My mother receives excellent care from the compassionate staff. The carers and lead nursing staff meet my mother's needs in terms of her nursing and wellbeing. The cleanliness of the building and rooms are evident and the cleaning staff are constantly visible. The carers are also very visible and always
call in to check on my mother's wellbeing. The nursing team are efficient and regularly communicate with my family keeping us updated of my mother condition when required. The catering team provide a variety of food fulfilling all nutritional needs.
The administration for the home, continues to be efficient under the new management team. The welcome you receive when visiting is warm and welcoming, providing up to date information when requested.
I have no hesitation recommending Ty Coch Nursing home to other families to care for their relatives if needed.

Anna and the team at Ty Coch have provided excellent care to my mother-in-law since she moved to the home following a long hospital stay.

They have catered to Nancy's needs going the extra mile in ensuring that she is well looked after and cared for.

They are excellent in providing updates to

us and letting my husband and I know if there is anything that Nancy requires.

They are very proactive in supporting Nancy, whether it be in a mental or physical capacity and this is communicated through the care plans that are agreed.

Ty Coch arrange a variety of activities for their residents and for those less mobile they ensure that they have opportunities to participate.

I would highly recommend Ty Coch for anyone looking for a nursing home for their loved ones.

My experience is nothing but positive. All the staff are helpful and caring and I cannot speak highly enough of them . The home is always clean and tidy and well maintained. We are kept well informed of how my mother is doing and if there are any issues regarding her health and care. Should any issues
do occur the staff don't hesitate to contact me which is very much appreciated.

Mum was with this home for just over one year. Was rarely ever hoisted out of bed to wheelchair unless family requested even though she liked to get up and into her chair for the day. Wasn't provided a shower chair for several months despite requests from family. Mum ended up in hospital in Nov 2025
due to neglect from the nursing home. Never followed up with me despite an official complaint being lodged with the manager, have now had to seek legal action. Wouldn't ever recommend! Horrible place with awful management. Luckily mum is in a new place and the care standards are night and day, despicable what Ty Coch has put us through as a family.
Reply from Anna Cooper, General Manager at Ty Coch Care HomeWe take all feedback and complaints very seriously, While we are sorry that you feel your mother's care fell short of your expectations, I must clarify that although an initial concern was communicated via telephone in November 2025, no formal complaint was ever lodged. At Ty Coch, we treat any concerns raised with utmost seriousness and adhere strictly to our safeguarding procedures. We regret that you feel the outcome of the closure of our safeguarding referral was not upheld and wasnot the desired outcome that you expected.

We are glad to know that your mother is now in an environment where you believe her needs are being better addressed, and we wish her ongoing comfort and well-being.

Should you wish to discuss this matter further, I am available or senior management, escalated to the RI and to CEO level.

My father went in for two weeks respite as my mother was recovering from surgery and was not able to care for him.
I was a little apprehensive at first as leaving my Father, but he settled in quickly. From the start, I felt reassured by the friendliness of the staff. Each day I visited, Dad was well
cared for and more than content. All the staff were lovely and really did care. I felt confident and happy that Dad was being well looked after by fantastic staff in a clean, safe and happy environment.
Reply from Stacey Morgan, General Manager at Bryn CelynThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We completely understand how difficult it can be to entrust someone else with your loved one's care, so it truly means a lot to hear that you felt reassured from the very beginning.
Your lovely comments about our team will mean a great deal to them, they work hard to create a warm, safe, and caring environment for everyone.
It was a pleasure to care for your father, and we're so glad we could provide you with peace of mind while your mother recovered. Wishing your family all the very best.

My Mother has been in the home for 3 years and we waited 2 years to get a place. Such was the outstanding reputation of the home. The care staff are outstanding but since Amaya took over in January 2025, the standards have dropped significantly leading many family.members to contact CSIW in despair
and worry about safety, lack of staff and poor standards in the home . We have a monthly meeting with the manager but the home has sacked so many staff since they took over , there is no continuity and nothing but empty promises . I couldn't even tell you who the manager and deputy manager are at present as there have been so many since January.

There will always be change when a new company takes over but Amaya ae run by accountants who have no interest in care , only prodit. Wards are run with minimum staff ans staff are at breaking point and too scared to speak out with no dedicated nurses on wards. Please, please do not put your relatuve in this home

Reply from Christine Halleron, Home manager at Capel GrangeWe appreciate you taking the time to express your opinions to us.

We regret to learn that you feel this way.

Earlier in the year, there were shortcomings, and the team has diligently worked to enhance standards, making progress in the right direction.

The local health board has been very supportive and has provided positive feedback following their last unannounced inspection on December 17, 2025.

As we have noticed that you did not visit the home in December or have attended the recent monthly relatives' meetings, it would be wonderful to meet with you to discuss and share all the improvements made over the past few months. We have reached out to you to book in a one to one meeting, please do contact me if the message has not reached you.

My mother is a resident at Ty Coch. Her level of care is generally good, with some carers being excellent. Generally, the carers are very kind and competent. The food is generally of a very good standard with a good variety. The evening meal variety is much better; for a while, there was mainly soup/sandwiches.
The entertainment staff were excellent and do a wonderful job!! The home is kept very clean, and the laundry is excellent. The home could do with some cosmetic improvement as some areas are quite tired.

My sister has been at Ty Coch for over two years and has settled in well, the care that she now receives is very good. Her room is kept tidy and spotless at all times and the staff are very kind and caring in everything they do for the residents. The food they provide is very good, and the residents
clothing is always freshly laundered. The entertainment that the home provides for its residents is excellent and I cannot thank and praise the activity team enough for everything that they do in keeping the residents fully entertained at all times, something that I've witnessed first hand with my sister, whenever she is participating with the activity team she is a totally different person, they seem to bring out the best in the residents. They have had a truly positive impact in what they do for others in entertaining the residents of Ty Coch care home. I found the activity team to be compassionate, caring and dedicated in what they do, they are an absolute credit to their profession and a great asset to your organisation, and as a family we cannot thank them enough. Keep up the great work that you do.

After initial concerns ( a negiative inspection), and attending our first residents meeting, we have every confidence in the home. This includes the management and staff.
During the meeting the management outlined changes that had been implemented and others to be implemented/actioned.
We have every
confidence in the home and the care that our 'loved' one is receiving.

The only reason I marked poor for the room is its a struggle for myself and staff to assist in the toilet, there fine for someone who can walk but no room for a stedy, and its not fair for anyone to be charged extra because of this reason rooms should suit the person's needs. This is my only issue.
Staff and management are all amazing can't fault them.

The staff, management & facility that is Bryn Celyn are Excellent in the nursing care & support that they provide my father. They are gentle, caring and truely professional in the nursing care they provide my father and all other residents that live there. I visit often. They provide dignity, sensitivity
in all aspects. Everyone is treated equaly and so much is provided. Bryn Celyn was one of twelve nursing homes I visited when looking for a residence that could undertake his needs. Bryn Celyn was and is by far the best in South Wales.

My grandfather came here almost three years ago where he had the best care. A change of hands this year was the end of capel grange.
We have had problems for quite some time where just recently my grandfather was left in bed unable to breathe for a long period of time. When my father arrived the nurse
on duty made a 'non urgent call' to a GP who told my father they could be up to 3 hours. I attended the home within 1 hour, called for a ambulance where I had to perform CPR on my grandfather. He had a collapsed lung, heart and kidney failure.
I fear anyone sent to this home would be a lamb to the slaughter. My fear now is for the other residents. These Residents I have known for 3 years and have watched their deterioration over the last 12 months with the heaviest of hearts. My grandfather is safe now we have left and in the best hands.

My Dad John came to Bryn Celyn in August for three weeks respite. The only way I could describe the home is it's like a hotel. The staff members were absolutely fantastic with him and he loved his stay.My Dad lives with me permanently and this was his first time away from us in 14 months.Dad will definitely
be returning for a break and is already looking forward to it.I would also like to praise Alison the care home manager who put my mind at ease and made the whole process so smooth.Every time I phoned I was constantly reassured that Dad was fine. His room was beautiful and cosy and every where was spotless. The Carers are constantly checking to see that the residents are ok and you could see that they definitely cared.Thank you again to the team at Bryn Celynxx

Pleased with the overall standard of care provided for my mother at Bryn Celyn.
The room provided is clean and comfortable and was refurbished prior to her moving into the home.
The communal areas are also well maintained and kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
The food provided is high quality
with a good choice and variety of menu options.
The staff show a very caring attitude to the residents and the whole team put a lot of effort into providing entertainment and activities to keep the residents occupied during the day.
The cost of the additional fees is a concern , however the management are always willing to discuss this and any other concerns arising .
