After viewing a number of care homes I was told about Egerton Manor Care Centre and visited the next day. I was immediately impressed with the friendliness of the staff the cleanliness and the quality of the surroundings. Being newly opened meant there was a space for mum and she has since moved in.
After just 6 days I sensed she was happy, being well looked after and eating very well. The staff are attentive and the residents seem very satisfied. We as a family are very happy with Egerton House and feel relieved that mum is being well cared for.

Joanne Morton

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

Hello, my name is Joanne Morton, and I’m incredibly proud to have recently been promoted to Home Manager here at Egerton Manor Care Centre in Bolton as of July 2025. I’ve been with Egerton Manor since it first opened in November 2023, initially joining as Deputy Manager. My journey with New Care began just a few months before that, in August 2023, and it’s been such a rewarding experience so far. I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 2011, but my career in care began much earlier—I spent 15 years working as a care assistant supporting older people. Around three years ago, I made the decision to leave the NHS and return to community care, where I’ve always felt most at home. I have a real passion for working with the elderly; I find every day both rewarding and educational. I especially love hearing the stories our residents share—some of them I could listen to all day! Outside of work, I’m a mum to two wonderful daughters, one studying at university and the other at college. They keep me busy, as do my hobbies—I enjoy a good jigsaw puzzle, long walks with my husband, and spending time with my two sisters (especially when a shopping trip is involved!). I’m really looking forward to continuing to grow with New Care and hope to spend many years here, both developing in my role and continuing to support the residents, families, and the amazing team at Egerton Manor.

Job Title: Head of Care Joined: 2023

I have worked at Egerton Manor since March 2024 and have recently been appointed the position of The Head of Care here at the home. I personally find that working with the elderly is an immensely rewarding career, and I love the fact that I am making a difference in the resident's lives that live here in the home. I have always lived in Bolton and was brought up in the Harwood area. I still live there now along with my husband Mark, twelve-year-old twins Ava & Daniel, and our miniature sausage dog, Martha. Previous to starting work at Egerton Manor, I held a Deputy Home Manager position for a large care organisation in Bolton. I have worked within the Health and social care sector for over 25 years in various roles, and by doing so, I feel that I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience which I can cascade to our members of staff.


In my spare time (Not that I have a lot of it!!), I enjoy watching my son Daniel play Rugby and Football, and my little girl Ava competes in Street dance competitions all over the country. I have recently been lucky enough to visit Greece twice. My first holiday was to Rhodes which I visited with my husband and the twins, and then most recently I visited the beautiful island of Kefalonia with my mum. My hobbies include walking, gardening, travelling and socialising with my family and friends.

I’m thrilled to be your new Wellbeing Coordinator here at Egerton Manor Care Centre. A little about me: I was born in the beautiful country of Sierra Leone, located on the west coast of Africa, but I grew up in the vibrant city of Frankfurt, Germany. Throughout my career, I’ve had the pleasure of working in a variety of fields, from coordinating activities to working directly in healthcare. I’ve been a domiciliary carer, a live-in carer, and a support worker. And, oh yes, I also studied Biomedical Sciences at Coventry University and spent a few years working in a lab as a Chemical Analyst—but I quickly realized I missed the personal connection of caring for others. So here I am, back where I belong!


In my spare time, I absolutely love travelling and exploring new places. There's something about discovering different cultures that excites me!


I’m also passionate about learning new languages- it's like unlocking new doors to understanding the world. I’m a big fan of music, cooking, sports, and adventures, and I can’t wait to bring all of that energy into our activities here. My goal is simple: to make sure we’re all having fun! Life in a care home shouldn’t be boring—everyone deserves a little joy, and that’s exactly what I’m here to help create. I’m all ears for your suggestions, so don’t be shy—if there’s an activity you’re excited about or something new you’d like to try, just let me know. I’m here to make it happen!
