Mum has become a new woman since moving into Ayton House, happy, smiling, giggling even. She loves it, especially the way the staff include her in daily chores which makes her feel useful. We are very impressed with the number and range of activities Mum gets involved with and with the level of care
and attention paid to her. It is early days as we try to convert 'Respite' into a permanent residency but we could not have found a nicer place for her to go at short notice and we hope she is able to stay for a long time.

We have been nothing short of completely impressed with everything and everyone at Ayton House, it is such a warm and friendly home, with such hospitality and kindness. It is always a hard decision to move a family member into a care home but this transition has been so easy.

Everyone has been very kind and helpful. The overall ambience of Ayton House is warm and welcoming. The decor, facilities and outdoor spaces have been thought through. Mum seems to be settling in well and enjoying the daily activities.

My mother moved to Ayton House as it opened. We chose it for its position, facilities and positive feedback on meeting the staff. We have not been disappointed. The rooms and facilities are excellent. Great food - my mother is not easy to please and she has had a personalised menu. Most importantly
there is a widespread feeling of professionalism with very friendly staff. My Mother has already perked up with the attention she has received and the social/contact events that she has attended and she is obviously already stimulated. A great start to her new home where she feels safe.

Joel Fronda Ignacio

Job Title: Home Manager

I believe it’s a privilege to care for older people, and I’m determined to deliver the very best for them as the Home Manager of Ayton House. I have a unique background – as well as being a Registered General Nurse, I also have degrees in Accounting and Finance.


Being a Home Manager draws on all the skills and training I’ve achieved over my career. You need to have an eye for the financial side while also being committed to delivering first-class care. People management skills are also essential, and a level of creativity is needed too. It’s a demanding job, but I relish every day – especially any time I can spend chatting to residents and learning about their lives and experiences. It’s important that all our team members speak to residents regularly to hear how we can improve the care and service we provide.


I joined Care UK because I wanted to be part of a prestigious organisation focused on delivering outstanding care, and Care UK leads the field in this respect. I worked as the Home Manager of Care UK’s Ancasta Grove, based in Southampton, from 2022, and I’m extremely proud of the work the team does for residents there. I now look forward to the opportunity to continue this great work at Ayton House in the months and years ahead.
