Finding this place is like a dream come true. The staff are amazing and cannot do enough for the residents. Although it's modern, it feels very homely. After years of worry, I can now sleep at night, knowing that my dad is getting the best care possible. Thank you so much for looking after him!

I have nothing but praise for Colwall Care Home, which enjoys a beautiful view of the Malvern Hills, from the communal areas and many bedrooms. All staff are caring, welcoming, friendly and helpful. The fact that this is modern and purpose built makes navigating around all areas easy for those with
less mobility. The decor and facilities are completed to a high specification. Anyone on respite or permanent care would be proud to say this was their home. My father in law was one of the first residents. There is already a range of activities to enjoy. I have no doubt that once the home starts to fill up, a larger variety of activities, including some open to prospective residents, may become available. The catering, reception and housekeeping are all excellent. I would not hesitate in recommending Colwall Care Home to anyone, whether it be respite care or permanent. Compared to other care homes of the similar calibre the fees are competitive.

I have been here two weeks, to be company for my wife, who is recovering from surgery. I was not myself in need of special care. I found all the staff very attentive and caring. The rooms are attractive with excellent accommodations for a temporary stay, though I would have preferred a larger armchair.
The food was always excellent. If I were staying on a more permanent basis, I would need a larger room wtih all the cupboards and shelves that could be squeezed in!

What a beautiful and smart care home. I was initially nervous for my Grandma to move into a care home but this feels like a loving and caring community with an added bonus of being a stunning set up. I'm so relieved that she's so happy and cared for.

We decided to spend a fortnight's respite care in Colwall Care Home after I had a major operation & I have to say the whole experience exceeded our expectations. The care manager visited us at home beforehand to assess our needs, these were fully met. The building is beautifully designed & elegantly
& luxuriously furnished. Big picture windows lighten the dining & lounge areas & the attractive activities rooms. We also noted with approval the salon & bar. The well-appointed spacious ensuite bedrooms are very comfortable and after coming out of hospital, I was reassured to have a nurse available 24/7. The food was excellent & nicely presented. However the most strikig thing was the wonderful staff who were unfailingly friendly, helpful & patient. The atmosphere was warm & I would not hesitate to stay again or make it my permanent home.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (10.000)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (10.000) out of 10 for Colwall Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Colwall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (264 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 264 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Colwall Care Home is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
