During my initial enquiry, the staff at Capel Grange Care Home were very helpful, professional and kind. It was a difficult decision to move my mum but they put my mind at rest, showing me around, allowing me to speak to residents and answering all my questions.
Once we were ready to go ahead, they allowed us to decorate her room so that it looked more like home and they were genuinely keen that Mum could feel that this is her home and they are there to make it as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
She has been there for six weeks and is generally just as happy as she was at home. Knowing that she is safe and well cared for has helped both her and her family to adjust to this big change in her life. The daily activities give her something to look forward to and the food is fantastic.

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and without exception they are all kind, friendly and caring. There are very few restrictions on visitors and this is very important for Mum and her family and friends.

My mum has only just moved in after a long stay in hospital, I visited a number of homes before deciding on this one. I was impressed from my first visit and happy to say all is well so far, nurses and carers are very considerate, receptionist and managers have been very helpful with the transition too.

Really lovely staff. From reception, care staff, cleaners, whoever you speak to. They take care to know our names as well as the residents'. They cannot do enough for my mother-in-law. Convenient location. Really good nursing staff, very experienced, who understand the issues of old age and the need for dignity.

Nan was transferred here from a different home almost two years ago and I am so happy that she was, the staff here are amazing, they are always very welcoming when I visit and they treat my nan with the utmost respect. I am kept up to date with everything that is going on with her care which is very important to us.
I love that there is often an event for the residents to which the families are invited to attend, I have had a lovely time at some of them, the most recent one that I could get to was a lovely afternoon with singers and snacks. It was fantastic being able to enjoy that with Nan. We are looking forward to the next one.

All in all, my mind is at rest knowing that, when I cannot be there for her, my nan is safe and well looked after by people who genuinely care.

Mum became a resident at Capel Grange Care Home in October 2022. All the staff have been amazing! Caring, compassionate and very professional. Mum has settled in so well and she is really coming out of her shell, enjoying the activities etc. The standard of care received is excellent and, as a family, we have peace of mind that Mum is happy, safe and cared for. Thanks to all the team.

After a period of ill health, we started looking for a nursing home for Mum. Capel Grange Care Home came highly recommended and most of those comments came before we even mentioned the name.
Mum moved in and was a little hesitant in her new surroundings…that didn’t last long! Mum is now socialising and is even on their residents' committee!
The premises are amazing; super clean, tidy, homely; with no echos of a hospital. It’s bright and cheery and the ‘Capel Grange caring family’ are like no other. Like a well-oiled machine, they are on-hand to support, advise and care - we 100% know Mum is in the very best of hands. All the staff have a knack for attending to things before they are needed, like thinking of a blanket for Mum's legs in her wheelchair, just in case it got a bit chilly when we went into the garden in the early evening…this obviously wasn’t whilst the heatwaves were in full force!

If you are looking for the best, I couldn’t recommend better than Capel Grange.

My father has recently moved into Capel Grange Care Home. He has quite severe dementia but all the staff at Capel Grange have been brilliant with him from day one. All the staff clearly take pride in their work, but it is their desire to do their best for Dad that is most impressive. No matter how difficult or challenging the circumstances may be, the staff at Capel Grange go the extra mile to try and make Dad as comfortable as possible. The staff clearly understand dementia and how it can affect Dad differently during the course of a day (noting that no two days are the same) and they adjust their care accordingly. Fantastic.

It is heartbreaking to see our dad at this stage in the dementia cycle but is also comforting to know that he is being looked after as best as is possible. I cannot speak highly enough of the entire team at Capel Grange.

My nan has been living at Capel Grange Care Home since February 2021, it was a decision we didn't want to do but because of her health and disabilities we had no choice. I had never dealt with Caple Grange before and was very concerned as I was the one who cared for her for eleven years and didn't think anyone could look after her as good as me, but I was completely wrong, staff at Capel Grange have been absolutely amazing with her. There is nothing they won't do to help not only her but me as a family member, if I have questions they will answer them, if they need to do something with her like injections/medication they always contact me, I'm never left out. When I visit her she has this glow about her, she does have her moments but don't we all. There's always plenty of activities for her to get involved in like gardening, singing even bowling, they play bingo and do paintings and many, many more.

After the experience I've had and still having I would definitely recommend this nursing home to anyone.

My elderly father was quite ill when he was accepted into the care home just over twelve months ago. He was given excellent nursing care and attention and gradually his health improved. He is now able to get up and sit in his chair to watch tv or join in events arranged by the home.
Since Covid, family visits have been very limited and I realise my father’s lack of communication with his family has affected his speech. This improves when we can visit and use the time to encourage him to chat.
He will be 97 on his next birthday and we are very much hoping that the health board will relax visiting so that family and friends can call to see him.

The care home staff have tried hard to keep the virus at bay and understandably have been really busy. They are cheerful and very kind to my father and provide the appropriate personal care to ensure he is clean and tidy. Dad was always fussy about his appearance. He could not be in a better and more caring nursing home.

My husband has resided at Capel Grange Care Home since March 2021, since then I have been visiting him and have been pleased with the support not only for my husband but also for myself from staff. My husband has improved both physically and mentally, his condition on admission was very serious. If I have any concerns/queries the staff listen and they are dealt with immediately. I have developed a good rapport with the care staff and feel at ease when I have to leave my husband in the care of Capel Grange staff which is very reassuring for me.

I have nothing but praise for this truly outstanding care home and all the staff that work there.
My father moved into Capel Grange in June 2021 and he couldn’t be in a better place. The care he receives is of the highest standard with all his needs being met. Family are well supported too.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Capel Grange to anyone looking to place a loved one in a care home.

Our dad arrived at Capel Grange in his late 60s, having been diagnosed with a degenerative condition, and we are so glad that it is now his home. From our very first contact, staff at Capel Grange have been friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and, most importantly, kind. They have taken time to get to know Dad as a person and are fantastic in catering for his daily needs, interests and curve balls! Activities are plentiful and are aimed at the elders of today and what interests them - no sitting round singing 'we'll meet again' to be had here! As a family, we cannot fault the staff, they are a fantastic team and it is evident that they all enjoy their work and genuinely care for the elders at Capel Grange. Dad is treated at all times with dignity and respect and always with a huge amount of care and laughter. We cannot sing the praises of Capel Grange enough and would recommend anyone who is thinking of looking at Capel Grange as a home for their loved one to contact the team there.
