Absolutely fantastic, you wouldn't want anymore, all my mother can keep saying is "It's beautiful" (and she's right). I actually look so much forward to seeing Mum, not only that she is my mother but it's like we are having a ladies' (coffee) drink out (like old times). The staff are so caring and very
approachable as is the management too. Mum is kept so clean and all her needs are attended to. The food well, it's so fantastic, if she doesn't like what's on the menu they will make what she wants (and they do), like a first-class hotel giving a very homely atmosphere, I could live there myself, anytime.

Dad has not been able to take advantage of the activities as yes. He has little to no feeling in his finger hence I am filling out this on his behalf. Dad has not had long in this care home however the care he is receiving so far has been great. He has been treated respectfully the staff are busy despite
this have found the time to chat with him and make him feel welcome. Very happy so far.

In May 2024 we had an urgent need to find a care home for my father who, at the age of 96, had been living independently until March 2024. After looking at a large number of established care homes we felt that Egerton Manor was the most suited due to its location (near my father's house and friends)
and the fact that it was new - the facilities are superb. In its previous guise as a quality restaurant and hotel, we had eaten here many times as a family so had many good memories for us.
We were also encouraged by the friendliness and caring nature of the staff. My father was admitted on 1st May 2024 and loves it. On our regular visits, we find all of the staff helpful, caring, professional and very approachable. I can't remember the names of all of the staff but I have found the nurses to be really helpful and communicative.
We (my family) and my father's friends are really pleased that we found what we believe to be an excellent location for my father's remaining years.
Reply from Paula Clark, Home Manager at Egerton Manor Care HomeThank you so much for your beautiful review of Egerton Manor. I will share your feedback with all of our team here on behalf of you, your family and of course your lovely Father. We look forward to seeing you soon.

During the eight months that Dad was a resident at Egerton Manor until his death, we felt that he received excellent care and was treated with dignity. He built up good relationships with the staff. Facilities were clean and well-kept. There were one or two occasions where the staffing did not appear
to be adequate in that the five-minute on-call waiting time that we were assured of was exceeded. There were also some issues with communication between the care home and us as relatives.

Egerton Manor has excellent staff who are caring and 100% committed to the residents. I would recommend this care home and I feel it is 5-star. I come away feeling confident that my mum is getting the best care.

I found the staff all very bright, cheerful and very attentive with my mum. Mum is bedridden at the moment, but gets lots of bright visits from the staff, making sure she is comfortable and trying to persuade her to eat more. Her medical care is very attentive and very informative to me. All-round,
I find the care for my mother here is absolutely first class. Thank you to everyone.
Reply from Martha Hamill, Home Manager at Egerton Manor Care HomeThank you for your very kind words. It's was an absolute pleasure caring for your mum. We also enjoy your visits to the home and enjoy your sense of humour and banter. I will forward your kind words on to the staff at Egerton Manor. All the staff work extremely hard as a team to ensure that everyone has the person-centred care that they need and deserve. Thank you.

The staff are so welcoming to me and ultra caring for mum's needs. The management of the home are always approachable and pleasant to interact with. My mum loves it here and feels very much at home. The food is great and whilst my mum doesn’t take part in most of the activities, it’s clear to see, from
other residents, that they are stimulated and entertained every day. A 5-star rating from me!

After viewing a number of care homes I was told about Egerton Manor Care Centre and visited the next day. I was immediately impressed with the friendliness of the staff the cleanliness and the quality of the surroundings. Being newly opened meant there was a space for mum and she has since moved in.
After just 6 days I sensed she was happy, being well looked after and eating very well. The staff are attentive and the residents seem very satisfied. We as a family are very happy with Egerton House and feel relieved that mum is being well cared for.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.812)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.812) out of 10 for Egerton Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.812 for Egerton Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (254 Excellents x 5) + (34 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 298 Ratings = 4.812
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Egerton Manor Care Home is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hi, I’m Donna, the Manager here at Egerton Manor. I have worked in social care for 37 years, starting my career on a YTS scheme before progressing to a general manager in August 2005.

I am incredibly passionate about what I do and strive for excellence. This allows me to create an inclusive, caring, safe environment for people to live. The well-being and happiness of our residents are at the heart of everything I do, and my goal every day is to provide high-quality care and make a positive difference to the people I support.

I am a proud wife and mother to 3 children and 3 grandchildren, and I love my two doggies, Beau and Teddy!

Job Title: Head of Care Joined: 2023

I have worked at Egerton Manor since March 2024 and have recently been appointed as the Head of Care here at the home. I personally find that working with the elderly is an immensely rewarding career, and I love the fact that I am making a difference in the lives of the residents who live here in the home. I have always lived in Bolton and was brought up in the Harwood area. I still live there now, along with my husband Mark, twelve-year-old twins Ava & Daniel, and our miniature sausage dog, Martha. Previous to starting work at Egerton Manor, I held a Deputy Home Manager position for a large care organisation in Bolton. I have worked within the Health and social care sector for over 25 years in various roles, and by doing so, I feel that I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience which I can cascade to our members of staff.

In my spare time (Not that I have a lot of it!!), I enjoy watching my son Daniel play Rugby and Football, and my little girl Ava competes in Street dance competitions all over the country. I have recently been lucky enough to visit Greece twice. My first holiday was to Rhodes, which I visited with my husband and the twins, and then, most recently, I visited the beautiful island of Kefalonia with my mum. My hobbies include walking, gardening, travelling and socialising with my family and friends.
