Mum has been at Egerton Manor for over a year now and talks of it as "home". The facilities are lovely and certainly not institutional. Her nursing needs and personal care are being very well met and she especially loves her visits to the in-house hairdresser! The staff are approachable and caring; always ready to discuss Mum's needs and preferences and really seem to understand her. They organised a lovely tea party for her recent birthday and it was a pleasure to see the camaraderie between staff and residents. The manager has a great open-door policy. She is readily on hand to talk things through, offer advice and reassurance and I appreciate her immediate responsiveness to any e mails and calls. Taking on the difficulties and stresses of ageing is not easy but I appreciate all that Egerton Manor does to help my Mum manage and look after her. I never like saying goodbye at the end of my visits but am reassured that I am leaving Mum in caring and professional hands. Thank you.

I am always met by the pleasant ambience of Egerton Manor whenever I visit. The staff of course provided this and never seems too tired to give assistance. They at the same time provide caring in a creative atmosphere which would be hard to replicate. The residents are obviously happy to spend the autumn of their years here which is everything.

A beautiful home with professional and caring staff. Facilities are excellent and, whilst dad's mobility has declined, the staff ensure he can still be part of the activities in the lounge or dining room. Food is always of a very high standard and the staff are always encouraging of close family joining dad for lunch or dinner. I wouldn't hesitate to advising the home to anybody looking for a home for their loved ones.

From the first meeting with the manager to mum moving in, all the staff have been lovely, pleasant, efficient and extremely helpful in bringing in mum's life belongings and trying to get her settled into a new way of life. The facilities are brand new and very tasteful, mum loves the underfloor heating - no drafts! Overall an amazing bunch of staff all there to make mum's life a little easier.

Absolutely fantastic, you wouldn't want anymore, all my mother can keep saying is "It's beautiful" (and she's right). I actually look so much forward to seeing Mum, not only that she is my mother but it's like we are having a ladies' (coffee) drink out (like old times). The staff are so caring and very approachable as is the management too. Mum is kept so clean and all her needs are attended to. The food well, it's so fantastic, if she doesn't like what's on the menu they will make what she wants (and they do), like a first-class hotel giving a very homely atmosphere, I could live there myself, anytime.

Dad has not been able to take advantage of the activities as yes. He has little to no feeling in his finger hence I am filling out this on his behalf. Dad has not had long in this care home however the care he is receiving so far has been great. He has been treated respectfully the staff are busy despite this have found the time to chat with him and make him feel welcome. Very happy so far.

In May 2024 we had an urgent need to find a care home for my father who, at the age of 96, had been living independently until March 2024. After looking at a large number of established care homes we felt that Egerton Manor was the most suited due to its location (near my father's house and friends) and the fact that it was new - the facilities are superb. In its previous guise as a quality restaurant and hotel, we had eaten here many times as a family so had many good memories for us.
We were also encouraged by the friendliness and caring nature of the staff. My father was admitted on 1st May 2024 and loves it. On our regular visits, we find all of the staff helpful, caring, professional and very approachable. I can't remember the names of all of the staff but I have found the nurses to be really helpful and communicative.

We (my family) and my father's friends are really pleased that we found what we believe to be an excellent location for my father's remaining years.

During the eight months that Dad was a resident at Egerton Manor until his death, we felt that he received excellent care and was treated with dignity. He built up good relationships with the staff. Facilities were clean and well-kept. There were one or two occasions where the staffing did not appear to be adequate in that the five-minute on-call waiting time that we were assured of was exceeded. There were also some issues with communication between the care home and us as relatives.

Egerton Manor has excellent staff who are caring and 100% committed to the residents. I would recommend this care home and I feel it is 5-star. I come away feeling confident that my mum is getting the best care.

I found the staff all very bright, cheerful and very attentive with my mum. Mum is bedridden at the moment, but gets lots of bright visits from the staff, making sure she is comfortable and trying to persuade her to eat more. Her medical care is very attentive and very informative to me. All-round, I find the care for my mother here is absolutely first class. Thank you to everyone.

Thank you for your very kind words. It's was an absolute pleasure caring for your mum. We also enjoy your visits to the home and enjoy your sense of humour and banter. I will forward your kind words on to the staff at Egerton Manor. All the staff work extremely hard as a team to ensure that everyone has the person-centred care that they need and deserve. Thank you.

The staff are so welcoming to me and ultra caring for mum's needs. The management of the home are always approachable and pleasant to interact with. My mum loves it here and feels very much at home. The food is great and whilst my mum doesn’t take part in most of the activities, it’s clear to see, from other residents, that they are stimulated and entertained every day. A 5-star rating from me!

After viewing a number of care homes I was told about Egerton Manor Care Centre and visited the next day. I was immediately impressed with the friendliness of the staff the cleanliness and the quality of the surroundings. Being newly opened meant there was a space for mum and she has since moved in. After just 6 days I sensed she was happy, being well looked after and eating very well. The staff are attentive and the residents seem very satisfied. We as a family are very happy with Egerton House and feel relieved that mum is being well cared for.

Donna Job Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2026

Hi, I’m Donna, the Manager here at Egerton Manor. I have worked in social care for 37 years, starting my career on a YTS scheme before progressing to a general manager in August 2005.

I am incredibly passionate about what I do and strive for excellence. This allows me to create an inclusive, caring, safe environment for people to live. The well-being and happiness of our residents are at the heart of everything I do, and my goal every day is to provide high-quality care and make a positive difference to the people I support.

I am a proud wife and mother to 3 children and 3 grandchildren, and I love my two doggies, Beau and Teddy!

Katie
Katie Job Title:Head of CareJoined: 2023

I have worked at Egerton Manor since March 2024 and have recently been appointed as the Head of Care here at the home. I personally find that working with the elderly is an immensely rewarding career, and I love the fact that I am making a difference in the lives of the residents who live here in the home. I have always lived in Bolton and was brought up in the Harwood area. I still live there now, along with my husband Mark, twelve-year-old twins Ava & Daniel, and our miniature sausage dog, Martha. Previous to starting work at Egerton Manor, I held a Deputy Home Manager position for a large care organisation in Bolton. I have worked within the Health and social care sector for over 25 years in various roles, and by doing so, I feel that I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience which I can cascade to our members of staff.

In my spare time (Not that I have a lot of it!!), I enjoy watching my son Daniel play Rugby and Football, and my little girl Ava competes in Street dance competitions all over the country. I have recently been lucky enough to visit Greece twice. My first holiday was to Rhodes, which I visited with my husband and the twins, and then, most recently, I visited the beautiful island of Kefalonia with my mum. My hobbies include walking, gardening, travelling and socialising with my family and friends.
