Having spent 8 days in hospital I was taken to the Maples for nursing care. In every respect the staff were caring, nothing was too much trouble, and my personal needs were always top of the agenda.

I remain extremely grateful to everyone for their patience and care. Thank you.

I would like to share a heartfelt thank you and positive review for The Maples Care Home.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff truly care about the residents and go above and beyond in their roles. The kindness, patience, and respect shown every day does not go unnoticed.
I would especially like to highlight the staff's quick action when dealing with a recent medical concern. Although it was not an emergency, it was handled promptly, professionally, and with great care. This gave us real reassurance and showed how attentive and proactive the team are when it comes to residents' health and wellbeing.
The environment feels warm, welcoming, and supportive, which brings comfort not only to residents but also to their families. It's reassuring to know our loved ones are in such capable and compassionate hands.

Thank you to all the staff for your continued hard work and dedication-it truly makes a difference and is deeply appreciated.

The staff are caring and meet individual needs. If there are any medical concerns staff are quick to act and the nurses send photos and contact specialist teams for treatment. Excellent service - quick and efficient. The various activities for residents have improved greatly. My mother particularly enjoys the weekly craft session and she looks forward to it. Management care, listen and act upon concerns.

Outstanding Amenities. Management were wonderful and very friendly. Beautiful welcoming entrance and friendly staff on reception. Care support for my sister was excellent. Maureen's room was lovely , spotlessly clean and everything she needed. The staff were amazing, nothing was to much trouble.
The facilities were excellent and facilities for visitors. Could not fault anything, it's the best nursing home I have encountered.

I applaud all the staff in the role they do, making it a very pleasant place for respite or long term residents.

My husband received care at The Maples as rehabilitation following a stroke. Although he didn't see the physiotherapist as often as I thought he would, the staff were very good at mobilazation. My only criticism would be that I found the uniforms very confusing a board showing who uniforms were assigned to would be useful.

Reply from Samantha Crawley, CEO at The Maples

Thank you so much Jan for your feedback and we truly appreciate your comments regarding the team. With regard the uniforms we should have given you more detail about this and we will work on ensuring people get a clear picture of why the uniforms are colourful and non-role specific. Thank you again S

My mother has been a resident for a number of months and requires a lot of support. The manger has been approachable and supportive, and all the staff, from reception to house keepers, carers & nurses have been helpful, caring & respectful with my mother & our family. I was always worried about my mother being in a care home, but not at The Maples, I feel she is in a safe & caring environment. It has a really positive & proactive atmosphere.

I was very pleased that a place was found for my Aunt on discharge from hospital. I have been very happy for the care given to her up to and including her death. The staff have always been welcoming and cheerful. They have answered questions asked and found solutions to issues and problems presented. I would recommend the 2nd floor placement to anybody who asked me re care for a loved one.

Mum has been in the Maple since October 2024 and the care she has received has been second to none. The staff and carers have been excellent and we could not wish for a better care home for mum to be in, They are caring, thoughtful of mums needs and keep us as a family well updated.
The care team have been amazing with caring for mum even when she is not the easiest to care for due to her unpredictability.

I would highly recommend this care home if you want reassurance that you know your family member will be cared for unconditionally the team treat the residents like one of there own family, this is the place for your loved ones.

Mom admitted from hospital - room lovely. No care plan discussed with family. Mom complained food was often cold and unedible. Often left uncomfortable as personal not carried out and then would need full change. Staff often turned buzzer off without answering query and would return some time later. Very understaffed on daily basis. Staff doing their best. Mom was discharged with hematoma - resulting in re-admission to hospital.

My mum stayed at The Maples for three weeks in order to receive rehabilitation after four weeks in hospital. All members of staff were excellent - the receptionists, carers and in house physiotherapist were all welcoming, helpful and supportive of mum and her visitors. Communication with us was extremely good. Mum was very comfortable there and we felt she was very safe during her stay there.
