Barchester Pittsmead Grange Care Home based in Bromley is a friendly care environment.

My mum was struggling to cope at home; it had become unsafe living on her own and her GP service was unhelpful. We moved her to Barchester Pittsmead Grange Care Home in the middle of August and she really did not want to go; she didn't want to leave her home of 60 years and was really worried about
moving to a place where she didn't know anybody.
On her moving in day, mum was made so welcome and we joined her for lunch which helped with settling in. The staff have been extremely efficient, friendly and caring, treated mum with respect and made her laugh. She has settled in well and told me that's she's been allowed to to be independent. However, I have the comfort of knowing that she is being given the correct medication at the correct times, is eating tasty and nutritional meals three times a day and is better in herself; she looks better and seems less confused. The GP service has been excellent with regular visits, alongside the District Nurse service.
Coffee and cake are great in the cafe.

I have nothing but praise from the minute we stepped into Barchester Pittsmead Grange Care Home to view the home until now where my mother is currently staying. What is such an emotional and stressful time has been made so much easier by all of the staff and in particular, the manger of Pittsmead.

My parents were the first residents of Barchester Pittsmead Grange Care Home. They have settled in well. The staff are all very friendly and caring. The staff are always quick to help and obviously care about the welfare of the residents.
The rooms are a good size and well decorated and furnished.
Each day the rooms are clean and tidy with beds made.
The communal areas are well thought out. The lounges are cosy but generously sized.
The food is excellent. It is served to the residents as if they are in a restaurant. The menus are varied and nutritious.
The activities are great. The lady that runs the activities is always smiling and very encouraging to the residents trying to get everyone involved.
I am so pleased my parents are living here and get great support.

Mum is staying for a four-week respite spell.
We have been very impressed all round so far. Mum's needs have been very well met and everyone has taken time to get to know her. This has been evident when visiting, with carers telling me she loves to dance and sing to ABBA - this is Mum at her happiest.
When
seeking a room for Mum, our requests were considered and a room with a similar layout to that of Mum's at home was given to Mum.
The activities have clearly been enjoyed by all when I've been visiting - I was invited to join in with badminton too! It was lovely to enjoy this with Mum.
The grounds are beautiful - Mum loves the view of the garden from her room.
From the first point of contact, the communication from Barchester Pittsmead Grange Care Home has been outstanding; something which is very important to us when placing a loved one in the care of others.
