This is an excellent care home. My mother has been there for 2 years and she is mentally and physically better than when she went there. The staff are fantastic and show a lot of care. The management is outstanding and it shows everywhere you look. Visitors are made welcome and relatives and friends can enjoy the company of their loved ones in a presentable and relaxed atmosphere. All occasions are celebrated and this month the care home arranged an excellent Nowruz party celebrating the first day of spring and a new year for many across the globe. A huge thank you to everyone at Princess Christian.

Mum was well looked after in Pirbright Unit for almost 3 years. She had a nice room which was always kept spotlessly clean. She was kept looking her best at all times by affectionate personal carers. She was kept active and entertained by an energetic and imaginative activities team, but allowed quiet time to herself when she chose. Mum was well fed by a creative catering team. Her health was carefully maintained by dedicated nurses. Finally, when Mum passed, aged 99, everything possible was done to ensure that she did so in a dignified and peaceful way. In short, Princess Christian provided all that I could have asked for in a care home in which Mum was to spend her final years.

My dad is well cared for, always freshly shaven, clean and tidy and in clean clothes. The staff keep us well informed, and even though we can’t visit too often because of distance, they take the time to look at photos of the family with him, spend time getting to know him and look after him like their own family. Dad seems very content and absolutely loves all the food and drinks, and even when Dad fancied a meal not on the menu when he first arrived, the chef made him what he requested!
After a very bad experience from his previous care home, I can hand on heart, say that the care Dad is receiving here has been amazing. Dad arrived at Princess Christian extremely underweight and in poor health, but thanks to the care of the staff here, he has gained weight and has sprung back to life and looks so much happier in himself. I cannot thank the staff enough for looking after him so well.

My father spent his last 6 weeks in the Knaphill Unit. I write this review the day after he died so that the sentiments I express are as close to real-time as they can be. The care my father received was excellent. Warm, caring and empathetic. First and foremost I wanted my father to be well looked after and he was. Yes, the building is a bit tired, yes the inside could do with being freshened up and perhaps the rooms are a little small but all that is more than compensated for by the level of care and attention delivered by the staff. I visited Dad regularly and was always happy to see him clean, shaved, neatly dressed, well fed and most importantly content.
A heartfelt thank you to all the staff servicing the Knaphill Unit.

Several times someone else's poor-quality clothes were used, when pure cotton would have been better and was available. Also, pure wool blankets/jumpers could have been washed at home but we were not asked....

I struggle to believe that all these wonderful reviews are genuine. Our experience is that this is a truly dreadful care home that has no evident care or empathy for its residents and poor comms with relatives. We knew on day one that this was not a place to leave Mum in and moving at pace we had her moved to another wonderful care home in 10 days. Mum is happy and healthy in her new home and a totally different person. They are caring and supportive to her as well as us and she is kept busy with activities. We reported to staff one man in difficulty on the floor signalling for help and it was ignored with the comment "that's what they do". There was no respect or dignity for the residents that we saw. I would say to anyone please do not send anyone you love or care about here. Despite spending time explaining about Mum's interests she did nothing during the 10 days she was there. I was told it was "easier" for staff to have them all in chairs in the lounge all the time.

I am staggered that there are any positive reviews on this care home. We took mum out after 10 days. From the initial smell of sewage and an unclean toilet. The staff spends no time with the patients as they are always rotating. Temporary or inexperienced. Mum had a fall within the first day and...
I am staggered that there are any positive reviews on this care home. We took mum out after 10 days. From the initial smell of sewage and an unclean toilet. The staff spends no time with the patients as they are always rotating. Temporary or inexperienced. Mum had a fall within the first day and whilst this can happen it was not dealt with and neither was her lack of sleep (all these have been resolved in her new place). The final straw was when we turned up one day to see a man with dementia on the floor waving and when we told the receptionist she just said 'that's just what they do - he will be okay'. If you have any option do not use this home. Mum is now in a lovely place with sensitive care and stimulation.

I am really pleased that your Mum is settled into her new home and all is going well. But I would be very happy and eager for you to contact me to discuss each of your concerns and maybe I will be able to put your mind at rest regarding the care provided in our “outstanding” home. However, I do apologise if you found any of the facilities unclean, unfortunately in an elderly care setting these things do occasionally happen, but I would have hoped this situation would have been rectified quickly had it been reported.
At Princess Christian Care Home, we have many very satisfied residents and families, and I am sincerely sorry that you were not.

Inadequate - The service is performing badly and we've taken action against the person or organisation that runs it.
Not rated - we have not yet rated this area of the service, this is normally because the assessments we have carried out have been focused on other key questions.

Nisha began her career at Princess Christian Care Centre (PCCC) in 2010, joining the organisation as a Qualified Nurse. From the beginning of her career, she developed a strong interest in supporting people living with dementia and has spent much of her professional life working with residents affected by dementia.
In 2018, Nisha further developed her specialist knowledge by successfully completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Dementia Studies. This strengthened her understanding of dementia care and enhanced her ability to support residents with complex and individual needs in a person-centred way.
Throughout her career at PCCC, Nisha progressed through a number of clinical and leadership positions, including Lead Nurse, Unit Manager and Deputy Manager. These roles enabled her to develop extensive experience in clinical care, team leadership, safeguarding, staff development and the day-to-day management of care services.
In recognition of her leadership and contribution to the care sector, Nisha received the Frontline Leader Award at the Great British Care Awards in 2021. This was an important milestone in her career and reflected her commitment to residents, colleagues and high standards of care.
In 2023, Nisha became a Queen’s Nurse, recognising her commitment to professional development, leadership and improving the quality of nursing care.
Following her progression through various clinical and management roles, Nisha is now working as a Clinical Home Manager at PCCC. She brings more than a decade of experience within the organisation, combining her clinical nursing knowledge with her leadership and management experience.
Nisha is known for her compassionate approach, professionalism, integrity and commitment to high standards of care. She believes in leading by example and creating a supportive working environment where staff are encouraged to develop their skills, work collaboratively and always keep residents at the centre of their care.
Her particular passion remains dementia care. Nisha is committed to ensuring that residents living with dementia are treated with dignity, respect and kindness, while their individual choices, preferences and quality of life are respected.
As Clinical Home Manager, Nisha continues to support residents, families and colleagues through approachable and compassionate leadership. She is committed to continuous improvement, effective teamwork and maintaining a culture where kindness, dignity, respect and person-centred care remain at the heart of everything the team does.
Nisha’s career journey at PCCC, from Qualified Nurse in 2010 to Clinical Home Manager, reflects her dedication to nursing, lifelong learning, professional development and compassionate leadership.

Sona started her career as a Nellsar trained OSCE Nurse, and she is delighted to have progressed to Unit Manager with the support of the management team at Princess Christian. Sona truly enjoys her role and is passionate about working directly with our residents and their families, contributing to improving their everyday lives. Sona is dedicated to ensuring that our residents’ care needs are met to the highest standards, with professionalism, compassion, and respect. "My name is Cosmin Cristea, and I work as the Head Chef here at Princess Christian. Having started working at the Home in 2015, I first began working as a Kitchen Assistant, and progressed to Chef Assistant, then Chef, before being promoted to Head Chef.
I have completed many training programmes over the years, including an NVQ Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Food Production and Cooking, Level 3 Supervising Food Safety in Catering, and all the required in-house training courses for my catering roles. I started a Level 5 Management course, and I look forward to resuming the training soon, having been interrupted as a result of the pandemic.
What I most enjoy about my job as Head Chef is having the opportunity to cook for our residents and guests; seeing the satisfaction on everyone's faces really makes me happy. Cooking and baking have become my number one passion, which encourages me to carry on and develop and learn new flavours and recipes.
Working very closely with my team, I have seen many positive changes take place over the years. Many members of the Catering Team have started to develop, including enrolling on NVQ and Nutrition Courses. The knowledge we have now, working as a team, is reflected in the quality of our residents' meals. We've achieved a five-star food hygiene rating; we consistently create new menus, and we are proficient at creating menus for residents with special dietary requirements.
Our Head of Catering, Adrian Silaghi, has been a great support to me since I began working at Princess Christian back in 2015. He has always believed in me and has been a great help. Our Registered General Manager, Mario Taherian, has also consistently encouraged and supported the Catering Team and me in new ideas and projects.
I am very proud of myself for having achieved so much in my time at Princess Christian – my professional qualifications and the recognition from our residents that they enjoy the food we prepare for them. I am also proud of my “Cooking with Chef Cosmin Club" where, together with residents, we cook together every Friday. They love to share stories and memories about cooking at home, and they enjoy sharing recipes with me. Working closely with our Activities Team, "Cooking with Cosmin" has become something we all look forward to and that brings me great joy.
Working with my wonderful Kitchen Team is a privilege. They are very keen and open to learning new skills; they trust and follow me with an open mind, whilst also developing their knowledge.
My future aspirations include restarting my Management NYQ and elevating our catering provision to a whole new level with new menus, and new puréed, minced and moist options for our residents with special requirements.
The best aspect of working as part of such a great team at Princess Christian is having the opportunity to make a difference to a person's life. Being able to bring a smile to someone's face and to work in a collective with so many different cultures, traditions, and backgrounds makes for a very interesting work life. There is a lot to discover and learn from each other if we are open to listening and sharing our knowledge."

Christine began working at Princess Christine in 2014 as a part-time Activities Coordinator in one of the Home’s units, along with two other staff. Having completed her Level 3 NVQ in Leadership, Christine is now Head of Activities for the whole Home and has completed various training schemes including ‘Ladder to the Moon’, Namaste and ‘Daily Sparkle’.
Christine feels lucky to work in a role that is so rewarding and it brings her a lot of joy and satisfaction. Christine has grown the Activities staff team to eight people, receiving regular feedback about the wonderful person-centred care they provide to their residents; “Princess Christian is my home from home. I work with some amazing people and adore each and every one of our residents.”
Christine feels proud that the Home’s charitable group ‘Friends of Princess Christian’ has also gained more members, involving residents, staff and family members to have their say on upcoming events or fundraising ideas; She takes pleasure in witnessing improvements across all areas of the Home.
Citing her greatest achievements as completing her NVQ and being shortlisted for the Surrey Care Awards and the South East Care awards, Christine classes being able to engage with residents and make them happy every day as ‘the best achievement of all’.
