My dad has been a resident in the care home for nearly a year. He has settled in well and both myself and my sister are very happy with the care he has received. We are always informed by staff if there have been any issues/incidents involving our dad. If we have asked for anything to be done for dad, the staff have usually acted straight away. The staff are all very kind and caring to all the residents. The activities they have are amazing. My dad seems to love them. The home is very clean, the laundry is clean and fresh, the food is wonderful. It is a very warm and welcoming home.

We shopped around to see what other homes had to offer Mum regarding support etc. We decided that Skelton Court was the best by far. Mum has been here for over 12 months now, keep up the good work!

The staff are invariably pleasant and helpful and the cleanliness and attractiveness in the building are exemplary. In addition, the staff are attentive to the needs and care of the residents and 'Tilly' the dog is a darling.

I have lived in Skelton Court since the 4th of April 2024. I arrived ill, tired and frightened. Living on my own was becoming very difficult. here I feel safe, secure and looked after. The place is lovely, more like a luxury hotel than a care home. The staff are caring and cannot do enough for you. It's a home-from-home. when friends brought food for lunch, the staff set a table with serviettes and wine glasses in the garden, another time my daughter stayed for lunch. Really, I can't praise Skelton Court enough. I'm as happy as I could be, given my circumstances. this place must beat all the others.

Skelton Court Care Home is excellent. All of the staff are amazing. The care they give is outstanding. Always friendly and attentive. My dad has been there for a short time but over this time he has settled in very well. Thank you so much to the Skelton Court management team and everyone who has looked after my dad.

From what I've seen this is the best home around. Friendly staff, very clean. I'm told the food is very good. The rooms and communal areas are very nice, good decor. Maybe more activities, depending on what different residents want, as it can be boring.

Reply from Jayne Curry, District Manager at Skelton Court

Thank you for your kind feedback we are always happy to hear from our valued residents and families. All activities that take place at Skelton Court are organised with the residents at our resident meetings. We always welcome any ideas for activities and outings and will do our best to make those happen. If you wish to discuss anything with me, I am happy to do so at a mutually convenient time.

There are no activities for my husband. Promises were made to take him for his paper and take him for a walk. This rarely happened. Even though he has dementia he can hold a sensible conversation and attempts the Times crossword each day. He is mobile with a stick. He was well looked after and the food was wonderful. We enjoyed the monthly singing group.

Reply from Jayne Curry, District Manager at Skelton Court

Thank you for taking the time to review Skelton Court, your feedback is very important to us. We are really pleased that your husband enjoyed the food and that you both enjoyed the singing group and will pass on your comments to the relevant teams. We are sorry to hear we haven’t met expectations...

Skelton Court is a lovely place to live, I only went there for two weeks of respite but have fell in love with the place, the staff are all kind and caring. The food is exceptional, I am on a wheat and dairy-free diet and the cooks and carers all provided so well for me. Lovely gardens and lounges, always provided entertainment and many cups of tea, all in all, a pleasant stay.

Facility matches the impressive website presence. New well-designed, homely environment, including small lounges, views of the sea and garden. Staff very attentive and welcoming. Our mother, despite her dementia, has settled well and has told us she was pleased with her "choice of flat". On each visit, we were offered refreshments. Despite living on the other side of the world, we feel pleased that Mum has the best home for her care.

My father came to the home and was welcomed by the happy, thoughtful staff. The carers made sure that my dad's needs were tended to in all areas. It is a bright and cheerful home where all staff greet us, even the dogs. I live in Australia and will be returning there soon, so I am so grateful that he is in a beautiful home with carers and staff that really care. I would recommend this care home to anyone who is considering a place for their loved ones. A safe, cheerful and clean home. Thank you.

As I was Dad's carer, it was a very hard decision to put my dad into care. From the moment I walked into Skelton Court, I knew it was the right place for him. The home has a friendly, homely feel. Staff are professional, but at the same time, caring and loving. Nothing is too much trouble. My dad has dementia, and since being in the home, he has become more engaging - chatting, laughing and dancing... not to mention the singing! I can rest easy knowing how well cared for my dad is. It is the beginning of a new life chapter, and I can now become my dad's daughter, once again, instead of his carer. Highly recommend this lovely home.

My mother-in-law was admitted to Skelton Court for respite. I cannot fault in any way the care my mother-in-law has received. The home itself is five-star, and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking first-class care in all areas.

I have been aware of the group's homes for 50 years. I have spent time in other care homes, but none compare to Skelton Court and the care home services. I became aware recently of the opening of Skelton Court and applied, and to my delight, I found out I would become the first-ever resident. I am now in my third week, and the whole experience has been so professional. The home is just like a first-class hotel. The staff and management have been so helpful and friendly, and no tasks are too big or small for them. The food and menus have been excellent, with a great range of choices to choose from. All facilities are first class, and I am very happy to be here and to be safely looked after by the excellent Skelton Court team and management.

Tony GriffithsJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2024

Hello, my name is Tony, and I am relatively new to the Anchor family, but I have worked within the social care field for over 35 years. My journey to Anchor Court began in my early 20s when I became a Senior carer in a small residential home in Middlesbrough. It’s been an incredible journey to get here, which has rewarded me with the skills I need to provide an environment where staff are able to deliver personalised care to residents, knowing that the resident is at the centre of everything we do.

I’m excited about the rest of my journey with Anchor and being Skelton Court's Registered Manager. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you to find the right care to meet your needs. I would like to invite you to pop in for a chat and a look around the home.

Ahoj, (Hi) my name is Rasto I was born Slovakia and came to the UK in 2001. My first role within care was a Housekeeper role in residential care home. I migrated over to care becoming a care assistant rising to the role of Team Leader. I then became a Deputy Manager approximately 9 years ago.

I have worked for Anchor for approximately 8 years, the last 3 years as the Deputy Manager here at Skelton Court care home.

I really enjoy my role at at Skelton Court, especially supporting the residents and their families.

When not at work I spend my time out walking in the countryside, gardening and exploring the world.

My name is Lynne and I have worked for Anchor for 8 years, but I have worked in Health and Social Care sector for over 20 years, starting as a Care Assistant, working my way up the career ladder.

I am Deputy Manager and have worked at Skelton Court since it opened in March 2023. I am very passionate about care and believe everyone should be treated with dignity and respect and receive a good quality of life.

I feel very privileged to be working at this beautiful home and working alongside a wonderful team. I look forward to taking the home forward to achieve its full potential and look forward to meeting new people.

Elvisa
Elvisa Job Title:Administrator

Hello, my name is Elvisa and I am the Administrator at Skelton Court Care Home with over 15 years’ experience in the care sector.

I have worked for Anchor for over 10 years and for the last two years I have enjoyed working at Skelton Court where we have a great team and wonderful residents. Within my role, I get to meet new people and I am passionate about supporting people living in a residential setting.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending my time with my grandchildren and socialising with my friends and family.

A quirky fact about myself, as you can see, my name is very unusual, and I have my parents to thank for that. They were huge fans of Elvis Presley so decided to call me Elvisa after him.
