Nothing is too much trouble. Staff are always friendly and happy to help. There is an atmosphere of care and knowledge of individual residents. We don't visit very often as we live a distance away, but once our names were known, they were remembered and used with respect. A lovely, caring environment
has been created by professional and caring staff.
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at MillcroftThank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. Mum has lived with dementia for three/four years; at home with live-in carers, she was fussy about food, obsessed with TV, becoming less confident on her feet and struggling to find words to express herself, unless there were visitors. Already her walking has improved, she is able to communicate much
more effectively and she has joined in with lots of activities. She seems to be eating well with freshly made, tasty food. She has a huge smile on her face most of the time. There is a lovely lounge/dining area, always things going on, cheerful, helpful, caring staff. Mum is only in her room to sleep, no time for afternoon naps! Visitors are encouraged at any time and can join in activities. I joined in a yoga class and saw Mum engaged and having fun. Hot drinks and cake/biscuits are always on offer. I saw several other local care homes, the warmth of the staff stood out at Millcroft Care Home, as did the thoughtfulness of the layout so residents can be visible all day (rather than being in their rooms).

When I went to see my friend he had settled in quite well and was playing with some of the residents and seemed quite content. Staff were lovely to him and to me when I visited and were always on hand. The food was lovely, at the rooms where light at with large windows and everywhere was spotless. The
garden was nice where you could walk together should you wish to, there were activities and outings to go on for the residents. This home is a lovely place in my opinion. In fact first class.
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at MillcroftThank you for such a lovely review. We are so pleased that your friend settled in so quickly and so well, and it sounds like our lovely Millcroft family have made him feel very welcome – he is definitely part of the family now. It is good to hear that he is enjoying the fabulous facilities and that you can have such lovely visits with him – please keep coming!

My mum is in for respite care for the next two weeks. I visited Mum today for the 1st time. I found the reception welcoming and warm.

The Support Carers are lovely and caring for the residents of what I have seen. There were other visitors come to see their loved ones and they praised how nice the

facilities are and the staff being so friendly from what I have witnessed myself.

Millcroft is a lovely, care home, looks like a hotel, with the latest decor. 'I would stay for vacation if they let me.'

I am content that my dear Mum will be taken care of for the time she will be here.

Thank you Millcroft, keep up the good work that you do.

A wonderful, energetic, compassionate, tuneful array of team members. Always welcoming and smiling as well as offering welcome drinks to make the visit a perfect experience. The care of my Mom has been outstanding, the attention to everyone's individual needs is met, the surroundings are immaculate,
the home is like a 5-star hotel. The food is cooked fresh each day with something for everyone. They sing in the corridors and lift everyone's spirits. Could not ask for more!
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at MillcroftThank you so much for this glowing review! My mother and father-in-law were at Millcroft for 3 months, we hoped they would be permanent residents but they wanted to go home when we returned from holiday. No doubt when finances are sorted they will return. The staff have been exceptional and their every need has been catered for. Highly recommend
this care home.
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at MillcroftWe are very sorry to have seen your in-laws leave but glad they were so happy with us and we hope to see them back with us soon. In the meantime, they should feel free to pop in for a brew and a catch up any time they like!

I am now able to relax knowing that my wife is being cared for by a wonderful, trained, professional and, most of all, caring staff. The newly designed and built Millcroft Care Home has every facility for my wife's needs. It also recognises the concern of friends and relatives and their care also extends
to help meet our needs. I have no hesitation in recommending Millcroft as the home to meet your loved one's care and well-being needs.
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at MillcroftThank you for your very kind words, it’s lovely to know our new home is making such a great impression. As a family, we are delighted with the care that our family members have been receiving at Millcroft care home. All the staff go to great efforts to provide a safe, warm and welcoming environment for the residents. This also goes for visiting families who are encouraged to visit at any time and participate
in Millcroft care home's many advertised activities. Our family members, who now call Millcroft their home, feel safe and well cared for 24 hours a day, which is huge for us as a family.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.936)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.936) out of 10 for Millcroft is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.961 for Millcroft is calculated as follows: ( (220 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 228 Ratings = 4.961
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Millcroft is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
