The care home is still settling down following an opening just over a year ago. The dedication and care of the nursing and cleaning staff is remarkable. The facilities are good but communication between the ground and first floor is not so good, with the first floor tending to be left out. Personally
apart from the food which was terrible but a change of chef may have improved. I found the two week respite stay was exactly what I required. It is a very friendly and caring care home,

My mother needed some short-term care following a hospital stay. I was delighted to find Furze Field Manor, the staff are all so kind, patient and understanding, and my mother was looked after so well. My aunt moved to Furze Field Manor after living in a care home in Haywards Heath for just over a year. Our experience there meant we were apprehensive about a new care home but our fears have been quick dispelled. Furze Field Manor is excellent. Everything about it is new and fresh. The standard of
care so far seems excellent and is in a different league to the previous home. Staff genuinely care. They take time to get to know their residents. They work hard to encourage residents to make friends. My relative isn't just left in a chair and ignored, which typified our previous experience.
The rooms and decor are immaculate. Really superb interior design. They are also kept spotless, and unlike our previous experience, clothes are respectfully and thoughtfully put away, so my relative can easily make her own clothes choices. The housekeeping standards are top class. Food: outstanding.
Activities are a work in progress but not too bad so far. Management responsive.
Overall very good.

After 53 years of marriage, the need to place my husband in a care home had to be faced. From the moment I walked into Furze Field Manor I knew this was where I wanted him to be. The warm and welcoming way I was met was a clear indication of the care, dignity, respect, and support I was looking for.
The Management of the Home is excellent and they and all their wonderful team are like an extended family to not only my husband but to also to our family. Their care, time and understanding is never rushed. The choice of delicious and nutritious food is served in first class dining areas, with attention paid to residents dietary needs.

I cannot find appropriate words to rate the Home and the staff highly enough, but what I can say is if my beloved husband cannot be with me, this is where I am happy he is. Thank you to all at Furze Field.

I looked at many care homes for my 97 year old grandmother and Furze Field Manor was by far the nicest. My grandmother was not looking forward to the move at all but has surprised us all by immediately settling in and reports that she loves it there. I think this is due to the wonderful facilities and
food but more importantly the staff. They take the time to update me on how she is doing and address any of my queries very quickly. They are very kind and engaged with the residents. It's good to see the same staff members regularly. The management team have been delightful to deal with and the whole process has been very easy. The Memory Clinic nurse couldn't say enough nice things about Furze Field Manor, not just the facilities but that she spotted staff spending time with and engaging with residents which is so helpful. I would highly recommend.
Reply from Wendy Peacock, General Manager at Furze Field ManorThank you so much for taking the time to provide this amazing feedback. It is our pleasure to take care of your grandmother, she has settled into her new home very quickly and is already taking part in and enjoying a wide range of activities and even been on a couple of resident outings in the short time she has been at Furze Field Manor. Spending time and engaging with our residents, outside of providing day to day care, is really important to us and one of our core values and so hearing this feedback from both you and a healthcare professional and visitor to the home is special. Thank you again for taking the time to provide this review.

Mum moved to Furze Field after a very frustrating time at another (much older) care home. We are very happy with our decision.
The staff are all very engaged with the residents and their families: helpful, professional, and above all genuinely caring. The quality of the food is exceptional. All of
the support activities (housework, laundry, IT etc.) are carried out smoothly and effectively as part of the running of a friendly home. Communication from the managers and care staff of the home has been diligent, timely, and proactive: I have not had to spend any time chasing things up.
I feel that my mother is safe and well looked after by people who care about her as a person.
Reply from Wendy Peacock, General Manager at Furze Field ManorThank you for your feedback which is much appreciated. It is lovely to hear that you are happy with all aspects of our service and that you feel your mum is safe and being cared for by people who care about her as a person. This very much aligns with our core values and ethos. Your positive feedback means a great deal, especially to the support teams who work tirelessly in the background but may not always be front of house. It is our pleasure to take care of your mum and thank you for choosing Furze Field Manor.

My dad initially stayed at Furze Field Manor for respite care. A sudden further change meant he required full time care and our immediate choice was Furze Field. I'm full of praise for the way the home is run and for the staff that work there. The home is clean and welcoming and the food is brilliant!
The staff are kind, friendly, caring, respectful and thoughtful and always professional. The last few months have been incredibly hard for us as a family and we have all been supported in varying ways by Furze Field. We could not have asked for more, as Furze Field is like home from home. Even my teenage sons look forward to a welcoming environment where they can spend time with their granddad. We have been able to enjoy time as a whole family, having a delicious lunch with my father. I can honestly say many of the staff who look after my dad have become friends who I trust and respect. Thank you to all at Furze Field for bringing some light and kindness to us at a very tough time.
Reply from Wendy Peacock, General Manager at Furze Field ManorThank you so much for this amazing feedback! It means a great deal to hear that we've been able to support you and your family during such a tough time - not just by caring for dad but welcoming the wider family to the home to join dad/granddad for meals and hopefully providing a listening ear and supporting you in other ways. To hear that we've made a difference means a lot. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback.

My husband has just returned from a 2 week respite stay at Furze Field Manor. His illness means that his condition is erratic and he sometimes has significant mobility problems and, increasingly, confusion. He needs medication every 3 to 4 hours day and night.
But the staff at this home managed to
cope with this and support him with great kindness, good will and patience.
The whole team in every department is doing a great job. Being a brand new purpose-built home, it has excellent facilities and the interiors are calm, spacious, comfortable and beautifully designed.
Special mention to the chef and his team. The menu was interesting, healthy, varied and beautifully served.
I think we are lucky to have Furze Field Manor close by.
Thank you to everyone.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.821) out of 10 for Furze Field Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 48 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.821 for Furze Field Manor is calculated as follows: ( (472 Excellents x 5) + (83 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 563 Ratings = 4.821
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Furze Field Manor is based on 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 48 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Jacquie

Jacquie Ferguson

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2025

With over 30 years of experience in the care sector as a Registered Nurse, Jacquie has dedicated her career to elderly care and care homes. Having worked as both a Registered Nurse and Home Manager, she has also taken on senior leadership roles as an Operations Area Manager and Regional Manager for two large healthcare companies. However, her passion for hands-on care led her back to the role of Home Manager, where she thrives on daily interactions with residents and their families.

Jacquie remains a Registered Nurse to this day, believing it is essential to keep her clinical skills active. Her primary responsibilities include ensuring the highest standards of care for residents, overseeing the smooth running of the home, and guiding her team to deliver exceptional, person-centred care that promotes independence, privacy, and dignity.

What Jacquie loves most about her role is the personal connections she builds—whether it’s with residents, their families, or her care team. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and three lively Jack Russells and escaping to Spain, where she can relax with a good book.
