Overall Experience

My mother has been in Brize Meadow Lodge for nearly three months having respite care, prior to us moving her to a retirement apartment. We have been very happy with most aspects of the care home and even my mother, who has always been hard to please, has been unable to find fault. The only area for improvement would be communication. Acknowledgement of emails would have been reassuring and there were times I should have been informed when something had arisen. Would have liked regular care updates and Mum would have appreciated more organised trips from the care home.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are so pleased your mother enjoyed her respite stay with us at Brize Meadow Lodge and we appreciate her feedback about the trips out which we will be sharing with our team.

I was extremely impressed by this care home on both occasions that I visited a friend who is a resident there. It is a very welcoming environment in terms of the very pleasant decor and furniture. The level of quality of care was excellent as far as I could see. I was amazed that meals are served to visitors at no extra charge - and they are very good too!

Brize Meadow has the feel of a four-star hotel. I knew this was the place for Mum the moment I walked through the doors. There is always a friendly welcome, and the staff and carers could not be more kind and helpful. Mum has said how happy she is there.
I have been able to stay for lunch with Mum on occasion, and I know some family visits when tea and cake are being served!

There is something happening most days which Mum enjoys, and I am enjoying seeing my mum again as a daughter and not her carer any more.

From pre-respite to the present day, they could not do enough. In fact, have gone above and beyond. The only reason they haven't got 100%, is I can't believe any place could be!

Very pleased with how Dad is looked after, his care is amazing. Perhaps a little more to do is the only thing I could comment on.

Having had a distressing experience with a care home where my husband (who has Alzheimer's disease) stayed for respite care, I was reluctant to place him in residential care. My opinion changed when, on the recommendation of one of my husband's carers, my daughter and I visited Brize Meadow Lodge. As soon as we arrived, we had good vibes about it. After one week of respite care, we could see that he was being well looked after. He has now been a permanent resident for 3 months. We are very pleased we made this decision, as he looks well and content in their care.

We just wanted to say a big thank you to the managers and all the other staff who have supported our Grandma to settle into lovely Brize Meadow Lodge recently. We have had a few visits to Brize Meadow to meet with management prior to her moving there and the support and patience they offered really was second to none. Always so welcoming, taking time to listen and offering advice as we needed it. It has been a big step to get to where we are today and we couldn’t have done it without this support. As a family, we are comforted that you will be taking the best care of her, in the beautiful, welcoming home and lovely staff she is surrounded by. She has commented herself on how great and lovely all the staff have been and that nothing is too much trouble. Thank you!

Kind Regards.

Thank you for sending such a lovely review. As a relatively new home, it is lovely to hear that we have hit the ground running and have such a strong personality as a home, with our wonderful team being such a credit to us. Can't fault anything about the care home and staff. They are all so friendly and caring. The home is always welcoming and clean - smelling lovely, unlike other homes we visited. Mum is looked after really well and is great at coping with her dementia outbursts.

I would like to thank all the care team at Brize Meadow Lodge Care Home. Mum has now passed (in hospital on 29/10/2023) however prior to her visit, she was supported and cared for by your team. She enjoyed her puzzle and talked of going home to 'Brize'. Some really five-star treatment for Mum (my brother's words).

Thank you on behalf of all our family.

Right from the beginning the level of care given to both my grandad and to us as a family, made a difficult decision a lot easier.
The home is immaculate, the staff are fantastic. My grandad has settled in so well and we are very well looked after too when we visit.
The food is amazing, activities are plentiful. Laundry is done for them, doctors will visit, hairdresser on site, grounds are well maintained.

I cannot thank the amazing team enough for what they do.

Thank you for sending a review, we are so pleased your Grandad has settled well. We know it can be difficult when a loved one moves to a care home so we will always do anything we can to make this a smooth transition for both the resident and their family. Once you see how much we can offer it makes the decision a lot easier!

My Father in Law moved into Brize Meadow Lodge in June following a stay in hospital. He was previously living alone, but it was determined that it would no longer be suitable for his needs. As a family we looked at few care homes and decided that Brize Meadow Lodge would fit his needs perfectly as well as being very close to his family.
Original impressions of the care home are first class, as well as the warm, caring and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble.

When my Father in Law moved in the staff couldn’t have done any more to make him feel welcome. As a family, we were also made extremely welcome and have been 100% involved in his care. The accommodation is stunning. My Father in Law is extremely comfortable. All his needs are being met, beyond expectations. The catering is excellent, visitors are able to dine with the residents which is lovely. Regular trips out are arranged, together with activities within the home. As a family we would 100% recommend Brize Meadow Lodge.

Thank you for this wonderful review. We know it can be difficult finding a care home that is the perfect fit, and we are always over the moon when that care home is us! Although we are a relatively new care home we are very much building a family which includes not only your father-in-law but also yourselves - you will always be welcome to join us.

The care home seems to be well organised; they have many activities for the residents, and the food is excellent. The resident's rooms are clean and tidy at all times, and their laundry is done for them. They have their own cinema so they can watch films.

Mum has been a resident of Brize Meadow Lodge since April. She has settled in really well. All staff have been extremely welcoming and attentive. It was a difficult decision for her and us, moving from her own house to Brize Meadow and she is very happy and was so very quickly, to call this her home now. She is delighted with her room, very homely, especially as we have been able to bring some of her furnishings and outdoor plants here. She is so much more engaged, her memory seems to have improved and she is walking much better as there is plenty of space. We think with the continued interaction, both with other residents and staff, she will continue to thrive. This was absolutely the best decision!

Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at Brize Meadow Lodge

This is so lovely to read. We know that the social interaction and care that we offer can often work wonders in helping our residents to thrive and it’s wonderful to know you can see this in your mum. It is absolutely your mum’s home, not just a care home and those personal touches make all the difference.
