Greensand House Care Home - Avery Healthcare

My first impression of Greensand House when I entered to enquire about a respite stay was a bright, airy, clean and immaculately decorated place reminiscent of a 4-star hotel. A peaceful, calm, happy and friendly place to be. I found it was so much more when I finally arrived for my respite stay. I was made to feel special and I was quickly settled into a garden-view room. As staff change over time, carers pop their head around your door and introduce themselves. Call buttons are answered quickly. Anything requiring fixing in the room is dealt with quickly. There is an excellent menu choice and the chef willingly makes adjustments to individual needs. Excellent variety of activities are provided. I highly recommend this hone. I was sad to leave. I have no hesitation going if I need care again.

From arriving at Greensand House the staff are so welcoming and I always enjoy my visits (3-4 times a week). Activities are greatly improving and are fun for residents and visitors. The building is new, clean, bright, friendly and warm. Wonderful homely environment with lots of smiles.

The food was lovely, service was friendly, and everyone was very accommodating. Thank you for making our celebration easy to organise and enjoyable.

It was a very hard decision to place my mother in care as she has always been very independent. From the very first moment we visited Greensand House, we got a very good feeling, which made this difficult a little bit easier. My mum has been at Greensand since the end of January and I can not fault this care home, every member of staff is absolutely wonderful. They treat all the residents with love, care and respect in a way that I have never seen in other care homes. I can't thank all the members of staff and management enough for the care you give to my mum, you are all the nicest caring people I could ever wish to meet and take caring to another level. Thank you everyone at Greensand House.

After a long spell in hospital following a stroke it was very important for us, to get Mum in a care home that doesn't 'feel' like a care home. Greensand has a lovely luxurious feel to it and we're pleased that she now seems settled. There is a good variety of activities although it would be better if the top floor could be included in all of them. Some of the care staff are really lovely and take the time to get to know the residents to understand them so they can better meet their needs with dignity.

Overall a nice place to be.

I felt very welcomed by friendly staff. My room was spacious, comfortable and had plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space for my belongings. The Avery staff throughout the day and night were kind and helpful, and they listened to my various comments. There was an excellent chef providing delicious meals. The pharmacy staff were very good and went out of their way to make sure I had the correct drugs for each day. The outside grounds are very peaceful and I could view plants and trees from my window. I would very much recommend Greensand House Care Home for short respite care or longer term.

Very clean and tidy home.

On visiting my Mum on numerous times since she arrived in September at Greemsand's I just want to say she has settled in so well. The kindest of all the people that work there is 100%. I can go to sleep knowing Mum is safe and well cared for and happy.

My chef is a very friendly and likeable person. He cares about my diet and always tries to give me something I like, and I can digest. It's a hard task as there is so much I can't have. I've known him for over a year now and we seldom have words. I'm always wondering what my next meal will be. I can't speak highly enough of him. So many respect him. Just hope we can always keep him.

My mum has been in the care home her health is so much better. She loves the home, and food and I come here every week. The staff are very friendly, and the home has great facilities. My family and I are very happy that my mum is staying here. Also, we have had several family meals. Great food and service and going to book more.

We had a family meal with Mum to celebrate my birthday and my brother's. It was so welcoming with a beautiful meal. It has a family atmosphere and Mum is very happy here.

Overall good staff and management.

Following a fall at home and then hospitalization, my uncle stayed in Greensand for five weeks of respite care. In that time, his overall health improved enormously, and he was well on the way to returning to his old self. I was impressed by the compassionate staff, and he was sad to leave them! He seemed to enjoy the activities, make friends with other residents, and speak highly of the people who attended to him. He also particularly enjoyed the meals provided, and as he'd been experiencing significant weight loss prior to falling, it was wonderful to hear him talk so enthusiastically about the food, see a return in his appetite and put on some much-needed weight! Every staff member we encountered was warm and friendly, and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. It was very reassuring (as I live some distance away) to know he was being cared for so well.

My review is based on telephone calls and a visit to my aunt (I live in the West Midlands). When I've called, the receptionist has always been helpful and with a bright, positive tone to her voice. On visiting, my aunt looked better than before; alert, comfortable, settled and happy. Her clothes were clean and her hair had been 'done'. Elvis was on the premises! In general, the whole atmosphere was warm, bright, friendly and welcoming. All the residents I saw looked comfortable and happy. A wonderful place.

First impressions were 'what a lovely place'. The decor and warm greeting at reception was more like a hotel than a care home. My grandmother is obviously very happy and her ground room, overlooking the garden, is lovely. She proudly gave me the grand tour of the restaurant, lounge and cinema room, all beautifully furnished. She also said how good all the meals are and how caring the staff have been towards her.
