A lovely welcoming Home from Home! Fabulous, friendly staff

From the first look round staff were warm and welcoming Mum was initially booked for 2 weeks respite following our visit. She was naturally apprehensive but her being there was always her decision + we respected that. Though Mum's emotions were a rollercoaster the staff were understanding and supportive. Since respite Mum has made the decision to be a permanent resident and with staff support is settling well into her new home.

Staff are happy to help and repeatedly explain that it doesn't matter how many times you need assistance; they are happy to help. Staff appear cheerful and respectful.

Mum was only here for a short time before she passed away. She received the best care the staff always went above and beyond and were so kind and friendly. Thank you all for looking after mum.

I can't think of any negative to say about Skelton Court. The staff are so professional and friendly to all the residents. I love their attention to detail and have been very impressed with the care my mum has received. It is a difficult decision to place your loved one into a care home but I don't think I could have chosen anywhere better so thank you.

Right from the intake assessment of my dad for respite care, through to the regular check-ups I made and to his departure from Skelton Court, the staff were outstanding.

The home itself was beautifully decorated and furnished and my dad even likened it to a five star hotel. The staff were always welcoming and I noted that there were very strong safeguards in place for medication, important document storage and valuables. My dad said the place was 'top notch' which is praise indeed. The respite care was fabulous and I called regularly to check in on my dad and was always made to feel welcome and that I was no bother . The staff also were always up to date on his mood, food intake and appointments. Our key carer and friend of the family, who visited him several times during his stay, said 'it was the best care home she had ever seen'. Thank you for taking such good care of my dad and also note that he said if he ever needed to have respite again, Skelton Court would be his choice.

Skelton Court is a beautiful care home. All of the staff and carers are wonderful, friendly and helpful. Couldn't really ask for more. Mum has been happily settled here since last Easter. It took a couple of weeks for her to settle which is what we expected. She absolutely loves living there now. She has made some lovely friends. She now calls her room her home. We as a family are so happy to know she is getting 24/7 care and attention. Well done Skelton Court.

Always a lovely, friendly atmosphere. I can relax in the knowledge that my Aunt is well looked after.

Mother in law was brought in for respite care due to a fall and daughter being admitted to hosp. The staff were very caring to family and mother in law. The home is excellent in all areas. Mother in law has said how caring the staff are and how good the home is and meals are. She has contracted a bad cough and the doctor was contacted straight away and medication administered imm. The cough improved. We cannot rate the care and all aspects of the home high enough. Top marks.

My mum enjoys her stays and I can feel happy knowing she is well looked after. ]The home itself is beautifully furnished, modern and clean. The only criticism would be the lovely outdoor area could do with a bit of tender love and care outdoor furniture could do with sprucing up.

From arrival in reception to leaving the staff are so welcoming, and residents are usually busy on activities with the carer. On afternoons they have entertainers coming into the home, as well as monthly tea dances. Music and dance with staff bring these residents back to memories and so much joy you see in their eyes. I enjoy my weekly visit to Skelton Court very much and feel I'm made welcome as a friend as well as a visitor. Always recommend Skelton Court to family and friends.

My mum has resided at Skelton Court for just over 1 month. The building and her room are just lovely. The building is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The most outstanding feature is the staff. They are all professional and genuinely caring. It really feels like a home. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Thank you Skelton Court for looking after my mum so well.

My friend is extremely happy living here. The staff are wonderful and he loves them all, foods very good and the care is very good. My friend is a very happy man.

My wife came into Skelton Court in 2023/24 for respite. This was an excellent experience for her with first class care and excellent food and accommodation. This enables me to get some well earned rest from being a full time carer. Skelton Court became my second home because it was only 500 metres away from my home and I could visit her at anytime. I used to have meals with her and spent hours with her.

My wife has been a resident since 3rd August 2023. At the end of May her health deteriorated and was transferred to hospital for a period of six days. My son and I were told by a consultant my wifes life was nearing the end and after consultation she returned to Skelton Court where the staff showed their caring, loving and exceptionally understanding manner.

Home is well maintained and clean. Majority of staff are caring and polite who show genuine caring feelings for the residents. Food is well presented and varied. If there is something that they know my dad is not keen on they will find an alternative option for him. The big downside to his care is the ridiculous amount we have to pay for his care, when somebody who is not self funded gets the same care for a far lower price being paid for by the local authority i.e £1250 s.fund - £850 LA Funded approx. This year his costs increased by 8% up from £1166 p/w to £1250!! His state pension only increased by 4% ie £10 per month.

The care home is very secure and clean in the main area and residents' rooms. The cleaners are always busy when you visit. Meals look amazing and nutritious, always extra nibbles like cakes, crisps for residents to get if they're still hungry and regular drinks. Background music is nice, staff are amazing, very caring and pleasant and nothing is too much for them to do.

During his final few days, he was treated with the upmost care, courtesy and dignity from everyone involved.
