. The activities Chartwell for the residents are beautifully organised and great fun. A full list of daily events to join. The rooms are beautifully appointed with an open and airy feel some looking onto the beautiful, well-manicured, and colourful grounds. The menus are good and residents can ask for other dishes not on the menu. The personal care plans for the individuals are well written and followed to the last letter. The open and transparent communication between the home and the relations is exceptional.

The level of care is what makes the difference. The staff are more like friends and family. Thank you everyone for taking such good care of my mum.

Mum who has dementia has now been living in Chartwell House for 6 months and she’s a changed person. She’s happy, singing, occasionally dancing, and more engaged in life and I’m now making some lovely memories with her. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. From the moment you walk in you won’t want your loved one to live anywhere else.

Despite not wanting to go into care, Mum settled very quickly and just loves the care and support she gets in Chartwell House from all the staff.

Dad (age 91) has now been at Chartwell for four months. We looked at one other place, but Chartwell was off the scale in comparison in all respects. Being new and purpose-built, there is plenty of light and space in both the en-suite bedrooms and the multiple lounges, no steps to worry about, lovely gardens (Dad even has a private patio area), and everywhere is beautifully decorated. They offer so many activities, outings and events that residents are kept entertained and stimulated rather than just sitting in a circle watching TV, as seems to be the norm at many care homes. The staff are all lovely and as regular visitors you are welcomed at any time with drinks and homemade cakes and you can join in the many events. It really feels like an extended family home where grandchildren and even family pets can visit. I have no hesitation in recommending Chartwell to everyone. If you look around there first, I promise you won't want your loved one to live anywhere else.

I cannot say how relieved I was to find such a wonderful care home to look after my husband, who is suffering from dementia. Wonderful, caring staff, clean modern rooms, especially love that as a family we can all have a meal together with him.

I am delighted that Mum has been able to move into a stylish, high-quality care home in the centre of Thanet. Her room is a good size, bright and airy, with a door onto the garden. The staff are friendly and kind, and there are plenty of varied activities. It is very welcoming for visitors, and it has improved her well-being to know that Mum is being well cared for.

I cannot recommend this care home highly enough. Not only is it like going into a five star hotel, it is the truly caring and dedicated staff, from the top down, who make it truly exceptional. They go above and beyond. The spa bath is the highlight for my husband.

All in all, a lovely, five-star stay, which I’d happily repeat and highly recommend.

As we were going away on holiday, we wanted to ensure our near 90 year old mother would have the care and attention she so rightly deserves. We were impressed with the facilities at Chartwell House but were overwhelmed with the care and attention shown to our mother by staff there. Thank you to you all. A wonderful team!

My friend made the difficult decision to sell her house and move into a care home, however, we feel that Chartwell House is as far from the “typical” image of a care home as you could get. Five star hotel with every luxury catered for along with the friendliest, most caring staff you could ever meet! The rooms are large with a beautiful en-suite bathroom. Every type of care is covered, whether it’s a food preference, bathing facilities, hair, nails and foot care, there is nothing they haven’t thought of! As a regular visitor they extend the same courtesy to me, with tea, coffee and cakes offered all the time. The food is varied and very high quality. I really cannot compliment the home and staff enough! I wish everyone could experience this kind of care in their later life. It’s exceptional!

In my opinion, the motto of Chartwell House Care Home should be - nulli secundus (second to none).

Staff are clearly well chosen for their ability to relate to and care for residents with dementia and other needs - the care and dignity of residents are a clear priority for all staff, regardless of role. The variety of activities available and connections with schools and other providers add a dimension to the activities. The accommodation and outside areas are inviting and well-planned. Residents with dementia are kept secure by the use of coded access - there is no possibility of a fall on stairs or unaccompanied access to unsafe areas.

Wow! My aunt is flourishing since she moved into this wonderful new care home in February. She is engaging with all the fun activities and has a new lease of life, singing, dancing, creating crafts and enjoying outings. The care is first-class from all staff, whatever their role. Everything is done professionally with love and laughter. My aunt is happy and energised in a way we haven't seen for a long time. We are grateful for the ways we are included in her care plan and invited to events set out in the monthly programme. A huge thank you from us to the whole team and I know my aunt thanks you every day.

As a family, we are delighted with the care our mum receives at Chartwell House Care Home. All the staff are friendly and helpful and Mum settled in very quickly. The facilities are excellent and we are all confident that Mum is being given high-quality care with respect and dignity.

Not having to worry about Dad's welfare anymore has massively improved the quality of life of our entire family and I can't thank the staff enough.

Amazing environment. Spacious and welcoming. Staff members have all been extremely helpful, both prior to admission and then as a resident. Activities are varied and greatly enjoyed. Have not been there at mealtimes but the menus look delicious. Outside areas and gardens are looking great - looking forward to using the outside space in warmer weather. Strong feeling of one great team working well together for the benefit of the residents.
